gonna echo other reviews about the rude older man. I asked him to point me to where screws and bolts were, he insisted i explain exactly what i was looking for and then he followed me there and watched my every move. Asked me 3x in 5 minutes if i needed help (i didn’t), and then walked over and tried to find what I was looking for anyway, even after I specifically said I did not need assistance.
I don’t think it was necessarily racially motivated but i’m a queer man of color and based on other reviews, he does not seem to like those. go to the true value on broadway.

I was at the store yesterday, June 4th, 2024, and within seven minutes of browsing the aisle I was asked by an employee if I needed help finding anything! That's right; I was in the store for seven minutes and got incredible customer service. The employee was mixing a can of paint, saw me browsing, and asked me if I needed his assistance! I didn't even see him at first! That surprised and impressed me.
Ok. We went to the pesticides section and I didn't see what I wanted. He said I could order it and took me to the man who could order it for me! At the front desk, I asked the other man questions about different pesticide formulas that were offered; I didn't know which one would be best for me. This man knew the differences and I ordered the formula that suited my needs. The pesticide will be available for pickup on Monday. WONDERFUL customer service!
Also, the store has been remodeled and it's very attractive. I remember how cluttered and disorganized the store used to look; not any more! It looks great.

Very friendly staff. And a surprisingly well stocked hardware store given its size. I’ve yet to need to go elsewhere for my home projects. It’s a joy to shop here.

this place is the bomb. you walk in the door and 90% of the time there is someone to greet you and help you find what you need. the other 10% when they are not there is because they ARE helping someone. prices are comparable to home depot and it’s a lot closer for me. it’s an ace hardware but locally owned. support them.

Ordered a grill Sunday night, Joe called Monday morning to schedule a Tuesday delivery. The assembled grill didn't fit through all doorways so Eddie and his partner were willing to take it apart and put it back together again. Assured it worked and were on there way in no time. Great service, friendly and fast. Thank you Joe, Eddie, and crew!!!

I went in to gather items during the week to take care of some home improvement over the weekend. One of the items I wanted to get was spackle. An older man, who greeted me at the door, helped me with the items from the beginning of my visit. He showed me the spackle shelf. He told me they were all the same but some were just lighter than others. Turns out they weren't spackle! I was duped and angry when I started to do some work at home! Now I have to waste my morning to get it replaced! Make sure you are getting what you're supposed to because people at the work are only there for the money and don't care if customers get the wrong items!

If you’ve got a project and have only vague ideas of what you’ll need to start, definitely speak to Russ at this location. He was able to help me narrow down what I needed, and also suggest vital pieces I hadn’t thought of like a vise. Thanks to him I got the pieces of my project done that I couldn’t have dreamed I’d be able to do myself back when I started.Prices for what I acquired were all very reasonable, location is easy to get to in the lakeview area, right by the red line, and all the equipment I purchased works great.
