Four stars for now. Maybe it will change to five, I hope so!
I wish they'd let me know when removal of those noisy air machines outside of my apartment which were put there after last week's fire is scheduled because they're causing me a lot of headache, literally. Since last Saturday, been a week. I've asked and received no answer.

Bad management I’ve been waiting for them to fix a crack in my sick for over a month. Today they changed all the exterior door locks with out telling any tenants and no way to get new keys. They don’t care about tenants.

Becovic is a callous gentrifying force on the northside of the city of chicago. The properties that I have seen have been horribly maintained, and they have exorbidant costs compred to the (lack of) quality of the housing.

I like it here. Been with them 3 years and had very few issues. Any issue I do have they fix immediately for me. The people in the office are nice and Nate the maintenance head is on top of things. Only four stars because I don’t know if the cameras in my building work yet but if they do I will give them 5. Apartments are nice, clean upon move in, nice upgrades. Building has a basic gym (not that I use it). I’ve lived at 3 properties of theirs and I liked them all. I wish they would get some buildings in wicker park or Logan square or Avondale because I want to move back to that area but I want to stay with the company. Overall I like Becovic a lot. I hope the rents stay affordable.

Had a great experience virtually viewing Becovic apartments with Cooper’s help! He was so sweet, made honest recommendations, answered any questions I had, and walked me through every step of the application process. He really went above and beyond! I’m very grateful for Cooper’s help and how seamless searching for an apartment has been with Becovic.

Literally the worst property company I’ve seen in the years I’ve been in Chicago. Where to start? Cockroaches either crawling or dead in the entry room. Cockroaches in the apartment and floorboards? Having the only two entrances into the building powered by that butterfly XM panel (when that tornado hit over the summer and near July 4th, panel went out and people couldn’t get in), like seriously no keys? Bed bugs on a separate floor and no one doing anything about it? Hidden fees for everything and charging way too much for such apartments that need renovations, exterminations, a dishwasher, etc). Buying up numerous properties on the north side only to jack up rent and not do anything to actually improve the apartment (adding a granite counter and painting the walls white isn’t doing something). You’ll also notice how on the reviews they only respond to 5 stars but won’t respond to criticism for reviews with 1 star. Furthermore, their communication sucks. When I call to ask questions sometimes they’re helpful, sometimes the lady I talk to will be rude, laugh at me, and hang up. When I tried contacting one of their offices to ask a question, I tried over several days and no one answered. I had to demand a manager and finally for one.
For the love of god don’t rent from them. If you’re a type of person who cares about who your dollars goes to (I’m somewhat of a “vote with your dollars” person), don’t support Becovic. For people who have “Neighborhood, Community, Home” as their slogan, they don’t care about any of those

RENTER BEWARE!!!! You do not want to rent with this company. Becovic is one of the most HORRIBLE apartment rental companies in Chicago. Their employees are rude and carry the utmost unprofessionalism I’ve ever seen in the history of property rental managemnt. They charge tenants extra money on their leasing portal for internal sewage piping, something they are responsible for and their apartments are rehabed with extremely cheap fixtures that are temporary band aids from problems with the prior tenant that was in the units.
Their buildings are infested with rodents, insects and roaches and common maintenance requests are told to be directed to 311.They also have cameras on their properties that DO NOT WORK which result in packages being stolen and taken from your building with no reconciliation.
What kind of bootleg company is this? UNACCEPTABLE!!!
Becovic is an entire scam and as a consumer it is unfair for anyone to treat tenants the way they do. Again… RENTER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

Jim was great , we only originally went to see one apartment ended up seeing 3. Found one we liked. He answered all our questions about each unit with no hesitation. He made sure we updated right away through the application process. Answer all our texts right away. I also appreciate the work orders he put in right away, had some things on the windows and walls. I felt he did a great job overall

First and foremost I want to thank Jim for making this experience extremely enjoyable for my Fiancée and I . We originally reached out for a unit in a different location. After a brief discussion while touring he went above and beyond and asked my fiancé and I if we would mind looking at a different location because there was a unit that would fit exactly what we were looking for . And by gosh if he was not RIGHT . The unit and building was exactly what we were looking for . Jim was very pleasant and personable. He made us very comfortable with the experience from start to finish . If you are looking for someone to be honest hardworking and easy to work with . I suggest Jim .I would give this experience 10/10 highly recommend .

I have been a tenant of 1303 W Estes for over a year now. Last week (April 21 2024) I started seeing German Cockroaches ALL over my apartment (Kitchen, Living Room, Bedroom, Bathroom) I contacted Becovic and they sent out Pest Control to my unit, all they did was just spray the baseboards which REALISTICALLY is not going to solve the problem because once the residual wears off, the roaches will just come back. The unit across me recently became vacant and I took a step inside there to see if the renovators noticed roaches in that apartment, when I walked in I was greeted with HUNDREDS of German Roaches all over the floor, all over the walls, and in essentially EVERY CORNER. I ran over to my apartment to get some Raid, and just started spraying everywhere in vacant apartment. I called Becovic to have exterminators come to the site IMMEDIATELY and start dealing with this issue. NOBODY showed up, I waited and watched through my window ALL evening. It's now the weekend and their office is closed. It's easy for Becovic to not follow up with issues like this because at the end of the day It's not their place that's flooded with disgusting roaches right?? The tables would be completely reversed if these issues affected the staff at Becovic personally. To all the potential tenants looking to rent at 1303 W Estes, save your self the hassle and NEVER rent in this building. I can't WAIT for my lease to end so I can get out of this building. Do NOT be fooled by their nicely renovated apartments. The buildings are falling apart. Also the maintenance staff says the SAME thing on the phone when you call them, "I'll follow up" it's almost like an AI recording. I've spent $180 buying Bug Sprays, Diatomaceous Earth, Roach Motels, and Roach Bait Gel. I shouldn't be having to do all this if Becovic genuinely followed up on the condition of an apartment once a tenant moved out. The amount of roaches in apartment 1W will require EXTENSIVE work to remove and eradicate. Everything I have stated in this review is honest and genuine.

I want to commend Jordan L for his patient assistance in getting my son a place to live. He was very thorough and checked on us repeatedly to make sure we got things done in a timely manner.
He also kept checking up on us regarding getting covered parking and I think was pushing the office to not forget about it.
I liked his personality (he and I are the same generation) and he was very understanding and encouraging with our particular situation. A personable, cheerful, not pushy person who was a pleasure to work with.
It’s too soon to tell about the apartment itself since my son is moving in today. We chose The Duplex Tower and it’s being completely renovated so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there won’t be any major issues.
