“Love this store, love the owner! I always come around this store but never went in. When I did went in, it was beautiful! Just beautiful. Came here for a hoco dress and it did not disappoint. The sweet owner helped me with the size and colors of the dress. There were plenty to choose from; short to long ones. There was wedding dresses too. There was also a section for boys too. They had baby clothes, men clothes, men shoes and women shoes! Heels are very good prices. Bought a blue dress for 95 bucks and it was wonderful. The owners is really nice, recommend! Thank you! I'm a little sensitive about my curves but Takara made me feel wonderful and personally selected two flattering tops- bold colors, exquisite craftsmanship- and a cool versatile green knit cardigan that doubles as an asymmetrical poncho. There is a great selection of necklaces, scarves and knit winter wraps & hats. The tops were a bit out of my budget but I could see saving up and returning for one soon. Easy free street parking along a really cool stretch of Madison Street. Great location.”

While attempting to find places in Chicago that sold garments in this style, Solei popped up on my Yelp search.Solei is a Chicago based store that partners with indigenous cooperatives in Mexico ensuring your purchase goes back to the community. They have a big selection of Mexican style embroidered dresses, tunics, tops and accessories in a multitude of colors and styles. A big plus is that they also sell Otomi style clothes and purses. I was really impressed with their selection which led me to visit them in person. Unfortunately they didn't have what I wanted in store so I ended up purchasing my things online. In house, their stock is limited but at least you can try on stuff for look and fit.A majority of their goods are pulled from their warehouse. What you can't find in store, you can oftentimes get online at: soleistore.comIf shopping in store, they have a section devoted to ball gowns and tiaras. It seems like a popular place for purchasing quinceanera gear if you're in the market for it. Come out and visit Solei. They have a beautifully curated selection of fine Mexican embroidery well worth the trip to Little Village.”

“Store 0428 in Elmhurst has friendly and helpful staff. The store carried big and tall men's clothing which I was unable to find at other big box stores, they only went up to 2x and didn't have tall clothing. I also like the one level building that made it easy to navigate for a Handycap person. The cashier Sarah was very diligent and noticed I didn't get all the discounts I was due and called a manager to adjust my bill, it was very appreciated being a senior on a fixed budget.”
