“The salesperson was professional and informed. She was extremely helpful in our selections. Best of all, the chocolates were delicious. Pixies are my favorite but the brownie truffles were scrumptious.”
“Had a hand made Chocolate covered Caramel Apple, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. I also purchased some peanut butter toffee chocolate in a jar, it’s delicious and the packaging is perfect for gifting. Thank you Annette!!!”
“Aunt Diana's Old Fashioned Fudge (Riverside)
Date of Visit: October 2, 2024
Today, I stopped by Aunt Diana's Old Fashioned Fudge on Riverside, and it was an absolute treat! This small, nostalgic shop is a hidden gem for anyone who loves classic, old-fashioned candies. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the irresistible aroma of sweets, and the charming décor immediately takes you back to simpler times.
The selection of candies is impressive, offering everything from rich, creamy fudge to freshly made caramel apples, which are a must-try. The caramel was perfectly smooth and buttery, coating crisp, juicy apples that were absolutely delicious. It’s clear that everything is made with care and attention to quality, bringing back that authentic, homemade taste.
What really made my visit special were the two lovely ladies behind the counter. They were not only knowledgeable about the products but also incredibly friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Their genuine warmth and enthusiasm for what they do added a personal touch to the experience that you don’t often find anymore.
Whether you're looking to satisfy a craving for sweets or just want to experience a slice of nostalgia, Aunt Diana's is the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be returning for more of their amazing treats and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!”
“Nice store, good service, organized, clean and convenient. Treats are good too. They have a good sugar free selection as well for those who must have sugar free. In the stockyards right off of Pershing. Great little break stop for those who work in the stock yard. I recommend checking it out if you're in the mood for some sweets.”

I've never been a huge fan of caramel corn, but for some reason I really like the way Argires makes it. If I'm ever going to or passing through Chicago I'm definitely going to come check this place out and stock up. Very tasty!”

6351 W 95th St, Oak Lawn“My first time going to this location, after it being stationed at this address for years was back on April 15, 2023. The person serving candy on this day was lady by the name of Max. She was nice, hospitable and just a consummate professional. Because the second time I came to this location (ALMOST A WEEK LATER) the same person Max was there to service candy to the customers on this day. I usually visit the location downtown (NORTH MICHIGAN AVENUE) because it is bigger store with more of a variety but if I am ever in need for chocolate in the future this will probably be my go to location seeing is most locations are starting to close, again makes me filled with SADNESS!!”
10:30AM - 6PM
2550 W 26th St, Chicago“This store takes me back to my childhood, the cups and bowls made from barro (clay) like my mom used in her kitchen long ago. A variety of piñatas and "Mexican" candy to fill them. Wooden utensils and large ollas (pots). I will mostlikely return again and again, the owner is helpful & friendly too.”
“My too go place for chocolates. I love to bag myself the flavors I like and in the amount I need.
The store is filled with candy boxes, candy bags all very beautiful and some with themes like birthday weddings, graduations new babies. That set this outlet apart. Those ladies behind the counter will steer you right if you are planning a big party or a celebration.
They have forgotten more about chocolate than I have ever known.”

6113 W 26th St, Cicero“These pinatas are absolutely beautiful and extremely durable so they don't break open after 4 kids have had their turn swinging. Customer service is outstanding, very warm and helpful. You have to check them out, you'll be happy you did.”
“Big daddy’s is by far the best fudge I’ve ever tasted. My favorite is the chocolate jack. Melt in your mouth creaminess, with the warmth of the whiskey. I give it as gifts and that’s the one everyone wants. Delivers every time!!!”
“By far my favorite candy shop in the area— anywhere really!. Always so nice & helpful. The chocolate is so delicious! Their choc covered strawberries & bananas (usually special order at the Indian Head Park store) are amazing! Can’t say enough nice things about Old Fashioned candies! Their Berwyn store has more offerings but if you want something they’ll bring it over, if you ask.”
“Everything you need for Mexican parties! Irons, plates, glasses, spices, candies, piñatas , etc. If you love to entertain and cook, they have your pots for tamales, discs for tripes, and plates for tacos.”

