Poorly managed, you can tell by the way the workers goof off all the time, won't even look a customer in the eye and smile. Just joke around amongst themselves. If you try to speak in a friendly way they will shoot you down. I see I'm not the only customer who notices this. So instead of doing my weekly shop here (only $200 or so), I go into Springfield. Only get milk and bread here anymore. One time I was trying to buy a fancy cheese, it didn't have a price on it. The cashier told me that people don't usually buy things like that here, "mostly just lunch and snacks." they're losing a BUNCH of money just by the lazy rude staff out front, I mean don't they have a break room they can send them to?

We were visiting Springfield and and always make a point to check out the local grocery stores. I think Country Market is my favorite of all the various chains here. It's got a great layout, the employees are pleasant and helpful, and their offerings are wonderful. If I lived here this would be my #1 go to.

This feels like a great opportunity to do some "yo mama" jokes to describe the situation at this store. Yo mama so pale, she looks like the grapes at County Market. Yo mama so miserable, she didn't have to fill out an application to work at County Market. Yo mama so fake and sad, she makes the real and artificial poinsettias look indistinguishable. Yo mama ain't got a boyfriend the way County Market ain't got any nuts (deez nuts)!!! Yo mama's skin is so dirty, it looks like the checkout conveyer belt at County Market. Yo mama so rude, she acknowledges you less than County Market employees. Okay, did we get enough of the yo mama jokes? I'm simultaneously laughing and sincerely concerned for this store. This store sits prominently on the corner of a main drag in Chatham, so you think it would be on point. It's so not on point. I often find myself wandering up and down the aisles because I can't find what I need. When I find the correct location, the selection is disappointing. When the selection isn't disappointing, it's kind of pricier than one would expect. Needless to say, I'm not impressed and I'm going to keep on going down the main drag to the other competitors.

This County Market in Chatham is close to my mom's house and we usually use it for small grocery runs. Honestly the only reason I stopped in today was because my mom was out of raisin bread and they sell the brand she likes here, so I drove up here to get that for her after doing a big shop at the Meijer store!!! They've added self check out lanes since the last time I was in here (or I just didn't notice them could be the case too!). Since I was only buying one thing I used it. There was two but one was broken. It was card transaction only, no cash so I had to use my debit card for $3.79. Seems like a silly thing to me to not have the machine working to receive and dispense cash. But hey, I'm not the one paying their credit card transaction bills!
