The event was well planned and in an amazing space! Our host was super friendly and helped anytime we needed it. The music was upbeat and the atmosphere was one of a kind!

I liked it better before the remodel. It was a lot funkier back then. Now it’s better for events though.

Was here for a wedding reception. Great venue! Good for art shows and receptions. Great floor space to allow for different configurations.

Went to a Makers Market here. It was OK. I think my downfall was that I had huge expectations and was hoping for more vendors.

Artifact effects is one of my favorite spaces in Chicago. It’s got style and atmosphere. I go for the monthly “Unsigned Open Mic” shows hosted by JJ Smith. So many good Chicago artists roll through there. Oh and my favorite bartender Claude mans the counter, and he’s just a joy to have around.

We had our wedding at Artifact Events over Labor Day Weekend 2023 and could not be happier with how everything turned out! The space is amazing and the team was so incredibly accommodating with our requests throughout the entire process. They also made it so easy for us to drop off everything when it worked for us, which really helped relieve some stress during a crazy week. We received so many compliments on the venue and the staff - and everyone loved the bartenders. The entire day was exactly what we had envisioned, and we’re so thankful!

This space is absolutely amazing. Also the staff was accommodating to us the whole time. My cousin's wedding and reception was there and we all were very happy with the event.

My husband and I hosted our wedding at Artifact Events this summer, and the venue is spectacularly beautiful. We worked with Jen Curry who was prompt with responses, thorough and patient. She is the main reason I can muster up a few stars for this place.Despite how amazing the space is with its industrial/architectural yet romantic design, I would not recommend Artifact Events to future couples....To start, the venue rental fee is on par with other Chicago venues, and this trickery is what bamboozled us in the first place. In addition to the rental fee, be prepared to pay nonsensical add on charges including (so, so many) up-charges, taxes, venue processing fees, handling fees, more taxes... all totaling thousands of dollars. You may be wondering what types of services are included from the venue if you agree to these kidney-donation-level prices... Drumroll..... NOTHING. Congratulations. Once you have signed your contract at Artifact Events, the only thing that you have is a building, friends. The folx who work for Artifact Events that are present on the day of the wedding do absolutely nothing. Your vendors are responsible for (no exaggeration) everythingggg..... you want help loading a few things into the venue? Setting up and taking down the ceremony chairs (that are actually OWNED by the venue)? Queuing the wedding party? Absolutely not.... You want to leave something at the venue overnight? None for you.....The bartenders (who are employed by Artifact Events) don't even wash glasses...... the caterer that you hire is actually responsible for providing glasses AND washing them despite the fact that the drinks are being poured by AE staff. The only time that I saw the Artifact Events staff on the day of my wedding was when they were walking across the dance floor with trash bags and linens at 10:00pm to miraculously help clean up the wedding despite the fact that the reception did not end until 11:30pm. And you pay thousands for all of this. Do yourself a favor and find a venue that is the same price but at least provides day-of coordination, glasses for their bar, helps with set-up/take down basics, will at least offer to let you store a few things overnight, if needed.
