I am utterly disgusted with the state of affairs at Astoria Tower Apartments. Our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare from day one.Initially charmed by their smiles, we soon realized their friendliness was a facade. Within the first week, we faced numerous issues, each requiring multiple repair requests. Though they addressed these problems efficiently, the frustration of moving into such a problematic apartment cannot be understated. The ongoing saga with the elevators is beyond frustrating. It seems like there's a maintenance sign hanging up every week, and the fact that these elevators are shared with the public garage only adds onto the issue. The constant breakdowns have created a logistical nightmare, resulting in unbearable traffic flow when even just one elevator is out of service. To make matters worse, the security of the building has been compromised for months due to the broken key fob entrance. This negligence poses a significant risk to residents, as anyone can enter the building freely and access our floors. The liability this presents is absolutely unacceptable and should have been addressed with the utmost urgency. On top of these ongoing issues, the chronic malfunctioning of the AC during the summer months is intolerable. And despite the building's supposed non-smoking policy, the persistent odor of marijuana lingers into our apartment and causes an unhealthy living environment, especially with someone who has asthma. Despite numerous complaints, management has turned a blind eye, offering nothing but empty promises and ineffectual emails.Management from Astoria Tower(Francy) and even upper management (Josh) has yet to respond. It's abundantly clear that management's sole priority is rent collection, with no regard for the well-being or satisfaction of their tenants. Living here has been nothing short of a nightmare. Astoria Tower Apartments is a prime example of a management team that is utterly negligent and incompetent. Avoid at all costs. For car owners:If you have a car, it will significantly worsen your living experience here. Exiting this public garage can be a nightmare on certain days due to the kiosk malfunctioning. Expect delays, as you may spend up to 15 minutes waiting in line, or even longer when there's an event at the stadium.

Nice location in the south loop. Apartments are a bit out of date for the price you pay. Enjoyed my time living here but ultimately left due to racist leasing practices. Raised my rent significantly after new management took over but spoke to other neighbors in the building whose rent hadnt been raised in years. Tried to talk to management about it but never got any responses but the apartment wasn’t even worth putting up a fight for. Better options in the south loop.

This is a shame to write, however I need to inform the public to tread lightly. There are better options around southloop.I used to work at Astoria as a leasing agent. Crescent Heights owned the building at the time and we were the BEST building in southloop… 3L bought the building and I left with Crescent Heights, however still had my lease under contract. This is 3Ls largest asset and they are not capable of taking care of this like other owners would. I have spoken to my previous tenants, turned neighbors, and all is sad in the building.Updates are late, elevators are not working, the garage broke Dec 31st 2022 and was not fully fixed until late May of 2023. In that time span, someone walked up the garage ramp and broke into my car… other garage issues include human feces that is next to my car park spot. I have raised this complaint to management and they refuse to clean it up (this has been sitting here since April). Laz parking is a 3rd party thus making the garage NOT private. So many times I see strangers ramming the gate so it’s now broken for resident use. So many times people refuse to pay and they hold up the line of innocent residents who need to leave. There was also an explosion of a car on the 9th floor they dumbed down as a simple fire. The key fob system is not working so it is hard to go up 20+ flights of stairs vs using the elevator you are technically paying for in your rent. The only good thing about the building is the maintenance team.I write this review saddened by how an amazing building can be reduced to trash just because a management team cannot tend to it properly. I recommend going to buildings nearby like 1401 S state st, Imprint, Burnham Pointe

I've been here over 5 years, I'm wondering if it will be my last. I still like living here but the quality has definitely gone down. The latest group of concierge are the worst they've had since I moved here back in 18'. Half the time I go to the lobby they're not even at the desk. They can disappear anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes at a time so picking up packages has become a pain. It's my understanding they're also supposed to be allowing deliveries to be dropped off outside our apartment doors (they stopped around when COVID started) but apparently they can't be bothered to do even that. Again, never had that issue with some of the older generation concierges. Who were much better than the current crop they have now.The fobs have barely worked for months and we've gotten no real updates as to when the problem will be resolved. I don't even bother going through the front door when entering the building because if the concierge isn't there, which like I said they don't seem to be half the time, you are going to really struggle just to get in the door. I've lost count how many people I've had to let in myself after 1 - 3 minutes of of them trying to open the door with their FOB because again, no concierge. I just always use the back entrance which for some reason works much easier but that shouldn't even be necessary. The amenities are still nice I'm assuming although the only one I really use is the complementary coffee. However, unlike under the previous management who always kept the coffee stocked, and even if it wasn't they would fill it the very next day. The current management seems to stock it when they feel like it or actually remember to do so. Which seems to be every few days. So actually just being able to get a cup of coffee feels like you're rolling the dice as to whether there will actually be any. And usually there isn't.I still think it's a decent place to live, but I'm paying far more in rent than when I first moved here and the fact that the quality has gone down since then really has me questioning if the cost of living here is even worth it. I'm going to wait a few more months to see if things improve but if not I'll probably be looking for a new place.

