“The staff at Companion is friendly and caring from the front desk to the vet techs to the doctors. They do extra things to make you feel special, like having white boards welcoming our pets by name in the rooms to sending personalized follow up emails. They even have a candle at the front desk that they will “light” to request people be quiet and respectful as someone is saying goodbye to their beloved pet in the back. I love Companion Animal Hospital and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a team they can trust to take great care of their pets.”
“It’s not easy to find an exotic vet, let alone one that is close to where you live. Dr. Weber and the staff were so wonderful and compassionate. We brought our baby slider, Cinnamon, and they really took the time to make sure she was fully evaluated and cared for. Dr. Weber provided so many helpful resources and the staff were so welcoming and kind. Everyone made sure we had all the tools and resources to help get our little Cinnamon recover. We feel so relieved to know that we have found such a wonderful practice to entrust our reptile babies at!”

He was diagnosed with sarcoma, and there was not much we could do, but she was able to give our cat another half a year of an amazing life. There is no way to express our sadness because our cat is gone, but even in his last moments at the hospital when we arrived for euthanasia, everything was very respectful and peaceful.”

“Brought my big boy Chewbacca ( Chewy) here because he hadn't been eating and was clicking his teeth. Chewy gets super touchy if he is handled, however he loves Dr. Preiser. She handled Chewy gently, winning his trust and compliance, so we have a winner. Awesome bedside manner and reasonable with prices. A pleasure to work with, wouldn't hesitate to recommend her!”
“The staff are always very helpful and friendly. They are bright hard workers, but still take the time to know their patients and their handlers. Dr. Fritz is fantastic. He has an unmatched bedside manner with nervous upset patients (like when my giant dog tries to find a place to hide in the exam room). Once he comes into the room, my dog just stays by Dr. Fritz while he’s being examined. I have had dogs all of my life (almost 45 years). So, I have a basis for comparison. I feel confident in the things that are suggested, advised etc. and I know that Dr. Fritz will make himself available to go over all test results and concerns. I also appreciate the realistic approach. I had some serious personal health issues following a fall and unlike my usual self, I fell off track with my dog’s maintenance medication. Dr. Fritz advised it would make more sense to get him back on track with the medication for a set time before running tests to learn the current status of the issue for which he needs the medication. Why put the dog through more stress? I was also referred to another very reputable veterinarian when my dog needed a service that was outside of their regular scope. I respect the confidence and humility that requires. Seriously, everyone I’ve dealt with there is well above average and are worth traveling for if needed. Finally, I recommend Harper Animal Hospital to anyone for any reason. I’ve had people say things back like, “they are expensive.” The truth of it is simple albeit a bit cliche, you get what you pay for.”

“We are newer to the area and have two cats and no vet. I called them and they got us in right away (Other vets I had called in the area before them said I had to wait a week to see my cat Elery) she could bor wait a week to be seen as she had fecal matter completely stuck to her rump, which can be really unhealthy and cause infection, it was bad and she was super uncomfortable and it came on all the sudden. Dr. Lawrence and her staff were amazing with us in Elery. The clinic is clean and the staff and the doctor extremely professional and caring. I was completely stressed and they made me so comfortable and of course Elery too. When all was said and done even the fee was reasonable especially for the ask and the last minute getting us in and being so wonderful. We Thank and appreciate all of you there and thank you for the welcome Card we received in the mail after visiting. You are wonderful! If you looking for a great place to bring your pet I highly recommend!!!”

They did a wonderful job of assessing my dog’s vet records and getting her what she needed, as well as making her as comfortable as possible during the whole visit. “Excellent highly recommend! Very friendly staff, very knowledgeable veterinarian and vet assistants took great care of our Flemish Giant rabbit, Bunkins. Giant rabbits are not always easy to handle but they did such a great job that Bunkins actually seemed to be looking forward to his check up! They went above and beyond to help him heal from a leg injury and loss of appetite, even emailed a prescription on short notice so we could refill his medication at our local Walgreens. Very professional, there was no waiting time when we arrived, they already had his room ready! Thank you for taking such great care of Bunkins!! He is doing so much better!”
“We have been going to River Trails Animal Hospital and Dr. De Los Monteros for 15 years for our baby, Ricky. The staff and Dr. D have always been more than wonderful, loving and kind. Last night, we had to put our baby to sleep, and while it is a horrific decision, Dr. D and the staff made the experience gentle, loving and pain free for him. She is beyond caring and empathetic,always has been over the 15 years. I highly recommend River Trails to anyone that has a pet as they will always be loved and cared for!”
“We just moved here and one of our cats got sick. Northshore squeezed us in and we discovered she had terminal kidney disease. I refuse to see one of my babies suffering to prolong their life so after a day of saying goodbye we returned to have her put to sleep. Every single member of the staff was gentle and caring and made a terrible moment more bearable. I can't thank them enough for their skills and their compassion. They also didn't soak us when it came time to pay the bill and I'm grateful for that too.”

“I used to work as a receptionist for a dog daycare, so I've had to talk to different vets all the time all over Chicago. Now, no longer a receptionist and I have my own puppy; Preiser was one of my top 3 to go to. I HIGHLY recommend, they have a wonderful staff and receptionists. The nurses are so kind, and treated my puppy with so much love. Like, I'm pretty sure my dog loves the vet now. They helped refer me to a specialist and helped me make sure she got the best care. Pricing wasn't terrible at all. The doctor called me personally to discuss my dog which I thought was really thoughtful. Also the lobby is so cute, and welcoming. Sometimes lobbies at vets can be rough, like they can smell, be dirty, have strange colors, and have uncomfortable chairs... but not here. It's so cute and cozy, the sun shines in, there are magazines, comfy sheets, and so much space if you have an uneasy or aggressive pet that needs space from other pets. Also I have to point out that all the plants have their own names it's adorable”
“I am so sad they retired. By far and away the most educated and dedicated doctors, AND staff. NOT replaceable. Not even close. I am so sad they closed. As for the bad reviews? I love how the negative comments start with great doctors but too expensive. It's always about the money. If you can't pay The Four Seasons prices, go check in to a Motel 8. There are plenty of other vets, like hotels, who have cockroaches if that's what you prefer. You sound like a bunch of hillbillies. I am HEARTBROKEN they have closed. Especially because now I may run into the morons who posted negatively on here. No chance of morons in the NICC waiting area just dedicated pet owners who love their cats.”
