It was late and all other rentals businesses were closed but here was Noble with a smile on his face. I asked if he could help as my rental was cancelled due to my arrival time. In no time I was set up and off I went. Simplifying my travel! Simply awesome!!

National is always the quickest way to get a rental at any airport where I travel. Employees are always polite and helpfule and the whole process is smooth. I have used all other rental agency's and National is who I choose to go with every week.

Worst customer service in the world.The black lady was rude and wouldn't get off her phone. They don't clean any of the vehicles.

I had an awesome trip to Chicago and the staff on duty the night I turned my rental car in (3/12/23) was AWESOME I didn't get the guys name who checked my car in but Jake checked me out at the register and he was AWESOME and you don't meet many awesome people only us awesome people understand that LOL Also Jake your hair cut was FIRE!!! By the way just to be exact because I read Bloomington on the front I rented my car from enterprise at the Midway, IL car rental hub but Jake gave me a card with National on it I hope this review finds you Thanks again for being awesome

TL:DR National Rental Car's customer service as a whole is terrible, mostly due to the fact that they have no system in place to contact employees at their locations. This issue makes it difficult for even the most simple of issues to be resolved.The hours of the Bloomington location leave much to be desired, as you may already see based on these reviews. Working around these limitations, I got a ride to the airport on Saturday to pick a car up. My initial plan was to return the car on Friday during business hours, then get a shuttle ride to the airport ride Saturday morning, but the person at the counter informed me of their "Night Drop" system and I decided to give it a shot. I dropped the car off at 7a.m., filled out the paperwork, dropped the keys, and boarded my flight. Later that day, I found the app showed my car had not been returned. I called the customer service line to get a National call center, where I was told they would leave a note for the front desk informing them that I had already returned the car. Next day, I call again and they tell me they will do the same thing, although it still has not been resolved in my app. Dissatisfied still, I decided to give them one more shot and call a different number, the one they list on Google for the location this time. Again, I get a call center. This time instead of having them look it up by reservation number and name, I give them the VIN number to the vehicle. The person confirmed that not only has my rental not been listed as "returned", THEY ALREADY RENTED IT OUT TO SOMEBODY ELSE! They again told me they would leave a note on my account and get this resolved. I pressed the issue and asked if I could speak with someone at the Bloomington location, and after some back and forth it became clear to me there was no way in hell I was going to get transferred to a person at the rental desk, who could easily resolve this issue. Not only can I not talk to someone at the counter, nobody at the call center had the ability to correct the obvious issue either, so again there is a note on my account to fix it. . . .This isn't my first problem with National, I had a similar issue at Chicago-Midway airport where I was promised by the call center that they had my flight information and I had no reason to worry about them not staying late to make sure I could get a car that night, even though my flight was coming in after closing. Again, with this issue I was unable, after many negotiation, to speak with someone at the physical location.Problem is, I like National when things go right. The Emerald pickup is great, but the customer service is total trash. Issues could be easily resolved by staffing the counters with enough people to answer phones at the physical locations. The inability to reach the "boots on the ground" makes it impossible to solve the simplest of issue. A note to people reading this review that is worth noting: The parent company that owns National also owns Alamo and Enterprise, I would highly recommend avoiding all three of these companies.

Worst rental place! I ordered a car online and when I got there they, claimed they didn't have any any available. Avoid at all cost.

Left me hanging all week long with no rental car availability after confirming my reservation in advance. Enterprise partner is just as bad. Recommend not trusting your rental car needs in Central Illinois with National or Enterprise.

The young man at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. He was all about providing quality service. The only issue is the desk closes at 5pm so I had to actually fly in a day early and rebook a flight to be able to pick up my car from your Bloomington location. That was very inconvenient.

The staff was very friendly. My only complaint was that the car had a very heavy cigarette smell and it was stuck on my clothes and luggage. The staff did ask if they could do anything about it, but it was at the end of my rental period when I brought up the issue. It would be nice if it was inspected prior to renting out.

We rented a car on the Thursday before the 4th of July. I wish I could remember the gentleman who handled our reservations name. Very professional, helpful, and polite. Moved us through the process very quickly. I felt bad for him because someone had overbooked rentals (I heard a customer in front of us inquire why they could not get their car even though they made a reservation). He was left there to deal with a huge line of customers that I assume had reservations but wouldn’t be getting a car. We got the last car available on that day. I admired his demeanor and attitude in the face of what was surely going to be some very upset customers. I would have given 5 stars but National Corporate policy on overbooking regardless of what their employees have to endure doesn’t deserve it.

Fast, friendly service. Vehicle was excellent! New and spotless, great to drive. Dropped it off for a very early flight home. Used the very convenient drop-box and was on my way.

Nikita is freaking AWESOME. She went an extra mile to help us out and make sure we were comfortable with our car. She was so personable and sweet too! Definitely recommend using her and her branch for your next rental car needs. They truly want to help you out and make sure that you are happy with your vehicle.
