“Best pet store in Chicago! I've been going there for 35 years. Healthier fish than any other store in this city! Tony is alright! Everyone has a bad day sometimes! And he has been working on his feet for 8 hours! Hey lady have some compassion for him, imagine if you worked on your feet for 8 hours and he came to your job and stopped you from going home at the assigned time? How would you treat him? Next time go earlier. I think Tony's last job was a bouncer in a lounge. Lol.just kidding. I love goldens pet store and everyone in it. Tony is a hard worker, he is very helpful to Mr Golden. And he is loyal to Mr Golden. That's what matters the most! If you want healthy fish; then go to Golden's. if you don't then go somewhere else!”
“I like to support small businesses, and this is one of them. They have all you need for whatever pet you have. They have 40lbs bags of dog food for $19.99. Very old school as they write out receipts. Staff is nice and will call you if a product you want came in. Love this place.”

“I just want to say the way some of these customers treat some of these wonderful and friendly employees is purely disgusting and disrespectful!!! I witnessed a customer talking aweful to a groomer and I had to put them in their place!!! I’ve been coming to this location for years!!!!! I hope Petsupply plus can agree some customers are not always right some are completely miserable and looking for an altercation especially at this location because that wasn’t the first time I witnessed this and props to the employees for keeping their cool and letting the customers talk down to them instead of lashing back. Whoever is in charge, protect your employees with all costs. My family been getting our dog groomed here for a very long time and all the groomers are amazing from the employees that been there long to the new ones I’ve never had a Problem!!! I highly recommend this store to anyone in the area. My German shepherd loves it here.”
“Was referred here by an associate to get help with tank repair and ended up not needing the repair I thought was necessary. So, I ended up taking a chance on buying a marine fish. Although, my wife was getting tired of losing fish we'd purchased from a store in Tinley Park and was losing interest from the hobby. I explained my dilemma to the store owner and he agreed to help me win my wife's trust back into the hobby. Let's say I haven't lost any live stock since working with him. Wife is back on board and excited to redecorate the aquarium. Thanks for the great store experience and future endeavors.”
“Xavier was the most helpful person I could ever ask for. In the recent winter freeze I realized my dog needed snow shoes, after going to MULTIPLE stores I called this location. Not only did he tell me that they had them in stock but also told me how to measure my dogs feet for the right sizing and explain everything to me so well. Genuinely so thankful for urban mutt and their employees!”

“I honestly don't understand the bad reviews based on my own personal experience. I have never dealt with the company directly. However, I have seen the results with the food. I have a Doberman who is used to eating home cooked food, but it was just too much work. She is fussy. I have tried all the premium brands and even imported food on Amazon that was not locally available. I literally bought this food out of interest and desperation. I was expecting to dump in the garbage. Was I surprised! She devoured it and has kept devouring it. The vet has commented on her excellent condition and many other dog owners as well. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. I understand that you are in a highly competitive industry worth billions of $$$. I trust my dog to choose what is best for her. You have a client for life unless to sell to one of the big conglomerates.”

“Always helpful staff. Wonderful assortment of products. I know they do their best to keep the website stock accurate, but it has happened a couple times that I order something for pickup in the store and received a call that they don't have it in stock. It has also happened that the website says it's not in stock, and then I find it on the shelf. Best return policy- if your pet doesn't like the food bring it back for a refund or to exchange with something else.”

“Our boys love it when we bring them here. The woman who works at the front is always SO sweet to our babies, giving them samples and plenty of pets. The treats are top-notch. We trust the selection that they stock, which is harder to do at big stores. Plus it's great that we get samples, so we don't end up buying a load of treats that they don't end up touching. We've gone in for baked treats, fish oil, poop bags, chews, training bites, etc. Next time we stock up on food (we buy Open Farm), we'll probably get it from here. Support local!”

“GREAT SERVICE! I walked in with my young son just to look and walked out with some fish for his tank. They answered ALL of his questions, and there were manyyyy. They were attentive and treated him with respect. I loved the way they treated him so much that we walked out with several fish, snails and food. We are both excited to go back!”
“I’ve been a loyal member here for years and I usually have amazing experiences, but my mom brought my dog in today for his 11th birthday and did not have the experience.My mom mentioned it was his birthday and bought him treats, but the girl helping her did not seem interested in the slightest and was anything but helpful. She also failed to give my dog his free treats for his birthday. Very disappointing.”
“Picked up contacts next door and popped in here afterwards, and what a lovely surprise! This is the cutest shop ever and smells incredible since they bake everything in store. Picked up tons of yummy goodies for my two dogs! In addition to treats, there are lots of great pet food options that range from raw to kibble. Also has a dog wash which was spacious and clean. The owner was so kind and I even got to meet his two sweet dogs. I can't wait to come back!”
“I love your tags! I get them for my own dogs, foster dogs and for friends dogs as well. My Sadie who is 11.5 has had the same Natural Pet Food Center tag since I got her at 6 months old and it still looks brand new. The tags are great quality and ship very fast.”
“Located as a stall inside the "Discount Mall", not where pictured. Mostly birds stuffed into cages too small for them, some without water. Quaker Parrots, Love Birds, Finch, Budgie and doves. Cages were pretty clean.”

They have everything I need all the time and the staff is so helpful it's disgusting, there are always helping and helping even carrying your purchases to your car without even asking! “THEY TOOK GREAT CARE OF MY BOY. I took my Golden puppy over to Armor park and he got himself all muddy. Now I never thought I'd pay for a dog bath because that's something I can do myself but when I dried him off he had a bunch of little knots and after a couple weeks my sister said they were getting bad and I needed to take him somewhere. I always get coffee next door so I gave this place a try. I thought they were gonna have to chop him up but when I got him back he looked real neat and smelled fresh. They even brushed his teeth and I think it's the first time his breath didn't knock me out at night. Anyway, the people in there are great, I'll get there names the next time cause I'll be back for sure”

“Even the waiting is all day on a Saturday for me coming from the far end of the North side in Chicago for my furry baby. I will wait until the end because his health is very important to me. I never meet the doctor of this place, but so far, it seems like he or she cares for the furry babies, not to mention some of the staff.”
