“For those of you that complain about their policy regarding them not immediately being able to price an item. This is typical. This is a thrift store. Service isn't going to be amazing. Their policy is the same everywhere "if there is no tag then it needs to be properly priced and you can return the next day in the morning to ask for the item and get it then. I did this before and they were accommodating at another location. Although it is inconvenient to have to come back simply for this reason. It's understandable since they need to determine the price a certain way to get some kind of profit and so forth. I don't believe every employee is trained to be able to determine the price of all or any items. These locations are always short staffed so keep that in mind as well. If you want something better in that sense go to a Bloomingdales or a Nordstrom. Not that you can afford it in this economy ?as they say be grateful for what you have”
“Fantastic vintage shop. Lots of great pieces. Filled with collectible glassware and decor. As a collector and reseller, it’s not priced in a way that works for me but it’s still got a great selection for those who aren’t looking for a crazy steal.”

“Charming little vintage store across from the Jumping Bean. Friendly staff there to help with whatever you’re looking for, the sweet person at the register was quite patient while I carefully looked through their shelved rings.
Only knocking a star because of pricing, there was a small mix up with items from a set price bin and there are other reviews stating the same. No biggie though, everything else was great!??”
“Happened upon while driving on Roosevelt.....Love the interesting finds and the fact they support a Cat Rescue!! They also have some Incense and Sage sticks along with some cool vintage threads! One of my finds were these 3 tiny Deer figurines! Purrrfect for my Fairy terrarium!!!”
“Temple Head Start was the start of both of my children’s education. Both have graduated a long time ago.My son is now 26, graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA 3.6, and now is a Engineering Manager at Wahl’s Clipper Corporation.My son was born prematurely 3 months early. The staff was wonderful with him and he never missed a beat. The doctors said he would never thrive with his class but with the help of Temple Head Start we made sure he thrived with his class!My Daughter is now 20, a student at Howard University majoring in Media Broadcasting Journalism with a GPA 4.0. My daughter was 2 months prematurely. Like my son they said she would not thrive with her class. Again with the help of Temple Head Start we made sure she thrives with her class.I want to give thanks to the entire staff from 1998 - 2008. I truly appreciate you all.If you are looking for a head start for your child where the staff loves and cares for your child as if they are their own. Then stop looking because you have found your head start program Salvation Army Temple Head Start!!!”
“I’ve shopped at Divine Consign a few times and have had such a great experience each time. Thom (i think that’s how you spell it) is the nicest salesman ever. He is so patient and kind and he made shopping for furniture truly so easy. He’s super experienced and has great taste! Furniture is also so high quality, our house looks beautiful!!! “Joe, the owner of LC&S is a very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to work with. Have made several small but important coin purchases there over the past 6 or 7 years. Recently Joe helped me with the sale of some Sterling Silver Flatware. He explained the process involved in determining the flatware's value and suggested that I visit several shops to get quotes and then to take the best one. When all was said and done Joe was able to make a more than fair offer and I sold to him. I always have trusted him and feel comfortable with his knowledge and expertise. I feel working with him is always a win - win situation.”

“I have always loved this place & have been going there for many years! I will always be a loyal shopper! The deals are amazing and it's for a proven good cause. You can go in at 50% deal days, and save ton! It's a bit pricier than some of the junkier thrift store but it's much better quality items/high end. Ironically, some of the negative posts below reminded me that I haven't been there in a while and I should get their ASAP. It did the exact opposite of what these people were trying to achieve lol! Right before they close, they do warn people. These people are not paid, they volunteer their time! They work from the goodness of their hearts. Everyone there is friendly to me. That lady that might have been disrespectful in that other person's comment could have been someone that was abused herself perhaps, just guessing. I've always seen friendliness there but in the past people have been disrespectful and lingering around there after hours, so keep in mind these are unpaid volunteers. Also some of the people that were upset about the High-priced items.. well just go on the 50% off days. Or don't go at all and leave all the good stuff for us, lol. I bought this awesome Guess dress, Paris perfume, and bracelet pictured below, very affordably. Brand new Victoria Secrets panties with the jewels on the sides & bras for practical nothing ($4 brand new w/tags) You can't get that at other thrift stores. I know my purchases are going to abused women and children for resources such as shelter and counseling . I'm very proud to support this in the community and I'll keep promoting it. There were a lot of people in there today. I will also continue to donate my clothes too. I love to shop there, and highly recommend!”

“A hidden gem in Chicago. As expected with most thrift stores the racks are full of merchandise, people are busy searching for the best deals and you have to be diligent to find the half-price tags. It takes effort but it’s time well spent for budget friendly quality purchases. I have frequented this location on many occasions. On my most recent visit, a piece of jewelry that I purchased was not included in my bag. The cashier ran to meet me on the sidewalk to ensure I received my item. While I did not notice her name I appreciate her kindness and will return in the near future.”
“I enjoy this GW! Everyone is always friendly in my experience! Cathy is my fav! My only negative is why they started to put the stickers on the bottom of items often covering up the brand name. Especially for vintage/antiques. That’s how you end up with half peeled off prices…we need to see the brand name.
Prices could be a little cheaper, but better than others I’ve frequented!”
