The apartment itself is nice and spacious. That’s it. There are zero amenities aside from a tiny gym with no air/heating and one working treadmill, and the price for that is crazy high. Oh, and the property management ignores your maintenance requests and emails. They also allow people to smoke weed and cigarettes in their apartments EVERY day so your apartment will also smell like that on a daily basis if you live here. They refuse to do anything about it and will just “resolve” your issue without even speaking to you. I cannot iterate enough that it smells like weed every single day inside my apartment. I can actually hear my neighbors coughing while they smoke, but the management says they can’t do anything unless I know exactly which resident it is. Not sure how I can know that without being in their physical apartment. You’ll never know whether you’ll come out to vomit in the hallways or food in the elevators. Not to mention both elevators have expired inspections for 5 months now. Packages are very frequently ripped into or stolen. It’s just genuinely a rip off of a price for the quality, lack of management , and lack of amenities.

I lived here in 2013. Day to day living was good enough. My biggest gripe was they made you either repaint yourself or forfeit whatever portion of the deposit it took to repaint. The management office was up north (I forget where) which made it inconvenient to do things like sign the lease. Now they are owned by a new company that already seems disengaged despite this being a recent change. I recently accidentally shipped a package to the building and I called management to arrange a pickup. The man on the phone said he couldn't buzz me in because the owner is still setting that up or something. He said MAYBE someone could get it then bring it to their Lincoln park office (again, inconvenient). He also claimed that he could tell a maintenance worker but again no guarantee. Then he said I should just go to the building in go in behind some that's coming out. I expressed that I was uncomfortable doing that bc I didn't want to spook the residents. I asked for the building managers email. Emailed and got no response. So I went to the building, walked in behind someone coming out. A maintenance worker happened to come by and reluctantly let me into the second locked entrance. My order came in three separate packages. One was ripped open and stolen. The worker took down my info and said they'd have someone check the cameras. I sent another email explaining what had happened and asked if they could just please respond so I know someone is aware of the issue. No response. So if you decide to live here beware they are encouraging random ppl to go into the building to access packages w/o granting entry on their part.

This building needs to leave south loop or have a management company that can find appropriate tenants. Don't take my word for it, Drive in front. Hang out for 10 minutes and see if yourself.

Speaking from my experience, I have had a great time so far. Everyone I've met working there including staff and maintenance has been quite helpful. Plus the lofts themselves are spacious and have those rustic details.

I live here now. there are constant public health and safety issues here. dogs frequently urinate and defecate in common areas including elevators and right outside the apartment. it's not cleaned for days if ever. I've had several things stolen out of the mailroom. I've been threatened in the hallway. the cops are always in and out of this building. the front door is broken often and is propped open creating a huge security risk. I've personally felt this is not a safe or healthy place to live and can not recommend this to anyone especially family with children or pets

Leasing agent treated me with absolute disdain when I asked her if I could bring her leasing manager copies of the past 6 months of my banking statements.I'm an independent contractor and have a LinkedIn account with 5,000 followers and connections and she blocked me from attempting to apply and pre-qualify for a loft here solely based on my profession. She brushed me off by openly admitting that unless I could show proof that I currently have 60,000 in my bank account that I wouldn't be accepted here for a loft.Funny because when I left and waited for my Uber to pick me up here after viewing 2 loft units here a rather casually dressed dude who definitely didn't look RICH just opened the door and I spoke to him about how I was treated. He said he "works" whatever that means ???? but that the building itself and the property "isn't even that special" and he laughed. So if you aren't employed by a company and you work for yourself the leasing agents might deny you housing here if you can't show that $60,000 is in your bank account because that's the excuse I was given. Now the neighborhood surrounding this area isn't that nice at all trust me because I had a look. There's a grocery store nearby and then blocks of absolutely NOTHING to do so you obviously need a car or you will need to hop on a bus to get to downtown Chicago from the building's NOT SO EXCITING and "industrial" location. I saw a rather large freight train ???? nearby so I'm assuming if your loft faces the train ???? tracks you may have to experience train noises too ????Based on all these 1 star ???? reviews though and warnings from long-term tenants I was obviously saved from being a tenant from a leasing agent demanding 60,000 in my bank account in order for me to be considered here. This was absolutely unfair treatment and someone should alert the BBB on these people and the fair housing bureau because I highly doubt everyone here who currently lives in these lofts has $60,000 in their checking or savings account to pre-qualify as a tenant at this out dated loft property.

Entry door lock system is a bit tricky.....and theres quite a few stairs before you get to the elevator.... unless you can get into the basement garage then there are ramps. A friend stays here and the train noise can be a lil abrasive, and lets not get started on the neighbors above him. Most of the time it sounds like they are in the unit with him! The gym looks nice! The door to the storage lockers is always open ????. The curb in front of the building doesn't slope going towards the underpass so in some parts it' comes half way up your car door....in my half a dozen visits ive either nearly fallen climbing up to the sidewalk or have witnessed someone damage their vehicle by opening a passenger side door. But what are your options do you get out of your car and walk in the middle of traffic to get to the corner where the curb is a reasonable height or do you risk it? I don't know but I think they could have designed some type of driveway for the front of the building at least for people catching Ubers and deliveries and things because it's a nightmare especially with traffic. But I don't have to live there. Other than that it seems like a pretty nice place.
