Unbelievably bad customer service!
The black woman employee is so aggressive! I walked in the bank 1 hour before it close, a black woman was standing there talking on her phone and laughing loudly, when she saw me coming in, she blocked the door, she was using her arm to stop me walking into the bank!! She didn’t let client walk in because she said they almost close, they get ready to go. She talked to me in a bad attitude. She use abusive and offensive language toward me! And her facial expressions were horrible while she was talking to me. So scary!
I will stop banking with this bank and don’t go back there again!

I was locked out of my account after a Citibank employee, yes an employee illegally accessed my account and then fraudulently and purposefully forwarded a duplicate banking card to an unknown address in New York. Citibank did not take action to prevent this Fraud, I did. I notified Citibank this happened and got the complete runaround from another employee. Then my funds were suddenly and unexplainably inaccessible. The calls made to reach a person who could help me were useless. I have documented five calls of people who work for Citibank and did not know how to help me. One even hung up on me. I finally got a rep #6 who took the time to explain what happened and made efforts to help me regain access to my account. How is it that Citibank gave me, the account holder a harder time than the person who illegally accessed my account. I am willing to bet that the employee was not terminated and probably not even disciplined. I'm running away from this AWFUL bank as fast as I can.

Awful customer service! So frustrated with the banker Latasha! She is not willing to help! Every time I need help she said she is not available! Let me go make an appointment! After I have an appointment with her, she just said call customer service!!! I try to come to other banker, but another one was busy with the customer. When Latasha is the only one banker available there but she is not want to help.I saw her just chatting with her coworker, laughing and playing there, she is not busy, just doesn’t want to help me!I have to wait for about half hour for another banker to finish her client and come to help me. Finally it’s Ms. Guo helped me, she is much better than Latasha.

This branch is getting worse each year. No tellers and only one customer service rep during peak hours becomes a norm. The only advantage is that the branch is located at the UChicago campus (lots of new customers each fall). I was banking at this location since it was open.

I have to say that this is so far the worst banking experience after opening an account in multiple countries including previously in the US when I was visiting five years ago.The account opening was ok, but for any other problem you must call the customer service "number on the back of your card". Sounds familiar? Yes, you get a person ( after long call with a bad AI) who really does not do match. You call it again and again, and the problem was not solved. You go in person they say you can call the number on the back of your card.Only once I was lucky that a polite Asian-looking person helped me by calling them herself and insisting on solution. Unfortunately even she was unsuccessful.I know that people have not had issues with it, but I was not able to make any kind of basic payment and transfer. Then, I come to close my account and hearding a student complaining about the same problem...

Wouldnt reccomend. Been a customer for 14 years. With a 814 credit score they upped my interest rate to 17.4% claiming they cannot lower it and they are reflective of the market trends. Ok im also reflective of the market trends as well so guess what ? You lost a customer. Have fun screwing people over ?

I went today to upgrade my bank account, get some money orders. I finished everything in 20 minutes, so much faster than I had expected!Jose Alvarado was super nice. One of my money orders was for $2 (can you believe it? I had to get it for some government work stuff), and Jose didn’t charge the $5 fee for this money order. I was so happy!Overall I had a wonderful experience today

A Terrible Banker Erika Lopez! This banker doesn't even deserve one star! She is so rude to customers! Especially if you are an Asian, avoid Lopez and go to Heidi. Lopez is not willing to help, she just wants to become a manager. Heidi is very nice!

They won't allow me to book an appointment because "they're not that busy". However, I've came in multiple times and every time there was a substantial line.

Went to the counter. Gave the teller my ID and asked to check my current balance. She looked at my balance and asked me if this is my account?? That was kind of not nice when I showed my ID card properly.

I moved here in early August of 2018 and started looking for a local bank about a week later. Reading the reviews of some of the local banks, I was disappointed - they were either highly rated but only had a few reviews (planted?) or rather mediocre at best with many reviews - many complaining that the services were basically non-responsive. Based on the recommendation of a friend and the bank office's proximity to work, I decided to try out Citibank Hyde Park. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and offered something to drink and a seat. I noticed that the staff were diverse, with several asian personal bankers and tellers (e.g. chinese, indian, etc. probably to accommodate the diversity of students here on campus. Service was *very* good. I had a problem with my online account and when I called, all tellers were busy but one would call me back. I talked with Arun who works here at this office and he walked me through the detailed steps until the problem was fixed. I say again, service were very good! That being said, there were a few things that I wasn't completely happy about - not through a fault of the people working there. First, there are no safety deposit boxes at this branch. The next closest branch with safety deposit boxes was in Chinatown - about 4 miles away. When we went there, they told us all the safety deposit boxes were occupied. We ended up finding another solution. Another thing that I found annoying, was the online deposit policy of restricting checks to under $500. Yes, you *cannot* deposit a check over five hundred dollars until you have had an account with them for six months. That is not a small inconvenience - to put it mildly. This policy apparently applies across the board, regardless of what type of account you have with them. Maybe this isn't an issue for most people, but I thought I would put it out there in case that is something you do regularly.

I can confirm the review written by MiAngel Cody. I have now called this branch over 20 times and each time I get the same automated message - "the person you are attempting to reach is unavailable." Holding for an operator yields even less results - the system simply disconnects you as there is apparently no operator available either. By the way, these calls were made starting in the morning through the bank's rather generous close time of 4 PM, but none have gone through. It's incredibly frustrating and one would think that the bank would have addressed this issue in the intervening 4 months since Cody's review. I have even called the direct line of Annie Zhang, the so-called "relationship manager" of the branch. She either no longer works at this branch or more likely but equally unacceptably has a policy of not answering / returning calls. Either way, it seems to me that the title of "relationship manager" is somewhat of a misnomer, as it would imply some form of two-way communication and not simply voice messages left unanswered on a machine. Frankly, Siri could do better.
