We have 3 dogs and they loved going there one of our dogs has a food allergy and cannot have anything but what we feed him and there were no issues with that. We were gone for a week and when we came back they were happier than ever and seemed to have a blast!! I would definitely recommend!

We love Jeff! Our rambunctious 1.5 year old English Springer Spaniel is with Jeff once a week for doggy daycare. He is so flexible and truly the nicest guy.

Jeff is the best. We have left our pup with him many times, overnight or for just the day. We know she is in wonderful care at Bark Side.

We always leave our beagle with Jeff when we are out of town, although we live on the south side of the city and getting to Andersonville is a trek. We love the fact that she is not caged, can lounge on a couch, and goes to walks four times a day. We never got a call when we were away and always found her happy and healthy. We trust Jeff.

We took our dog here for her first time being boarded, she was there for a total of about 4 days. I could not be happier with our experience! They followed all care instructions I provided and she had someone to cuddle with at night. ?? My dog is happy and healthy and had a good, safe stay. We’ll definitely be returning!!

Jeff is so kind and genuinely cares for each dog as if it was his own. We have dropped our doggo off for multiple night stays a few times and are very happy with the care he received. A few different places were suggesting that we bring in our dog 2-3 times before he could stay with them. That seemed quite excessive. Jeff recommended once, which is all that was needed. Our dog can be temperamental, but was at ease with Jeff. We are very grateful for Bark Side!

I found Bark Side of the Moon while planning my first trip away from home since 2020. Lil Ricky (my senior chihuahua) is a special flower, and 2 years of being home with his family made him (and I!) particularly nervous about being separated from his humans and his home. But Jeff at Bark Side made sure Ricky felt safe and cared for. I appreciate that, unlike some doggy daycares, Bark Side has a more mellow, chill vibe, which is perfect for my older, smaller dog. It was clear from pictures and reports that Ricky felt at ease while boarding with Jeff. We will definitely be using Bark Side again and recommend other pet parents check them out!

I've heard great things about this place, however I've called multiple times, left a message, emailed and I can't seem to get ahold of anyone. I was interested in boarding my dog here, but I'd rather go someshere that gets back to you. Idk... seems reasonable.

My dog is very shy around new people and I was nervous leaving her for the first time. Within a few days she was so excited, she was sprinting into daycare. The owner takes great care of the dogs and I feel happy knowing I’m leaving my dog in great hands.

I took my dog Bjaki to Bark Side of the Moon for years at their old location (Clark St - across from Jewel).Bjarki was a rescue with severe separation anxiety because as a puppy (4 mo) she was abandon in her home, tied to the banister with no food or water for many days before being discovered. I needed a place she would feel safe while I was at work. I tried a handful of Doggy Day Cares, most of where dogs were crated. Being high anxiety and a Houdini, she escaped most confinements, then I found Jeff. He was very caring and after a few visits to Bark Side, she was absolutely at home relaxing to Jeff playing the guitar and having her own lounge space on a comfy chair or couch. enjoying him and the company of the other dogs.I have to share a story with you. One morning I was dropping off Bjarki. When you entered the facility the entryway had a window cutout open to open area where the dogs were. The dogs could hear the street noise when the door opened and would bark in unison to see who was arriving next. That day it was silent. I looked through the window cutout and all the dogs were sitting calm and quiet. When Jeff answered the door separating the entry from the "Dog Lounge" I asked him why the dogs were so quiet? He pointed to the stereo and said "Book on Tape".....Hahaha. Amazing I thought!!!!This is surely Jeff's calling. Dogs do not need or want a "Spa" experience, they simply want to be loved and in Bjarki's sake, safe.Unfortunately Bjarki's time here on earth came to and end, but Jeff and Bark Side was a true Godsend for me and Bjarki.Thank you Jeff!!!

The fella running this business has his heart in making sure pups are comfortable. The dogs get couches to relax on and walks. Chilling is what they really want to do at home, but sadly the owner is out of town an lucky them, they get to stay on a couch and relax until they return. Keep in mind if you call he might be out walking a dog, but he is good about returning messages.

We love Jeff and Barkside. No longer live close enough to make frequent daycare practical, but we go out of the way to bring the dogs for overnight boarding when we go away.

I would recommend bark side of the moon to everyone in Chicago. A very nice play with very nice people! My two boys can’t WAIT to go back!
