I have been searching and researching for the right chair for my work-from-home experience. went to many office furniture places in the City and wasn't completely satisfied with the service, selection, and prices. so I decided to look into the suburbs for help and found Chairtech in Carpentersville. I contacted Marty, who was extremely friendly and informative over the phone. I went the next day to the showroom and was completely blown away by the selection and the knowledge and experience these guys had. They literally rebuild all the chairs at sight. Marty had me try out many chairs as he suggested that till I sit in different chairs, it's hard to know which chair is the right fit for me. I was actually there to buy a more expensive chair but he suggested that some of the lesser-known chairs that were not in my research list might be a better fit. He was right. I left their showroom extremely happy and saved a lot of money compared to what other places had for sale. I was there for at least two hours and not once did they make me feel, that I am taking too much time for purchasing just one chair. I highly recommend Marty and Chairtech for all your office and chair needs. These guys are legit and truly care about putting you in the right chair and not just the most expensive one. I will be back and will tell all my coworkers.

Instead of going to a Big Box company for a new office chair, I decided to try and work with a local furniture supplier. Unfortunately Chairtech's untrustworthy pricing scheme makes this our first and last experience. I found out that after calling and setting up some time to see the chairs, the owner overcharged us $250 for a lower model of chair, when he was selling a better quality model for $200 online. On top of this, he asked if he could have our old Aeron chair because he was "giving such a good deal", even though our Aeron still has several hundred dollars of parts still available on it. I'm disappointed that he had to resort to ripping us off to see what he could get away with when we were interested in establishing a relationship and being return customers. I'm sure there are honest small business furniture salesmen nearby, but this is not one of them. I attempted to reach out to the owner to talk about what happened and he did not respond. Buyer beware.

I showed up during business hours without an appointment and was let and shown around by the owner (I believe). He knew everything about the chairs he had and was very helpful. He asked me my budget and showed me chairs that fit it.I did not buy anything and I later looked at ChairTech's website. Several chairs I was shown in store were listed for more than my budget. Also, all the chairs which I were told were $250 (the top of my budget) were listed on the website for between $170-$200. Make of it what you will.

10/10 experience. Very knowledgeable owner; very courteous service. My Herman Miller chair is in extremely sturdy, like new condition. It was a surprise to find such an extensive variety of high quality ergonomic chairs in the middle of the Upper Peninsula, and I feel like I got an incredible deal. Would highly recommend, thanks again!!

Excellent customer service, quality and reasonable prices. I purchased a new seat for my Aeron chair online and when I showed up with my old one the owner saw that I had purchased the wrong color. I thought my chair was black, but he pointed out that it was “lead” color instead. “Let me see if I have the right color in the back”, he said. And then everything was fixed and like new. Highly recommend.

Great place to pick up *very* gently used, high-quality office furniture! Everything appears to be in great shape - they seem to pick the best of the best used lots. Made an appointment and bought a nearly-new chair for a fraction of new. Great experience and would shop here again if any other office furniture needs arise.

Great selection and service. Chairs are refurbished and in great shape, a great way to save big $$$ but also try out many chairs and get exactly what you want (I ended up buying a different one than I initially planned after trying a few out). I’d highly recommend others to visit Marty for a great deal!

We came in to buy a chair from Chairtech today. Marty greeted us at the door. We followed him into the warehouse. I have never seen such a large selection of Chairs. They had everything. Marty told us not to be overwhelmed and he would go through all the chairs Features with us. He picked out a few chairs for us after listening to what my needs were.we decided to go with the Herman Miller Aeron. Marty was extremely patient and super friendly. He even offered to load it up in our car. There was not enough room in the back seat as the baby and the car seat were in the way. He offered to deliver it to us free of charge as he didn't want it to interfere with the baby in the back seat.This was the best purchase experience we have ever had. Smooth and easy. We will be back and will be sure to tell our friends about this wonderful business. FYI. They also have a bargain section for bargain hunters. Such good deals.But understandably they cannot be returned as they tell you that upfront.

Terrible experience with the owner, Marty. Owner was lying about my purchase date AFTER I provided a bank statement. Owner promised me that he would work with me as the chair I purchased was not working for me, ended up not working out and saying that I have to “trade it in for credit” and then pay the difference for the new chair I’d want. Keep in mind, the trade in was no where near what I paid when he promised me that it would be a close to straight trade. I would NOT recommend buying from him as he changes his words and says “you must’ve misheard me or you misunderstood me”.

TLDR; Awesome customer service. Had exactly what I wanted.Huge discounts over buying new. Call ahead to schedule an appointment.I called before I went to make sure they had the style of chair I was looking for (Herman Miller - Aeron) - they confirmed it and I drove out. The showroom is currently by appointment only but they are super flexible about timing so getting on their schedule same day wasn't a problem. When I arrived they were wrapping up the previous appointment so I was shown into the showroom and to their collection of Aeron chairs. I was also able to freely wander and see all of the other interesting items they had in stock. When it came to buying the Aeron, they walked me through how every option of the chair functioned, explained differences between models, and happy answered all of my questions. This was a super pleasant experience and I would highly recommend ChairTech to anyone looking for an excellent deal paired with excellent customer service.
