“We were in the Venus Cabaret theater, which was a lovely tiny little venue. We got to be right up by the performer, but the whole space was small enough to feel intimate.”

“For my visit to Chicago I visited this gallery store. They have a wide variety of items and accessories that make the public want to buy more.

I would have liked to see even more things for men, most of them are focused on just gender. But if you come here again, you will find many things of decorations and accessories for you and the house.”

“I love this place! Every time I step foot in Sideshow Gallery, I get a wave a calm and good energy. I received a tarot reading today that was very informative and spot on! These folks are professionals in their craft. Don’t pass up the opportunity to come here!”

“I’ve only been here a few times, but I’m genuinely impressed. Not only are vibes consistently immaculate in this little sun drenched corner of the city, VSG embodies a refreshing avant-guard take on the modern art gallery. As a young artist and art enthusiast, I really appreciated the atmospheric emphasis on appreciating Chicago’s local talent, rather than just making a retail transaction. VSG is somewhere where people can go to experience art - not just obtain it.”

“Hope was fantastic to work with! I had no idea what I wanted in terms of frames for my pictures but she took the time to hear about the rooms they’d be in & recommend frame options. Great prices as well. We’ll be back again! Thank you, Hope!”

“Robert repaired our old stain glass window and our old stained glass curved lamp shade. He worked very closely with us to find the best possible replacement glass pieces. Both pieces came out super and they are proudly displayed in our home. We highly recommend Harmony Art Glass, you will not be disappointed.”

“When I returned to Chicago for the first time in a long time, I found that Lincoln Avenue was abandoned, but Rotofugi was still alive and well. This store has character products, making it feel like you're in Harajuku. There are also Hello Kitty and Japanese products, but now the store mainly sells goods made by an Italian called Tokidoki with Japanese influences. The clothes are cute too.A while ago, there was an event by an artist in New York, and I bought a painting.I hope that someday it will be as valuable as Basquiat.”

“Looking for a frame to compliment a print is a tedious chore as there are so many places in Chicago to choose from. I was able to find Prints Unlimited and Jill was able to narrow down my selection like a puzzle sorting out different color mattes and frames. Jill was able to quote me a price minus a check-in discount (under $600) which made this final product come to life. The final product was mention to take 3 weeks but after 2 weeks, I got the call to come pick the print up. I am glad Prints Unlimited made this process easy and the price was very affordable. Highly recommend Prints Unlimited to anyone who is trying to match a print to frame.”

“We had such a fantastic experience having our son’s 10th birthday party here. The staff is super helpful and set up tables and chairs for us. The kitchen was great to set up pizza and cake. Most importantly, the kids had an absolute blast playing all the video games! The parents also wanted to play the games at pickup. We’ll be back for sure!”

“Went there for a quick Christmas shopping since the Art Institute students were seeking their prints. I found something for everyone on my "Nice" list and I was amazed by the talent and really, really hard work that went into each piece. Love the size of the venue, small, yet large enough”

“This is my favorite gallery in Chicago. I’ve been going for over 10 years and have built up quite a collection. Sara, the owner, has helped me create the vibe and ambiance of my home and I love being there. The art is affordable so you CAN actually collect more than 1 or 2 pieces if there’s an artist you love, in particular. Will continue to come back here over and over. If you go once and it’s not your vibe, the art changes over time and the shows rotate, so follow them on IG and you’re sure to find something you’ll love or love to gift to someone special.

Included a pic of a few pieces with this review.”

“I enjoyed my visit to Urban Art Retreat. It was different than any other art gallery I have visited. It's an in-home gallery, so the setting is cozy. The proprietress, Dianna Long, led thought-provoking and interesting discussions about each piece. It was nice to have a guide through the pieces instead of just wandering and looking at them on my own. I enjoyed the conversations I had with the other patrons of the opening. Also, the owner's dogs were so cute and friendly!”
