In march I reached out to Brighton to follow up on getting a new front door. The customer service was slow. Laura was easy to work with but Steve was always delayed or rushed, like you were bothering him or he was too busy to help. I could not get him to come by my home to offer any assistance in trying to select a door. Laura spent time helping me online. I finally did all my own self research sent exact door and glass selections and weeks went by with no response. I finally get a call one weekday afternoon at work from Steve saying it would be easier to come by to show me some things to make the quote, he offers a Tue AM , I tell him I work 8am-5pm and will send dates and times that work in the coming weeks after work hours or weekends. From that point forward I got ghosted by both Steve and Laura with no response when trying to schedule. How can you expect a person to take time off their job to meet with you for a 10k or more project. The ghosting was completely rude after months of leading me down a path they were open to the job. I would not do business with this company they are not professional at all and Steve is unorganized and not interested in the needs of the customer.

Let me start off by saying they do good work for the most part. I can't deny that. They remodeled my bathroom, replaced two doors, and also used them to replace the old roof I had. The work they did was good, the very last job is where the hiccup is. On the roof work there was an issue with the chimney after the workers left. The little cap that would be on a chimney had fallen off after a few days. I called and told Steve about it and I was told he would look into getting someone out to fix it. This was in 2021. Now it is 2023 and nothing ever did come about this. I know Steve had said his worker that does this is pretty sick, I understand that but I ask is there no one else that can get this work done at all? I was patient for a long while, waiting all of 2022. Finally this year in 2023 I hired another company to put the top on since I kept fearing that an animal would try to make a nest in there. Luckily that never happened. That wasn't the final issue, I still wanted to hire them to do a bit of extra work. So I called on 03/21/23 and asked if Steve was still there. I was told he just stepped out so I left a message with the person who picked up if he could please call me back since I wanted to talk about the chimney issue (I was going to explain that I finally had someone else fix it) and that I needed something else worked on in the bathroom. It is now 03/28/23 and I never heard back. Not sure what happened, again for the most part they do a really good job. Just weird how this all fell downhill once one issue arose that could not be addressed. It all kind of snowballed after that. I wanted to continue doing business with them but it seems that will not be happening.Service: Roof repair

I contacted Brighton Doors for a quote regarding replacing an old exterior wood door. Tim promptly set up a non-obligation appointment to meet. He explained all of my style options and pricing and advise me to contact him when I was ready. Tim was professional, answered all questions and promptly got back to me whenever I left messages. My door arrived in the time stated and was installed by Carlos who was also very professional and did an excellent job of my installation. My door matched my décor perfectly! Brighton Doors is an honest, reasonably prices service oriented and professional company that stands by their products. I highly recommend this company!Service: General door installation

Wowwwww! Brighton Home Products has done another impeccable job at my home. First job I had done was a steel door and they done an incredible job so I called them to replace a 35 year old picture window set in the front of my home. The job was professionally done and the cleanup was done with care. I have used several contractors since owning my home and Brighton Home Products is in the top 3. They are trustworthy, reliable and honest about your home product needs. They been in business for over 50 years and know home remodeling and products. Finding a remodeling company you can rely on and trust is hard to find. I will call Brighton Home Products for my future home remodeling needs.

If I could give this business 1/2 stars I would. We needed a new front porch as our brick and concrete porch was giving way. This is a big job for us because our roof is partially supported by the porch. Steve came out and looked the porch over and we told him we wanted a wooden porch and it needed to be Brazilian hardwood. He came back with an estimate which was high but knowing that wood was expensive we said ok. Signed the contract on June 2 and gave him 1/3 down and was told it would be a couple of weeks. We wanted to have a city permit because we didn't want any trouble with the construction. The couple of weeks turned into 3 1/2 months before started the job and a few thousand extra that he didn't tell us about up front. One happened to be that he did not have a current license with the city. The job would have taken even longer if I hadn't gotten involved and contacted my alderman who put me in touch with the city building department. I ended up having to get the permit put through, even though Steve hired an expediator to do it, at an addition large cost to us. I also ended up getting the inspections scheduled because Steve didn't know how to do it! The only saving grace in this whole process was the carpenter, Jan. He did an amazing job on our porch! Wish we could have just hired him and not gone through Brighton.

