I don’t recommend coming here, they honestly have no idea what they’re doing one vet tried telling me my dog needs surgery which cost 3k another said he’s fine and nothings wrong. They also lie about there prices and if you need to go back for a second round of shots you’ll have to pay another 70$ office visits.

Go to another vet if possible! They don't care about your pet at all. If I could rate them zero stars, I would! I scheduled an appointment for my cat, but it got canceled and rescheduled a few hours before my appointment. It has already happened a couple of times. Don't waste your time here! They just don't care!

I brought my dog here for years, over 8 years because I entrusted her care into these peoples hands. I’ve never regret anything in my life but with so much certainty I absolutely REGRET ever entrusting care to Banfield Pet Hospital. My dog always had blood work done her check ups as always. Come to 2022 my dog started limping and had a ball growing on her elbow. I took her in numerous times and was told it’s arthritis here take medication so we did medication and shots for about 6 months nothing changed they took X-rays everything looks ok. December of 2022 I scheduled an appointment with a vet hospital who requested said X-rays from these people and they refused to provide the X-rays. Turns out my dog had cancer that grew around her elbow. Additionally, my dog had balls all over her body to what they said was just balls of fat. Again incorrect some of those balls where cancer. She had two masses in her GI track that where cancer. My dog diagnosed with TWO TYPES OF CANCER. My dog declined within 2 months of this. I lost my dog March 2023 due to the negligee of banfield I can only think would I have known sooner and tackled this from the beginning my dog would have a chance a stronger change to fight! I called to cancel my insurance that they bill monthly to be told I had to keep it until July. I explained my dog passed away they didn’t care they said I still had to pay this until then, not a worry for your loss or some compassion nothing. That response confirmed that all this company wants is your money. THIS COMPANY DOESNT CARE FOR YOUR PET THEY ONLY CARE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!I’m not the only person this has happened to! I would never trust banfield again! I’ve heard so many stories and I always spoke highly of them but I couldn’t have been more incredibly wrong about banfield

The care itself is fine typically, but reaching the office by call is almost impossible. If you managed to get a hold of someone, you’ll likely be on hold until they decide to hang up on you. You MUST go in person if you want someone to talk to.Don’t get the wellness plan, get proper pet insurance for your pet.Find a different vet to take your pets to.

I do NOT recall WHO recommended that I obtain a membership with Banfield Pet Hospital, neither here or there ‼It has been the WORST CARE SERVICE I've experienced in life...... all within a 30-45 day period!Just FUCKING HORRIBLE Today, I took Chloe in for "preventive" Dental Care.... in short, a cleaning!Well, she was Doubled Vaccinated...... she did NOT REQUIRE ANY vaccines until Nov '23Rabies/DAPP/Leptospirosis/BordetellaNot to Mention: Double Dosed on Simpatica Trio Caramel (flea/tick/Heartworm) "This Month"I am CLUELESS on the level of NEGATIVE physical health ramifications of the CARELESS ACTIONS of this "so call" PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL TEAM has caused today‼ COMPLETE MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE Is Chloe's life in DANGER???? I'm so fuc'n serious right now! Why /How did this happen to my Baby! As humans, being OVER MEDICATED can and has caused severe issues instantly and later long term illinesses‼I can tell she is exhausted, plus she have NO Bark in herThey treated her as if "TODAY" was very 1st day, stepping in their office! Chloe is/was up to date on ALL her vaccines, b4 I EVER heard of the Banfield NamePlus, they documented ALL her Records weeks b4 our actual first visit..... July 20th-Comprehensive Exam.....Also, given again TODAY‼I won't go over the fact that the clerk entered us on the WRONG OWP Plan, and refused to admit her error; which took 3wks to correct OMG..... I am so devastated, confused, frustrated..... READY TO WRAP MY DAMN HANDS AROUND ONE OF THOSE 20'somthangs necks.... So-Called Care Techs.....uggggghhhhI'm DEFINITELY calling CORPORATE TO CANCEL Care Contract‼They can't be the best thang going here in Chicago!Multiple Locations is not representative of true provider of Excellent Service DO NOT BE FOOLED..... I have their pet insurance but I often feel like I'm just wasting money. Recently I took my dog to get a growth removed from her behind. They said they did not have any vets experienced in this and I should go to a more equipped hospital. At this point, I may as well cancel the insurance and save money foe when I need to take her to the vet.

