“This is definitely the best retro spot in town, in my opinion. The owner is incredibly friendly and loves to share the background stories of the items in the shop. The prices are very reasonable, and the honesty about the quality of the pieces sets this place apart from online purchases or higher-end stores. I found a stunning pendant lamp here, and I always make sure to pay a visit whenever I'm nearby. Let's promote local shopping and show some love to independent stores!”

“It had been many years since my last visit. Spanning three floors, it seems Dalvage One has found a balance between being an architectural salvage location and an event space. Much of the first and second floors is dedicated to weddings and parties. Still a very fun placevto explore in.”

“I was searching for the perfect engagement ring and realized I had no idea what I was doing. Joe, his family and team at Rose Estate Jewelers made me feel like family when I walked into their showroom and they took the time to help me create the most beautiful piece of jewelry. Needless to say, my fiancé could not have been happier, and Joe made a customer for life.”

“My husband and I have purchased a rug crafted in Tabriz from a blend of wool and silk from Moe at Beautiful Rugs and we couldn't even dream of better guidance and the outcome! As soon as we put a rug on the floor, we couldn't imagine our apartment without it. It became a true gem and attention grabber for our guests (even our parents, who are a bit hard to impress :)Buying a Persian rug for the first time is a leap of faith in a way, but Moe offered an outstanding selection of magnificent handmade masterpieces and was incredibly helpful with every detail we asked about. Knowing that we can stay in touch with him and receive care instructions if anything happens to the rug is reassuring.I hope we'll be returning to Moe for more beautiful rugs when our household grows.”

“WOW am I ever glad I stopped in! Martin is an absolute delight and his shop is full of the most beautiful treasures! This is not your average junky 'antique' shop - he obviously has an eye for quality and unique pieces, and there were so many things that I would have LOVED to take home with me around every corner. Pricing generally seems pretty fair, especially for the quality of the items. I look forward to a return visit!”

“We used Zap props for our wedding reception. Our theme was “Time Travel” and we wanted the kitchen to look like a 1950s diner. Zap props helped us out. They were easy to work with and affordable. We had to pick up our own props but when we arrived they helped us load the larger items and unload them when we got back. Overall it was seem less. I would highly recommend the for any event prop rentals.”

“The Golden Triangle is a high point for fine furnishings, antique and modern, Asian and European, in the Chicago area. I have been a patron for several decades and have the greatest respect for their selection of furniture, rugs and decor items, with which I have liberally stocked my house. In an age where so much is made to be impermanent, the Golden Triangle offers a frequently-refreshed gallery of pieces to keep and treasure. Their talented sales staff and customer service matches the consistent quality of the offerings, every one of which tells a story.”

“This place blew my mind! It is a combination of museum and bookstore. A must for any history buff, antiquarian bibliophile, or collector of Lincoln, Civil War, or Americana memorabilia. The people who work there really know their stuff and are great to talk to. You will learn so much. There is no storefront, so you have to call when you get there. However, you will get a personal experience with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about this era in American history.”

“Super cute shop in Ravenswood/Lincoln Square. I’ve purchased a few items including a vintage refurbished desk and their super warm washable wool blankets.I’m giving it 4 stars because they’ve started selling more “new” furniture and less vintage or refurbished furniture - which isn’t my thing. The staff have always been super helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products, so if you have questions they will definitely have answers.Make sure to check out this local shop, I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy.”

“Thrilled with my vintage aluminum group chairs, Danish teak and rosewood coffee tables and Bitossi Lamp. I first met Jared from Circa Modern six or seven years ago when he had a very notable booth at 20th Century Cincinnati . I have several pieces from Circa Modern that are definitely in my forever home. This week he was gracious enough to meet me in Chicago despite not being open, and gave me a detailed tour of the shop and new warehouse loft space. I filled my truck with exceptional quality goodies. Also got tips on good burritos nearby. I've been collecting for twenty five years and this is as good as it gets for vintage!”

“NOT your usual antiques shop! The selection and finds one can buy are always truly astonishing: Just browsing is an exciting adventure, imagining the objects’ past lives, and being amazed at the inventions and whatnot of yesteryear. The owners are super helpful and always a delight to chat with. The place is so well-kept and clean, and has lots of welcome sunlight to make the mood so cheery here.”

“If you ever need a unique gift - this is the place to go! They have such an eclectic array of cards, frames, art, books and a whole host of other fun items. What I also like is the local flavor of items and their season gifts. There are Chicago themed items that look vintage or are fun for any room in the house. Finally - the service here is excellent. Even when the store is packed (which is almost every time I go in), there is always someone to help and make great recommendations.”

“We went to Archie's to see if they were interested in a variety of items we wanted to sell. The entire experience was excellent and conducted with clarity, great communication, and professionalism. Their offers were fair, and they explained why certain things were not valued as we may have expected. We felt very comfortable there and recommend it others looking for their services.”