It went very well. The initial meeting was informative and detailed. The follow-up was complete and helpful. The actual installation and repair was out standing. Carlos the repair person was professional, thorough and very knowledgeable. Overall a good experience.

We recently had some security/storm doors replaced at my mother’s home along with weather sealing around the main entry doors. Tim G. was our contact person from start to finish. We received another quote from a company that specialized in these types of doors, but they were overpriced and the salesperson never returned our calls for further questions or concerns. Tim from Brighton Home Products, however, was very responsive with any questions I had, contacted me to confirm some possible changes to the door styles and confirmed it before ordering them. He was so pleasant to work with. Carlos installed our doors and he pointed out some issues that may come up with installing the doors, contacted Tim and between the two of them, was able to work out a plan so that our installation was done properly and to our satisfaction. The weather sealing around our entry doors turned out great as well!I am very happy and satisfied with the work and the service received. I highly recommend this company for your replacement door needs. Ask for Tim for quotes - he’s great to work with. Carlos for installation as well! Glad I found this home improvement company in our area.Service: General door installation

AVOID! Steve Draths from Brighton Home Products was referred to me for window & skylight replacement. He seemed inconsiderate from the beginning ( no mask, didn't offer to wear one, even though I was masked). He lied to me 3 times and said "you'll have the estimate tomorrow" after I followed up numerous times via email/text/voicemail. Huge waste of time. If he didn't want to do the job he should have just said so instead of lying over and over again.

The installation mostly went well. The installer showed up on time, hauled everything up three flights of stairs (making several trips) and worked efficiently. My only problem with the installation was that the sealing and painting of the window frame was left to me, a detail that was never shared until after installation. I feel like Brighton should have made that clear ahead of time. Here's why I won't hire Brighton again. When I put out a request for a quote back in November, the Brighton rep, Steve, was at my building within 48 hours. After accepting the quote and placing a deposit, I barely heard from him. We waited almost five months for installation from time of deposit and, for the first three months or so there was zero communication by Brighton. I reached out and was told that there were supply issues getting my window in which I completely understand. COVID has messed everything up and I know it's not Brighton's fault. This is bigger than all of us. I do wish, however, that someone would have reached out to me just to give me a heads up. From that point forward I reached out every so often for updates, often never hearing back. It was only when I called the office and asked to speak to Steve that I made some headway. The office asked what my call was regarding and I said, "the several emails he hasn't responded to." Following this exchange, Steve was in contact with me but there were constant delays due to weather--which I completely understand--but the reschedule was always, "hey, we'll be there tomorrow." I mean, I have a job. I need notice. I'm not on call for this. And when they cancelled--again, usually due to reasonable circumstances--it was at the last minute. TL:DR - installation was fine, the process leading up to it was enormously frustrating and lacked communication.

Contacted Brighton for a quote as they seem to be one of the few places in Chicago that does custom awning / canopy work for residential buildings. They were quick to get back to us and one of their estimators came out a couple of days later while he was in the area for a different customer. Their estimator was on time and very courteous, but didn't ask a lot of questions. In talking with him, he indicated they typically worked with wood and brick, and I responded that we specifically wanted something made from metal and glass. Estimator left after about 15 mins. And that's basically the last I heard from them. I didn't hear anything from them for 10 days, so dropped an email asking for an update, was told the estimator was working on something and would get back to me. Didn't hear anything for another 10 days, so sent another follow up email. To help with the estimating, I took the time to sketch up a possible solution and sent it along with the follow up email. Did get a reply back from the estimator stating there was a delay in the estimate because their carpentry lead had contracted Covid. I expressed my sympathies over the situation, but reminded them we wanted to use metal and glass only. It's been another 20 days and still haven't heard anything back, so giving up on them. TL/DR: Quick to come out for the estimate, zero follow up, they aren't comfortable working with metal and glass
