Worst place please don’t go here if you care for your loved one. I took my friend to the ER for psych evaluation after being referred to another psychiatrist to get admitted for hallucination. But they released the patient in 1 hour without proper diagnosis, evaluation, checkup, or informing us! Thank god the person came back home safe! This is worst hospital. AND THE PEOPLE ARE VERY RUDE DONT WANT TO HELP. Donot go!!

My mother has gone to this hospital twice in the last week with high blood pressure, headache, dizziness, chest pain, and neck pain. The first visit showed an abnormal EKG and they left her in the hallway with no help. She told them she was still feeling disoriented and dizzy and they told her she needed to go home. Today, she called her NW cardiologist who told her to go to the ER and a team was waiting to help her. She went to the NW urgent care near her home who told her that she should be seen at the ER due to her symptoms. 5 1/2 hours later and there was no team to take care of her and she is still in the waiting room. How US News ranked them so high is beyond my knowledge. I called three times to get some answer and I was put on hold for 15 min the first time, sent to a number that rang for 5 minutes and then sent me to the main switch board and the third time I couldn’t get through. Very disappointed.

This is by far the best hospital in the country. My wife had complications with her pregnancy and the hospital staff were bar none the greatest! There is no comparison!

Will not ever go here again. I have been a big advocate of Northwestern medicine and was graduate of a Northwestern medical program and I will never go to Northwestern agin after my last visit. I went to the ER and waited over 5 hours to be admitted, while I was there the care was standard but very slow. The primary issue is their billing. I had a CT scan done while in the ER and have since had another CT at another hospital system in downtown Chicago. Northwestern charged (and was contractually negotiated down with insurance) to over 22 times what another area hospital billed for the exact same service (same CPT code). My overall experience elsewhere was significantly better as well. As a healthcare provider I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your care. To say this is appalling with our healthcare system is a vast understatement.

Horrible wait time in the emergency room, also the nurse Destiny who works in the neurology section of the hospital should really more professional with the patients and the visitors who she works with. She should also greet visitors in a more professional way and not ask “and who are you?” to the FIANCÉ of the patient. Very rude. A nurse should be very professional and help with whatever the patient needs and VISITORS, because the visitors are the support system for the patients. Do not recommend going to her if you need a nurse.

A girl checking me in taking my info let a door close on my foot as we were going through an automatic door. It jammed my foot and really hurt my freshly fractured femur. Unbelievably, she laughed, as I screamed in pain and began crying, it was completely humiliating. She then scolded me for yelling out in pain, in a hospital. After that I was met with incredible staff that was over the top accommodating and kind. I made proper complaints to higher ups, I really hope that young lady learns that she doesn’t work in a prison, but a hospital, where HOSPITALITY matters.

The second Boeing... It's been a long time since the MBAs took over, so it's only a matter of time before something happens.

This is probably one of the best hospitals in Illinois. I've had a lot of exposure to many different departments here and there are some commonalities among them.1. The medical staff really cares about you.2. The scheduling for any procedures is rough and takes forever to get an appointment.3. The facility is huge and there are plenty of food options on the 2nd floor.4. Parking is expensive for short term needs. Cheap for long term.5. The ER department is usually backed up, so expect a line.6. Quality of care is top notch. Yes there is room for improvement, but I've been to much worse elsewhere.Overall we have been happy with the care here... Although the excessive medical bills are no joke.Special shout-out to the kidney transplant team and their wonderful doctors.

After receiving a diagnosis of a concussion instead of taking care of my friend they sent her home and told her to take pain relief over the counter. No further instructions nothing. I’m so disappointed In the patient care and the price? Ridiculous
