As of the writing of this review, I'm new to the neighborhood of Lincoln Square, and in need of regular dry cleaners. I used Yelp and some other apps to search for a dry cleaners, but was disappointed to find that there just aren't a lot in the area if Lincoln Square where I live. Connie's Cleaners is ones that popped up and I thought I'd give them a try. I gave them a few dress shirts to launder to try them out. They did a good job with the actual cleaning of my shirts. I have no complaints there. There prices weren't the least expensive, but not crazy. However, there are just some things that makes this place inconvenient for me to use. First, they only take cash. I typically don't carry cash and use my credit cards for nearly every purchase. That wouldn't have been such big an issue, but they don't have signage that indicates they are cash only. In this day and age, where the use of credit or debit cards is newly ubiquitous, stores that are cash only have obvious signage altering customers of that policy. I ended up writing a check to pay for shirts. Second, their hours aren't great. At time of writing this review, their hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday though Saturday. Working in the Loop and commuting home to Lincoln Square makes it impossible to pick up and drop off clothing to be dry cleaned during the week. What's worse is that their closing times are listed here and everywhere else I checked as 6:30 pm. I even called and I think the person working their also told me they close 6:30 pm. Initially when I attended to pick up my shirts, I arrived at 6:15 pm only to find a had written sign stating their hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. I do not want to say that this a bad dry cleaners or discourage anyone from using Connie's Cleaners. They seem like they do good work and have been around for a long time. It's the kind of small neighborhood business I'd like to patronize. If cash only is not issue and their hours work for you, there is no reason not to go here. However, for me, the inconveniences described above make it impractical to use them.

I had ripped the seam of the armpit of this amazing winter coat and had let it sit unrepaired for two years in a closet due to my laziness about finding someone with the skills to fix it. I am so glad that I ended up taking this coat to Connie's for a repair. She had it fixed the next day and it looks amazing. I will be sure and take future repair and alteration needs to this shop. Excellent work!
