Store associate today decided to make some rude comments about my age when checking my ID. Since they decided to give me some unsolicited advice, here is some for them: please keep thoughts like this to yourself next time.

The pharmacist Katheryn has no sense of urgency or care about patients who are in pain needing their medicine. I have a terrible infection on my legs. I can’t sleep at night. The only thing that will help is this Rx. I have never had this in my life. The Rx was very expensive from Walgreens, even as a generic. I found a good Rx coupon. I called here and talked to a tech and she said they had it in ready stock on Lincoln, on site. She took down all of my info and said the pharmacist would call Walgreens. Nothing was put into place from afternoon until evening, as when I called and the actual pharmacist Kathryn answered, she said she didn’t have time to call and didn’t know when and people from yesterday don’t have medicine. I said this phone call we are on would take shorter. You also can’t even reach the pharmacy direct. You have to talk to the store and have them transfer you. Otherwise you are in a very bad phone menu loop and eventually are only told you are allowed to leave a voicemail. The pharmacist had an uncaring, thin lipped tone when I said I’m in pain. I’m calling corporate.

Greeted, directed to the aisle number, assisted at self checkout, and made to feel that this is my store. If you live within a couple miles or more, make it yours!

*Update as of 6/11/24: As a healthcare provider and as a person with disabilities, please do not subject yourself to the harm and medical trauma that this pharmacy allows. The conduct of a pharmacy staff is unacceptable and malicious. It seems from the newest reviews that the same staff member mentioned in my original post continues to treat patients with the dehumanizing regard that I experienced.*
My experience with this CVS location’s pharmacy services had almost always been fine. I previously resorted to using this pharmacy when my primary pharmacy did not have my medication in stock AND when they could not provide me an ETA for restocking. I called this pharmacy (2/28/24 around 1pm CST) to inquire whether they had my medication in stock because of my primary pharmacy’s inability to accept e-scripts due to the continued problems from the Change Healthcare cyber attack.
After reporting that CVS pharmacy does not accept my 2024 insurance, the pharmacy staff told me that the pharmacy cannot fill prescriptions without processing the prescription through my insurance which is an absolute lie. To the staff member, please 1.) do not interrupt me every 5-seconds when I’m just trying to gather information to understand if this is a new or temporary policy, 2.) do not become increasingly snippy and increase the volume of each of your “MA’AM” statements when you- a freaking healthcare provider- should know to practice active listening, reasonable manners towards patients needing assistance navigating barriers to healthcare, as well as to refrain from verbalized assumptions of a patient’s gender, and lastly 3.) DO NOT report an obvious lie of, “my supervisor’s at lunch and won’t return for an hour,” which is so insulting because the pharmacy MUST have a pharmacist on duty to even be open. This staff refused to provide any helpful information beyond short-tempered one worded answers and abrupt disdainful statements. This type of conduct towards patients needing care is just another reason why so many people cannot get their health needs met.
I sincerely hope this CVS location’s
managers or this employee recognizes the harm they’re inflicting so that they move on to a job role that doesn’t have such a significant impact on others/society.
*Update as of 3/1/24: CVS Pharmacy does in fact accept my insurance. So, the staff I spoke with is also incompetent in addition to contemptuous and confrontational.*

Horrible. Got there at 7:55 and was told sorry we're closed. They close at 8. Now I'm in pain and can't get my script

From the looks of other reviews, I can attest that the pharmacy employees are some of the rudest and most miserable people I’ve interacted with.

I received great service at my local CVS. A very nice and knowledgeable team member helped me find an allergy medication and again assisted me at self service.

Came in for a last minute sports physical for my child. I was asked to arrive 15 before my appointment for check-in which I did. The wait was extremely long! The whole process took about 2 hours. I will NEVER do this again!
