I was flying in from Philly for a weekend and Ms Kennedy went out of her way to give me a chance to tour during a busy time. She was so kind and helpful with answering all my questions.

The new management that took over (it’s august 2024) has completely changed the place for the BETTER. I feel safe, happy, comfortable and at home here now 24-7. I would recommend renting here! I went to DePaul and living here was super close to campus and helped me finish my master’s!

Highly disappointed. My apartment has been plagued by roaches ever since I moved in September 2023. I have spoken to the administrator about it numerous times. Chanelle, the previous property manager was very diligent about it and she made sure that pest services came every month. Ever since it has been awful. Not a recommendable experience.

Building itself is not bad at all after the renovations, the on property repair man is super nice and responsive to any issues as well, he fixes them in a timely manner and is a great guy. That's about where the positives end. The management of this building is terrible. They have loud construction being done in the early AMs waking people up. If you have an issue that needs to be resolved through management, good luck. Lease was signed WITH WiFi being provided by the building. WiFi could not be setup because my unit was not wired properly, easy fix just needed to be rewired right? Wrong, been waiting for about 2 months and no one has gotten back to me about when I will be receiving my services. At this point I have no idea if my unit will be receive the WiFi that I was told I'd have when I signed the lease, which is an important aspect to me since I am a full time student and do a lot of work remotely. Avoid moving here, I am sure there are other places that will uphold leases they provide and overall have a better management.
UPDATE: I am updating my review to 4 stars just because of Zerlina Kennedy the new property manager of 420 W Fullerton Pkwy. After I explained my WiFi issues with her she immediately was super helpful and called the Xfinity team with me in order to see if they could send someone out here to schedule a re-wiring of my unit. Within a week she was able to get the process sorted out and got me an appointment to have my unit re-wired so I could start accessing my WiFi. From there the on property repair man Scott was amazing as always and updated me on the whole process and when it was completed. The new management team here cares, they've even been fixing issues that have been looming for a while now, such as loose doorknobs, locks only working at specific angles, etc. all without having to lodge any sort of complaint to management. They are proactive about fixing issues and are very nice as well. The construction noises have even been lowered and they have started to do them during the later parts of the day as to not wake anyone up at 8 AM if they are trying to sleep in a little longer. To anyone thinking about moving here now, I will say the building itself is a little old so some maintenance issues arise every so often, however with the new management team and the amazing repairman they usually get it fixed within a day. They have good affordable options and even short team leases for students and are quite close to Fullerton which is convenient. I would recommend this place now, just know that it is a little on the older side but after converting your apartment with some decorations and such it is hard to even notice.

My experience with Beachwalk apartments was deeply unsatisfactory. Not only did they fail to respond to my inquiries about a refund before processing my application, but they also took out money without authorization, which felt like a violation of trust. I have tried emailing,calling,so I’m resorting to reviews until they do what’s right. I want my 470 bucks back in my acct or I’m filing a claim for fraud with my bank. I only put my info on the app not my co-signers,yet the website submitted it and took out money. I do not want to be screened for Beachwalk as I have found elsewhere. At first I wanted to but no one ever responds so I’m done. Much better companies out there to do business with.
Their behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their integrity as a business. I strongly caution others to beware of these concerning practices before considering Beachwalk apartments. Shady practices all around. Do not apply.