We loved our apartment home. Francy Stoppa has a kind heart, which made the capstone of our time here a wonderful experience. I hope management continues cherish the South Loop community, as we do, so as to keep brightening the lives of those who live, work, and play here.Thank you!

Best view of any apartment you’ll find in the south loop - BUT if you own a car please find another place to live.. so many issues with the garage! I was constantly late for work because there would be a car line up trying to get out of the garage especially since they decided to dedicate an entire floor to a business next door even though people living there have to pay 200$ a month to park there. Not only that but they failed to inform us of a garage fire and mass car smashing where multiple cars were broken into including mine. They promised to fix the main entrance door on multiple occasions and never did. The garage was unsafe. The apartment itself was beautiful but expensive for what it was. I think adding package lockers would really help them out. Front desk people were almost always nice. Location was really nice, a quick walk to grant park which for me was a huge plus.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. If the price seems good it’s because it’s too good to be true so know what you’re walking into. The building is extremely old and so are all the advertised amenities which are not worth using. Worst of all, it is so old that they are unable to fix an AC issue that has been going on for days. In the middle of a publicly announced heat wave, the air blows at 80 degrees. The maintenance staff are unresponsive and the leasing office when concerns were expressed, boldly claimed they have no connection to maintenance and cannot provide an update on when things will be resolved when this affects the WHOLE BUILDING. As they sit in their cool office and collect RENT from residents dying of heat. It is clear that there is no community leadership within leasing and they are just there to give tours and not solve issues. If you are looking for a place to stay where you won’t have to deal with REGULAR maintenance issues then this is not it.

Thank you, Astoria Tower and all its representatives, especially Ariana Nuñez. Moving into a new city can be numerous variables that one is unaware of. Mrs. Nuñez provided swift access to the available leasing apartments, accounted for all my questions and more, then ensured my smooth transition to Chicago’s South Loop. Thank God and Mrs. Nuñez for her diligence and charisma in moving to Astoria Tower. I’m very content with my decision.

We had to move from the east coast to Chicago on very short notice and worked with a few leasing agents from different apartments. However, Ariana stood out as the best. She provided us with virtual tours, blueprints, and answered all of our questions through texts and emails. Her assistance went above and beyond our expectations.Ariana was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. She was always available to answer our questions and provide us with the necessary information. Her virtual tours and blueprints were very detailed and gave us a clear idea of what to expect. We were able to make an informed decision thanks to her assistance.Overall, our experience with Astoria Towers and Ariana was excellent. We are extremely satisfied with our new apartment and the move-in process was seamless. We've been in our new apartment for just a few days, but we're already loving it. The rooms are spacious and the view is one of the best we've ever seen. Overall, we're really happy with our new place.

I love how flexible and helpful the people at Astoria Tower are. My partner and I were apartment hunting in south loop area. When we randomly walked into Astoria, Ariana had a short break between tours and took the time to give us a quick tour. We really appreciate Ariana deciding to help us, instead of rejecting since we didn't have reservations. After the quick tour, Ariana was consistently being helpful with follow-up emails containing layout examples to help us find the one. We scheduled the second tour right away and luckily we find the one we like! We have seen many other luxurious buildings with fancy amenities and modern designs, but we just can't tolerate a long space-wasting hall, tiny living room, or a big column in the room. The room layouts in Astoria Tower are reasonable to us and their amenities are totally enough for us. Also if you have a car or more than one car, it's barely possible to find other buildings in the downtown area providing two parking spaces.
