While moving, I broke a piece of wood in my wooden futon. I called a furniture shop that couldn't repair it and they recommended Smalley's to me. The shop is owned by an old guy and he appears to be the only employee. He sort of is on his own schedule but he fixed my futon on the same day I brought it in. The price ended up being $90 flat. He was straightforward with me on my options. I only wanted something functional so I was ok with him using a different colored wood to do the job. That being said, I am more than confident that if I wanted an exact match of wood that he would have been able to help me out and he would have priced it fairly. I went home, put the futon back together and it worked great. I only give him four stars because he is kind of hard to work around because he is so old school that he has a landline and was concerned with the fact that my cell had a different area code and he'd get long distance charges for calling me to let me know when it was done. All of that being said, if you're looking for quality wood work at reasonable prices and you'd like to support an honest-to-goodness local business then this is your place to go.
