Green Top is affordable, local, fresh, organic, donates to local charities, *and* you don't have to be a member to shop there. There's nothing not to love. They always have fresh produce, meat, bread, and cheese from local farmers and bakeries. Their deli counter is always well-stocked with grab-and-go items if you're looking for a quick meal, and there's space in the store to eat if you have the time. They have a taco bar on Tuesdays and a vegetarian and non-vegetarian soup of the day. Some of their more affordable items include bulk goods (flour, oats, nuts, coffee beans, etc.) and canned goods. For example, a loaf of fresh bread from Central Illinois Bakehouse is around $4.50, comparable for what you'd pay for a loaf of ultra-processed sourdough from Jewel or Kroger. There's a good selection of wellness items, and always fun seasonal items. I do Christmas shopping there every year and stock up on fancy chocolates, Funks Grove items, and other edible gifts. You also don't have to do all your shopping at Green Top to support them and save money. For myself, I do about 25% of my shopping at Green Top and feel that it's good value for the money. I highly, highly recommend them!

super overpriced produce but I respect the idea and atmosphere of the store. If aldi was opened I would've gone there but Green Top Grocery took care of me. Staff was friendly as well. Thank you for supporting local farmers

Green Top is a great place to find locally grown produce and niche eco friendly items! There are certain items I can find here that aren’t available at other stores. They are also super friendly at the cash register and always seem to start small talk around the items I’m getting, even recommended other goods based off it! It’s the only place I get high quality shiitake mushrooms at lol

Great grocery store for local food and non-main stream offerings. Give it a try.

The produce is often left to mold and expire on the shelf. Employees are not knowledgeable about their own products and programs such as link match and which items are actually local. They often don't even have the needed coupons to keep the program going.Lastly, one of the employees is very nosey and needs to not try and shame a customer over clothing, and should definitely not interfere with parents trying to parent their children. I could have let my kids poke holes in your produce, but instead I tried to remind them of consequences for behaviors. Trying to offer my kids a reward while I was trying to handle the situation was extremely uncalled for. I really hope this store gets it act together.

Not really a Restaurant but you can't beat the food for the price. I highly recommend either stopping in for lunch or picking up something for lunch or dinner.Their soups are especially fine, at an unconscionably low price. Not the place to go if you want traditional fried, fatty or salty fast food.

Moving into the neighborhood and so excited to be close to this coop. The classic coop smell of spices and good food meets you the minute you walk in. Very well supplied, with a nice touch of gourmet pick me ups available for an easy bite to eat. Will be joining soon! Two Heads Consulting says YES!