I had the Banfield Wellness Plan for 8 years; my beloved pet, Gilligan, died this year in March 2023. I have tried to cancel the Banfield Wellness plan and was informed by their customer service rep that I am unable to cancel this plan because they paid out more for his care than I had paid into the plan by my monthly payments and they will continue billing me until they recoup their fees until August 2023. I initially purchased this wellness plan to ensure my dog would get the best care. At the end of his life, I was immensely dissatisfied with his treatment at Banfield. Gilligan was diagnosed with diabetes prior to his final day. I don’t think we received the best care at Banfield with this diagnosis as I was not informed he needed to be regularly monitored. We should have had some kind of daily testing to see where his glucose levels were. We didn’t receive any of that. All I was told was “just give him his daily shots and he’ll be okay”. Gilligan went into crisis on March 25, 2023 while we were in Chicago. I called the South Loop Banfield to get him some kind of care, was informed their vets didn’t show up so they couldn’t see him. South Loop Banfield referred me to Gold Coast Banfield who also had no staff and their office was over run by calls from South Loop Banfield. We couldn’t get him seen at either of these locations so we tried the Banfield off 95th in Chicago. By this time, they wouldn’t see him and we had to go to MedVet who wanted 2000.00 per day for 5 days and 1300.00 deposit for one day of care. I ultimately had to make the decision to let Gilligan go. So 14 years of love, care and companionship went down the drain because Banfield does not provide their vet business with doctors. I found out that because it was a Monday, their vets have the option to not show up. In trying to get Gilligan care, we called back to the South Loop and Gold Coast locations only to discover they turned their phones off. You could only get an automated number. At this point, I feel scammed. I have found out that I only provided passive income to Banfield. They were never really interested in care for my pet. They were only interested in the money. I would have been better served if I had just set aside the 40 or 50.00 per month instead of sending it to Banfield to help them keep their lights on. We did not receive the service or the care that we paid for and that Gilligan deserved. I would recommend that you forego these wellness plans as they are just cons to get your money. When you rely on Banfield for services, you will find out you’re not a priority and they only see you as a means to get money from you. Do your research first. These wellness plans are not the option and was an 8 yr waste of money. I don’t even want to go back and calculate how much money I actually spent with them only for Banfield to tally up how much they paid against how much they felt I owed on a wellness plan. If I could give Banfield zero stars I would.

I have been taking my dog to Banfield for years. It hasn't been until the last year or so I have started having issues, and at multiple Banfield locations. I would give this review ZERO stars if I could.First, they trap you into the Banfield wellness plan and do not allow you to cancel the plan, even if they are not providing you with appropriate access to care. I live closest to the South Loop location and it is impossible to get ahold of a single member of their staff. For months, any time that I have called, no one answers and you get automatically sent to a recorded line saying they are experiencing a high call volume and to leave a message and they will call you back. The issue is, they do not call you back for several days, if ever at all. It is impossible to get an appointment or seek medical help if ever in need.My dog injured her leg on Saturday. To no surprise, the South Loop location did not answer nor did they ever call me back after leaving a message. I then called the Gold Coast location which is further and less convenient for me. They told me that no one could see my pet that day but that they could get her in first thing Monday morning. I confirmed they were aware Monday (today) was a holiday and they replied that they were indeed aware and were still open. So, I am up headed to the vet Monday morning to my scheduled appointment and of course, THEY ARE CLOSED.WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!!!!!! How can one be so unprofessional and inadequate?! Yet, I am expected to continue paying them monthly for their services ------ what services exactly, I am not sure.Do yourself a favor and invest in a higher quality vet for your pet.

We have a wellness plan at Banfield for our dog. They never answer the phone or return phone calls, so I’m not sure what we’re paying them for. Look elsewhere if you actually want care for your dog.

I avoid face-to-face contact as much as possible. Recently I had to call and inquire about Banfield denying my dogs flea&tick/heartworm prevention. Nobody has any knowledge as to why they told the pharmacy that my pup wasn’t their client. Awful. Talk about disappointment. I never had an issue with Banfield until this situation.
