“May” has a HORRIBLE and unpredictable DEMEANOR. Yes she can alter pants and yes she can modify a wedding dress, but get her on a day when she’s overwhelmed and then the TRUE unprovoked Hostile and unprofessional person will come out. (And this isn’t a post based on just one experience). Sadly, the champaign area is lacking in tailors who are really skilled at their craft, “professionally trained in customer care”, and seamstress’ who know how to successfully run a business. Unfortunately, most customers think that “May’s Alterations” is the best that there is…. That’s why people keep coming to her.

I just attempted to use this business. I was unaware I needed to make an appointment, so I went there directly. The owner was EXTREMELY rude, and she just said, "I can't take care of you right now, go and make an appointment." I was shocked and got out of there. Do I go there or suggest this place to anyone? The answer is A BIG NO!

I bought a jumpsuit online that was at least 8 inches too long. May's altered it within a couple of weeks for a good price, and they were very nice. I'll be back when I have something else that doesn't fit.

I went there for a simple thing; adding a snap button for a garment and May came through. It is a clean, spacious store with good parking I will return in the future if I need this kind of work.

so great! i got a pair of pants taken in and altered and a shirt altered as well as a jacket pocket sewn. everything was ready so quickly and fits perfectly. May is great at listening to what her customers want when she's fitting and is very kind! would definitely recommend!
