I'VE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND I LOVEDTHE ARTISTRY OF THE WORK PROVIDED, AND I HAD AN EXCELLENT RELATIONSHIP WITH DENA. SHE'S ONE OF THE MOST THOUGHTFUL PERSON THERE. BUT THAT OWNER CELINA IS THE DEVIL IN DIGUISE AND A REAL CROOK. I HAVE BEEN PAYING $180 OR MORE EVERY VISIT. BUYING THEM FOOD TO EAT, GIVING HER LARGE GARBAGE BAGS OF GENTLY USED AND NEW ITEMS TO SEND TO HER COUNTRY. SHE (CELINA) FINALLY PROMISED ME SERVICE FOR $150 AND THEN AFTER ATTEMPTING TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT SHE NEVER CALLED BACK WIRLTH THE TIME DENA COULD DO MY HAIR. WHEN I CALLED BACK SHE CONTINUED TO LIE. LADIES DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING CELINA SAYS. ALSO STAY WITH YOUR KIDS WHIKE SHE PROVIDE THE SERVICE. SHE WAS CHARGING $180 FOR THEIR WORK AND THOSE BIG BLOCKS AND HUGH BRAIDS SHE PUT ON THOSE KIDS HAIR IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. NEVER WILL I EVER RETURN THEIR AGAIN

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SHOP!!!!! Save Your Time & Money. I made an appointment with Celina on Tuesday, March 19th for Saturday, March 23th for kinky twists. I booked a Lyft and made it to the shop at 9:00 am. The place looks run down ragged and very dirty. Celina try’s to blow out my hair. I told her no because she didn’t have heat protection and I didn’t want to ruin my curl pattern as I’m natural. She then tells me to sit in her chair. I show her a picture of how I want my hair done. She then tells me that I need to buy the hair. I asked when I booked the appointment if I needed to buy hair? No, but when I get there now I need to buy hair. I asked where was the closest beauty supply she rudely tells me to Google and find it. I do I take another Lyft to the beauty supply and buy the hair. I take another Lyft back to the shop. She then tells me to sit down mind you now it’s 10:37am. I ask her how much (when I called she told $180). Now she tells me $230. I tell her I thought you said $180. She said $230. I said that’s $50 more. She said ok you can pay $200. I told her to pack my hair up. This isn’t the only hair braiding shop in Chicago I will find someone else to do it. I took another Lyft home. That’s was a total of four Lyfts. I would give zero stars if possible. If you don’t want to sit in a run down dirty place and over pay for poor work do not go here she plays like she can’t speak English. If a person can’t communicate with you how are they supposed to do your hair and you like the results. And trust I did find someone to do it and I love my hair.

They actually do very good quality work. The problem has been the owner will quote you a price and the braiders once they finish want a much higher price. This is consistent so for that reason alone I give it low rating and had to find another shop

very disappointed ! i pacifically took a picture to btraider and she told me she would and could deliver huh ! not thee case and mi hair came out so badd !after thee fact! dont do it sorry..i never asked for a mirror becuz i just knu she was doing like asked no! i got up and oh no she did n't and charged me a different price first $180 then 200 phtt! dam dam dam...

Yesterday was my first time coming here the lady that did my hair did a good job I love my hair I will definitely be back to get her to do my hair again

Came in on 10/14/23 for tribal braids after receiving a qoute for $180-200 I brought $200 which was my budget
Was told 15 minutes before a braider would get there
I went to McDonald’s to get coffee and the lady said will you be back? I said yes would you like a cup of coffee? She asked for an apple pie instead…No biggie I paid for it
When I sat in chair I told braider that I only have $200 and would cash app her the 30 bucks as I did.. afterwards she demanded 2 or 3 bucks for cash app fee I told her I would give it to her. I told her thank you for doing my hair she ignored me. The owner yelled at me and walked me to my car for 2 bucks. I was upset she begged me not to be upset . I will never go back.. they lost a potential new client for a .52 cent cash app fee on $30 buck payment. Which ultimately cost her hundreds of dollars because they won’t see me ever again.
Also the shop is really dirty and scary I should have never sat in her chair

Josephine is extremely rude. I have been a regular there for quite some time and I haven’t had a problem with my hair or my daughters hair until now. I was told that my daughters hair would be $180 for bohemian braids and I would have to purchase my own bohemian hair. I asked what type of hair that would be they just said bohemian crochet hair. When I got to the beauty supply I had to look up the type of hair I needed because there is no such thing as bohemian crochet hair. Then when my daughter gets to the appt they changed the price to $250 smh. I called 8 hours later to see if they were done with her hair and Josephine ignored my question and proceeded to continuously say pay now pay now! Never answered my question until I quick paid the money. I have them a pass the last time they did my daughters hair after having us come in at 9a and sitting until 2p waiting to get her hair braided. I’m going to find a new shop cause one more incident and I don’t know if I’ll be able to remain professional.

I have short hair & paid $230 for micros. I got my hair braided by Celina on Feb. 28th & it’s April 6th. When she was braiding them I moved my head a little & she said “you move your head & you will blame me when they don’t look good. Stop moving.” When she was done they looked ok even though I could still see my own hair in some of the braids. But not even a month later & I have braids that are unbraiding themselves all over my head because she didn’t use the glue to close them right. So if you have short hair I wouldn’t waste your time or money coming here.

Not what I asked for and this the 2nd time price changed after I got there. Never again will I visit this shop
