Thanks for a great shoe-buying experience! I found two very comfortable pairs of dress boots. George even let me stick around for a while to watch the world cup with him. During that time, some regular customers came in and were raving about the quality of his shoes and the top-notch service. I completely agree!

The owner told me he was selling me genuine leather shoes but he lied to me. He tried to cover the inside of the shoe with marker that said “Artificial leather”. I don’t trust this guy or his business anymore.

I work on my feet 12+ hours a day and I need a shoe that is cute but also extremely comfortable and light. if you're in any sort of service industry I highly suggest this place it's family-owned, it's local, and they are extremely nice. I bought a Steve Madden boots that lasted me two weeks and I bought a pair of boots here that lasted me two years! And not super high prices.

Okay - as a guy I'm not really a big shoe person. Can't say the same for my wife... We were in the area and she wanted to stop in here. What a great, locally owned store. The owner has been in the same location for about 40 years. He has a pretty wide selection for men and women. You won't find Prada in here. But you will find popular brands at very fair prices. I found the most comfortable pair of sneakers I've ever tried when we were there last week. I've worn them every day since. Normally, if I need shoes (a few times a decade) I end up at Kohl's. The prices here are comparable but since it is locally owned, I would much rather give them my business. Ironically, I walked out buying something and my wife did not. But we are both sold on Athenian. Next time we are in the area, we'll be back.

So the sold me a pair of shoes claiming that they were super comfortable and good for eveyday..after wearing them for 2 days my feet hurt so bad i was limping and had to switch back to my old ones When i went back to exchange them i was told i could not do that nor could i return them... Clearly not there to help you find what your looking for and trying to push only shoes with the highest margin Becareful dealing with the owner chances are you will get ripped off or be unsatisfied

I really like this store. This store has a such of good selection of very comfortable and stylish shoes. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. This is the family-operating business, and I can always find a good advice in making the choice to buy shoes. I am recommending this store to all my friends

This store has an amazing selection of comfortable, attractive women's shoes and sandals. The prices are very reasonable, too, and the service top-notch. I was a regular customer when I lived in Chicago. Now whenever I come back to visit, I make a beeline for Athenian Imports. I only wish we had a store like this in New Orleans.

I hate buying shoes. Big time. The people that run the store were very cool and quite helpful. They have all kinds of styles, American and imports - and a strong selection of dress/work shoes. Evidentally the same family has been operating this store from the same location for 37 years now, now being run by a guy named Bill and his brother, and taken over from their father. Perhaps more of note are the prices. I went to DSW recently to buy a few pairs of dress shoes, found nothing that I could walk comfortably in - and everything was pretty pricey. If the average decent shoe I tried on at DSW was 90-135$ - it is of note that at Athenian the prices for the same styles and designers were averaging 49-89$. Hugeness. So, a chronically pissed off shoe customer like myself walked out 20 minutes after I walked in with sweet pairs of Giorgio Brutini and Stacy Adams for about 130$ total. Giggity. The place is a hidden treasure. Go with immediacy.
