Went to deposit cash in ATM, ATM incorrectly counted it, and spit out less cash than put in. Went inside to inquire about it- after waiting over 25 min, since only one person could address this, I find out that this has already happened once today to someone else, and since "I am not the only Customer they have" they were too busy to put a cone in front of the ATM, and Ilya asked me "Do you see my name on the building outside?" - very condescending and rude, especially since this was 100% the banks fault for not taking proper action the first time it happened, and continued to allow their ATM to mishandle deposits. (Not sure why they wouldn't close it off as soon as they were aware of the malfunction).I was treated as an inconvenience to serve, as if I wanted to spend over 50 minutes there, to find out the cash I deposited wont be credited for 7-10 days, and Ilya called someone for help on filling out the report, finished with them and then said I was good to go. I asked for any confirmation information, since I have missing cash and no record of, and he was disgruntled and said "well it isn't done yet" - I let him know I wouldn't be leaving until there was cash in my hand, credit to my account, or some sort of confirmation that this case has been submitted. Turns out Ilya did not in fact know how to complete this request, and had to call the help desk to get it completed. I had already been there 45 min at this point, what was another 20. Had I left with no confirmation or case information, this would have never got completed, and i would have no trace of all the cash taken from the ATM without credit and I would have been out of luck. Since this is how our money is being handled and the complete absence of service, we have gone ahead and closed my wife's business account, and I will be closing both checking and savings, once this is resolved and I have my money back from this location. Its been about a week and nothing credited to my account yet. If I may recommend, maybe done have Ilya being the one handling customers and take proper action when handling peoples money. I can see why all the other reviews are as they are.

I am a regular customer of this branch, but the Notary lady is always in a very unwelcoming mood. It has been my experience that getting anything notarized from this lady is almost impossible. I never had good experience and she always come up with one or the other issue in document. I have to visit other bank to get the document notarized and they always do without any issues on that same document.May be this was my last try to go to her for any work.

Someone opened a checking account in my name, they did not require a photo ID. I have called several times and they keep telling me they closed the account and it is still open. Obviously they do not take identity theft seriously. So frustrated , I live on the west coast, and there are no branches out here so my only choice is to deal with them over the phone, but no one takes it seriously. Meanwhile whoever opened this account with my name still has an account in my name.

I am not sure why so many people complain about this bank. Every time I have gone I have experience great customer service! I have never had any of the experiences listed previously by other yelpers.

Horrible Service. My husband & I at drive thru together & denied ability to deposit our Covid relief check because neither of us have joint accounts. We have individual accounts there. We were both there & endorsed the check. No problem at Barrington branch

This is a perfect bank! The personal service you get here is outstanding. I have to send extra thank you to Kate, she is so knowledgeable and helpful.Highly recommend this location for anyone that appreciates a big bank with a strong attention to customers.

I deposited 3 checks through the drive in, and several days later when I went to reconcile my checkbook, I noticed on the deposit receipt that the amount printed on the receipt was short by $1000 from what I had written. I double checked my numbers, then went in to the bank to ask about it on a Saturday. There was 1 other customer in the bank, and it was a half hour before closing. I was told that the machine read one of my deposited checks as $600 instead of $1600, and that a banker, not the teller, had to fix it. The teller walked back to the area where the bankers sit. There were 2 bankers talking with a customer. When the teller asked them if the adjustment could be made, the one banker and the customer went and sat at a desk, and the remaining banker snapped at the teller, "I can't do that now! There's not enough time!" The teller took my phone number, and granted, there was a holiday coming up the following week, but nobody ever called me back. What kind of automated system do they have where they don't catch errors, balance their accounts, or have the decency to apologize for errors, let alone fix them?

Getting to be a long wait to do transactions, even with several employees around. Plus I am running into fees for things I wasn't changed for before. The help line is getting extremely long to wait for (I realize this is not just this one location) Sorry, but I am slowly losing my loyalty to BMO, and I have banked there since 1995.

Poor customer experience...I waited for more than 40 minutes to get a basic task done. Upon asking how much more time I will have to wait response was we can't tell..really? No estimated range like 10 minutes or 1 hour wait time? Wouldn't recommend it to others for sure..

If you plan on moving out of the Midwest. This bank doesn't do wire transfers over the phone...they'll hold your money and prevent you from making your down payment. Wish I could give 0 stars.

By far the worst banking experience I've had. I tried to call in and speak with a banker regarding an unknown charge so I just called their local #. More than 15 times they failed to transfer me and just hung up. After I called again the lady was very rude to me and immediately hung up every time I called. They are both incapable and incompetent at doing their jobs and shouldn't be trusted to handle your money.

The people here aren't very knowledgeable or friendly or helpful and don't ever offer any good advice. I came in here about a dispute about a charge and they kept telling me different things and I had to go in 3 times because they kept changing their mind. In the end, they just said too bad so they didn't do anything for me. On top of that they acted hostile when I came i the second and third time. They also completely refuse to count change.

Avoid this bank; you'll live longer. It's THE most aggravating bank, zero customer service, their online banking is the WORST, and the right hand clearly doesn't know what the left is doing. I was hoping they'd get their act together but I'm now realizing that's never going to happen.