10700 S Cicero Ave, Oak Lawn“THIS LOCATION UNLIKE HOMEWOOD IL LOCATION HAD PLENTY OF CHOCOLATE. THEIR DISPLAYS WERE FILLED WITH CHOCOLATE AND PLENTY OF ASSORTMENT OF DISPLAYS THAT HAD A VARIETY TO CHOSE FROM ON THE SIDES OF THE DISPLAYS IN THE BACKSIDE. THE SERVICE WAS DECENT BUT SHE WAS SAD, SHE DIDNT HONOR MY COUPON BASED ON A MISTAKE FROM CHICAGO RIDGE LOCATION AND THEY DONT TAKE A $100 HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS ANY LONGER AT FANNIE MAE CANDY LOCATIONS.
Parking: PLENTY LOTS”

104 Calendar Ave, La Grange“I stopped here because of the sign in the window advertising English toffee. Upon entering I was a bit skeptical, it had an interesting smell and not much of a selection. I got 1/2 lb of toffee which was around $15. The employee was very nice which improved the experience and the toffee ended up being delicious!”
“Really good selection and great prices on the per lb bulk candy. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but the young man behind the counter made some suggestions that I really enjoyed. You don't see these types of stores too often anymore, so I was really happy to have found it. Most of the negative reviews are customer service based, which we did not experience, but hopefully is addressed because this is an awesome little shop.”
“Thank you to the young lady who provided great customer on Father's Day evening. She also went above and beyond by returning the cell phone I left on the counter today. God bless you!!!”

4635 W 63rd St, Chicago“Friendly staff that treats you like family! It is rare when I write a review about a place that I actually like! I love Villa's Nuts & Candy. My husband and I were so overwhelmed by all of their products and we kept asking for an additional ounce or half ounce of something, we kept adding to our order, and Maricela was more than nice. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries and tons of nuts!”

“Just a great little neighborhood gem. The chocolate dipped cherry bites are addictive. Chocolate caramels, dipped pretzels and cookies, so many chocolate choices and so little time! Also, lots of other sweets too. Limited hours so check their website first. Really delicious! Nice people too.”
“Trinidads-Pixies-Dark Chocolate Vanilla Buttercreams-Turtles-Mint Meltaways-Peppermint Bark- Toffees-Chocolate Cherries- Colonial Assortment .....and the list goes on and on; Chicagoland and the country has been blessed to have this particular brand over ? years ---- Holidays or any special occasion wouldn't be the same without Fannie May.”

7148 W 127th St, Palos Heights“I came in to get a gift for my mother in law. Carla was very sweet and helpful with her recommendations and I was able to find the perfect chocolate. Carla also offered to wrap it and put a birthday tag on the bag which gave it a special touch that you can't get at other stores. I will be coming back!”
“I visited this store for the first time today 06/17/23. What a cool and terrific idea to have a Spanish version type store that puts you in the mind of The Sweet Factory and FAO Sweets (TAKE OFF OF FAO SWARTZ) of yesteryear and a place which is huge in NYC and now in Chicago called ITS SUGAR. There is a huge variety of candy in the store with plenty of empty Piñatas to choose from. My only complaint is a better spokespersons for the store to bring the buyer/newbie in on these delectable delicious treats. I am not Hispanic or Spanish speaking SO with that being said I am NOT familiar with what these candies have to offer. I sure I am NOT the first to enter the store or look outside the window and go what kind of merchandise is being sold here?!! U want this store to be popular and have some longevity then U have to put yourselves out there a little bit. Granted the loyalty U get from your own can easily be a given but why not think outside the box just a little. Think in terms of the bigger picture because I have tried the Spicy Lollipop years ago back in the 90’s from a Co - worker, who was Mexican. It was actually pretty tasty and so was the popsicles. U might want to branch out this uniquely brand of retail shops SO the masses can probably enjoy. MARKETING MARKETING AND HOW U MARKET IS A BIG PLUS WITH SPECIALITY SHOP LIKE THESE. Someone has already mentioned Samples tasting in the store, promotional cards like Fannie Mae, the local newspapers, TV stations and radio, Social Media, Social Media and more Social Media, more importantly develop a relationship with Bureau of Tourism - TOURISTS FROM THESE SPANISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES OR OTHER COUNTRIES!!! YEAH A BETTER SPOKESMAN OR SPOKESWOMAN IN THE STORE WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.”
