Great resource for hard to find snacks or basic Asian culinary staples. If you are a newbie and seeking to experiment... take a moment to make a list -- and include both Vietnamese and Chinese names for items such as herbs or veggies. Don't forget the seaweed-wrapped pretzels or the easy to prepare frozen dumplings. Also -- Ponzu is as little as 1/3 the cost of Whole Foods.

As a loyal customer who has been shopping here at least twice a week for the past four years, I have always appreciated the wide variety of Taiwanese produce available. However, I have recently noticed an increasing number of expired products on your shelves.Today, again, I encountered several expired items during my shopping trip, and I must admit that this was the final straw for me. Get your quality control and service sorted PTS.

This Park to Shop is the biggest Asian grocery store in the Argyle Chinatown area and anchors a strip mall with a good sized parking lot. The lot is large for the congested Uptown area that is, but it's definitely a good feature. It's a good Asian grocery to shop in a much more relaxed and less congested style than say the popular kingpin of grocery stores in Argyle Chinatown and that would be Tai Nam Food Market. Park to Shop is the biggest Chinese grocery chain in Chicagoland and they will have just about anything you might be looking for. This particular location first opened 4 years ago when Park to Shop started expanding and took over the Win Sing Supermaket that was here. Their prices may be a bit higher than say Tai Nam but the convenience is worth it to some folks. I say some and not many because in comparing the two just today, it was on the quiet side here, but you know how it goes with finicky, eagle-eyed, and tightwad Asian shoppers!

A vegetarian/vegan dream store for groceries! Plenty of options for dietary restrictions, heaps to choose from in terms of fruit and veggies!

Good selection of fresh produce, meat, and Asian sauces. Should definitely be open later than 8.

First of first, they should have modified their open hours on both Google and Yelp as soon as they can. Online it showed the closing time's 8:30pm today, yet the store posted a sign at the entrance saying the closing time's 8pm. No way that you would know the change unless seeing the sign when you are there physically, or call ahead (maybe?). What's worse. I arrived at 7:50pm with some other customers. The door was already closed and they only allowed people to leave but no more entering for new customers. There came a guy who was guarding the door and he told us that the store was closing while pointing at the open hours sign repeatedly, like we were the rude ones who insisted to shop outside of their operating hours. Wow. Just. Unbelievable. Common sense is, of course I wouldn't step into a restaurant 10 mins before their closing time knowing that the staff probably don't get overtime. But hey this is a small size Asian mart, and they thought we would be wandering around aisle by aisle, having no clue what we need for more than 15 mins? Lord help me. Changing store hours without changing it online is one thing. Still being in the open hours but turning customer away is another. Either way, I would rather drive further to other businesses than coming back to this one again.

How can a store sell expired food, and then when you tell them they refuse to serve you period now. My friend wanted to use the bathroom, so they bought and still sold my friend the EXPIRED food, and as they wanted to use the bathroom you said no?! But let someone else use it! My friend ACTUALLY bought the illegal substance that was on your shelve and now can’t use the bathroom?!? This makes no sense. You need the health inspector in there. This is ridiculous. If it’s not a pandemic removing us from this world, it’s consumer stored who don’t care whether their customers get sick or don’t. Worst experience ever.

Had a good experience myself, bought an item and asked to use the bathroom and they let me but they sold my friend an expired item and refused to let him use the bathroom. They also argued with him and told him it wasn’t expired when they date said 2022

They had several Japanese items that I've had a hard time finding elsewhere - Kubota mochi, Otafuku okonomi and yakisoba sauces, and Golden Curry. They also had a whole aisle of ramen and noodles.

A few weeks ago when I was on the south side, I stopped in Chinatown to get some rice noodles and stopped at Park to Shop down there. It was only AFTER that I found out that they have another location in Uptown, a mile from my house. Apparently they've been in the shopping center across from the Broadway post office for about four years now, but I never had a clue. I liked this location more not just because of the convenience factor of being in my neighborhood, but also because it's a lot more comfortable to shop. The aisles were much larger so you weren't squeezing by folks when trying to see all the goodies. The produce and fish/meat sections also seem much larger. So overall the store has a bigger footprint than the one in Chinatown. They also had merchandise at this store that I didn't see at the other, such as woks, bowls, and other such items. Parking is so-so. The parking lot itself isn't necessarily small, but there's a lot of businesses that share this lot and some of the spots are marked specifically for those businesses. For instance, the medical office here has about 10 spaces that are for their patients only. But given the location it's within a few blocks of the Wilson station, the Argyle station, and (when renovation is complete) the Lawrence station, as well as the bus lines, so there's lots of options for getting here if driving isn't your choice.
