This firm and its employees are unethical and rude to say the least. My husband has them doing our book keeping for our business and business taxes. We have a business in town and if we performed work in a rude unethical way like they do... we would have no customers. They have also have done our personal taxes and our sons personal taxes. They screwed up my sons taxes by putting an address down on his taxes that we hadn't lived at for 6 years we had to ammend the taxes which to this day he still has not received his return, On top of that , they charged $400 to do his taxes. Then when I asked for a copy of mine and my husbands joint personal tax return needed for College applications FASFA, Carrie the book keeper refused to give me a copy of MY tax return stating i was not a client. My name is on the taxes that were filed. I am by law supposed to get a copy! How can she refuse to give them to me. She originally told me yes to come an get a copy , then called me back not even 5 minutes later to tell me they were in storage and it would take weeks to get.????????? Allen the owner is a joke too. I cannot tell you how many messages I left for him and he does not return calls. If you have a business or just need yur taxes completed, i would NEVER recommend this accounting firm or individually Allen and or Carrie. They are shady crooks and are unethical. They are supposed to handle your taxes??? I now file separately because of them. I would not recommend this firm at all!

horribly ran and managed. Getting a call back is pretty much impossible. Still waiting on tax return from 2020 and they can provide me no information when they filed them. doesn't even come up in IRS system that they were filed. Angry isn't even the word- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM!

Last year GLA was sold to new owners.They called me up immediately to setup a meeting to introduce themselves. What a pleasure it is to actually get accounting and business advice. The old owners pretty much just plugged numbers in and didn't give much advice.

Used to use Jason Heider (wherever you are now) for years and he was fantastic. I thought I had finally found an excellent CPA. And then I go in 2018 to find the place under new management. They say they need a month to get the taxes done, immediate price hike, horrible customer service, unbelievable wait times for 60 mins or more with appointment and to top it off, I can't even get a paper copy of my taxes. Apparently they only email you the tax return. Sorry, What??? Never going back there!!! No, thank you.

Super disappointed that Jason is no longer there. Not the same without him. The prices for a tax return are now double, they are extremely disorganized and very hard to get a hold of.

This was a great company before it was sold. The new owners are running this business into the ground. It took months for them to complete are taxes and after calling three times and never getting a person or called back I had to finally show up for my return. I waited for an hour in the waiting room while they completed my taxes. Horrible experience, rude staff. I don't recommend.

Avoid at all cost. Sold to new owners who are absolutely horrible. They never notified us the firm was under new management. The taxes took more than 3 weeks to complete and the only reason we received an update is because I happen to catch someone on a Saturday, which they're closed on by the way. Their hours during the busy season are 9-5pm. We found multiple errors the main one being the gross income being extremely understated. We called many times during the day to get a hold of someone to correct the error and explain the issues to us. Never heard back from anyone.

Since I found out that Jason is no longer at GLA, I decided to remain a Client.... where do I begin, horrible customer service, can never get a hold of anybody and when you do, nobody knows anything! I have been calling for weeks to found out if my taxes were completed. Different stories each time... The kicker, My tax information was hand delivered personally to the Bloomingdale office, after calling 6 times in 3 days I found out my tax information was sent to another office, almost 4 weeks later I'm in the same boat.... NO TAXES, very frustrating

I Want Jason to come back... I have tried emails and facebook to get a status on my tax return which was promised a week or two ago already.. I may have to do a midnight phone call tonight.... It is getting ridiculous at how hard it is to get communication and a single update from them..

We used GLA for years and Jason was the absolute best ever. Since he left this year, the service was horrible. Would never recommend and will no longer use.

Great Lakes Accounting is under new management and they are horrible to deal with. No letter explaining what happened, they don't keep their word and you can never get a hold of a partner!!!!!! After 10 years I am picking up my taxes and going somewhere else!!!!

Been going here for a few years to see Jason, went back this year and wasn't even told he wasn't there anymore. Prices went up along with it. If I knew that I would've done them online and saved $100. Not only that but they don't even give you a paper copy of your return you have to wait for it to be emailed. Sorry but if I'm paying $150 for my taxes why wouldn't I get both? Won't go back next year.

Stay away from this place. I got my taxes done a year ago and the girl at the front desk charged the fees on my brand new credit card I handed to her. A few days went by and got a call from Macys.com verifying an order before they shipped it. I never ordered from Macy's and would never charge $800 to that card. A few days after that another order from Nordstrom Rack for $700 was placed. This place was the only place I used that credit card so it was pretty simple to figure out where the charges came from. I can't believe an accounting firm would steal my credit card information. Shame.
