As a customer of 7 years and someone who worked there for a few months, i will never be supporting this company again. The amount of plants and practical items they blindly throw in the trash is honestly shocking and sickening.
For a local nursery of 30+ years to have no form of composting, and just blindly throws out living plants in the garbage, it is something I cannot support.
I personally witnessed it and started saving these plants out of the garbage before they were killed, yet I got spoken to and told I can't because "I might step on a nail, or encourage customers to also do it" me asking questions regarding this was not allowed and seen as "arguing"
I SAVED hundreds of pounds of sod, and at least 100 plants, 95% of them all survived and are thriving. I am never going to support this company again and I hope they change their policy.
Now from time to time before they threw out plants and killed them they gave us employees the opportunity to grab them. Unfortunately whatever wasn't grabbed was still thrown out with no care in the world. No donating to a senior center, no donating to the local school, no discounting 90% for customers, just thrown in the garbage.
Look at there dumpster container, they taped a paper sign onto it saying not to get any items from it. They posted that just because of me. I am the only one in the history of the organization who took the initiative to not blindly follow orders and actually respect nature and the plants we have enough to save them.
**My Response to Platt Hill's Comment on My Review**
You are unfortunately lying. I will now attach photos of all the plants I saved that had no diseases or issues. I will not be counting the ones employees were able to grab before being tossed out and killed unnecessarily. I am going to show the plants that were already in the garbage

I am new to plants and plant collecting - and I feel so lucky to live so close to Platt Hill Nursery. Every time I visit there is something new to see and that keeps me coming back way too much! They have many of the trendy plants (Pothos, Philodendron, Scindapsus, etc.). Just so fun to visit and the plants are beautiful. I will be going back tomorrow again and I was there today! Highly recommend.

The most beautiful assortment of anything and everything however my review is on customer service. I walked in passed 5 garden attendants not one acknowledged my existence with a hello can I help you ? I was there to purchase stones by the pound and nobody was around . I couldn't believe such a prestigious place ignores customers so I walked again and 5 more workers just watering and ignoring so I left . Do better Platt Hill ! You charge an arm and a firstborn for everything at least treat potential customers with stellar service .

The best selection of spring plants anywhere. We have been going there for almost 3 decades.
However the check out process is a debacle. Given that you have been in business for a long time, I would assume that they understand the checkout process. Why would you conduct refunds, price adjustments in the checkout line? That's absurd. We waited as 12-15 customers moved in other lines. We switched lines and waited even more. OMG! My time is worth more than selection.

The best place to buy beautiful plants in the area. Huge variety of not only plants but also fertilizers, plant pots and decor. The staff is great and will answer your questions and help with the choices. My husband gave 4 stars by accident, but he loves this place too ☺️
