If you love to make art or crafts or teach, this is a place you have to visit. I take every one who visits me in Chicago here for an immersive - inexpensive - treat. Just wandering the aisles is a call to create.

I love CCRX! As a veteran Social Studies teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, we are forever need of the basics. CCRX has staplers! Paper clips! Binders! Colored Pencils! I can go on... These humble items might not seem like a big deal to non-teachers, but are essential to the smooth operation of a social studies class, especially in my high need, underfunded school. I can provide every student with a binder to keep organized, pencils to make beautiful maps and art, staples to hang up maps, and posters, (also found at CCRX!) etc. There are always new items, and creative classes. CCRX is also a great place to donate materials when you're Spring cleaning. But the best part is that to me "Exchange" means the exchanges of ideas, empathy, and encouragement that fellow teachers share when they are there. You always leave CCRX with great, helpful things, and an optimistic sense of hope. Looking forward to school and the cool stuff you will share with the kids!

CCRX is incredible for teachers, artists, crafters and makers. I love it so much, when I have out of town guests, I bring them to CCRX. We have a great time picking out materials and dreaming up projects. Everything is so beautifully organized and displayed by color and section. I spend most of my time in office supplies, fabric and paints but often find gems like beakers, wax or frames. A must visit!

Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange (CCRx) is a gem of a resource for the community, promoting sustainability through the circular economy. Their efforts in recycling and reusing materials are commendable, making a significant impact on environmental conservation. Highly recommend for artists, teachers and non-for-profits and anyone committed to creative repurpose, ecological responsibility and community development.
Many of their items are Special Finds that can be purchased online or you can book your shopping appointment and head to the warehouse where there is free and secure parking.
Maybe one of the best things about CCRx is how their events from the Creativity Bus to Make and Takes-- all are welcome and everyone leaves feeling more connected and creative.

CCRx is one of the coolest places in Chicago. It's a beautiful warehouse of colorful art supplies, books, fabric and treasures. It's a sustainability hub that allows educators and artists to find creative materials for projects. Those same materials are then kept out of the landfill! I am always impressed with CCRx a sustainability enthusiast, as a member of the Chicago Sustainability Task Force, and as an LRS Sustainability Manager.

Great place to buy random stuff and materials at very low cost. Make an appointment through their website. It’s very easy to do and you should be able to get the time you want.
Finding the place is easy and parking is easy.
They take donations as well.
