I will never bank at the Liberty Bank in Bethalto again. I was accused of attempting to deposit a fraudulent check from a reputable company. Calling the branch manager was frustrating, to say the very least. I’ve banked with Liberty Bank for over 20 years. I understand this is a time when companies try to scam people & send fake checks, but this was not my case. The teller at the Bethalto branch was rude and sarcastic and treated me like I was a criminal. No more.I’ll be keeping my business at the Godfrey location. At least that branch knows good customer service. I will gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to bank at the Liberty Bank in Godfrey. Just be aware. Not all branches of the same bank are managed well. I know Liberty Bank is a great bank as a whole. And the Godfrey branch?? They CARE about keeping their customers and they treat everyone with respect. Stay away from Liberty Bank in Bethalto.

Every time I step in this locations lobby, I am greeted by a hello and a smile. They are always willing to go the extra step and help me with my online banking when I'm having issues. It's a 10/10 for me!

Do not use this bank. My mother's account became overdrawn, which we fully admit was our own fault. She called to speak with a representative about paying back what was overdrawn when her SSI came in on the 1st, and was told this would be fine. However, they continued to charge daily fees on the account until a -$50 overdraft became over -$100, locked my mother's account then disabled her debit card.After calling once again to speak to a "Melinda" about this, as we were worried that the locked status of the account would cause her SSI deposit to be rejected (we tried to deposit money to the account via CashApp as a last resort once we saw the new balance and it would not take), my mother's concerns were handled unprofessionally and she was talked down to and patronized to no end.We were also told by Melinda that my mother's debit card would be reactivated within 24hrs of the account being brought positive. This was a lie, my mother's card was still unusable over 3 days later and completely unable to even do a balance inquiry at the ATM.Staff is always unhelpful, behave as if you're bothering them just for coming in or through drive-thru, and their account policies are incredibly predatory. My mother closed her account and is moving her funds elsewhere.We will never do business with Liberty Bank or "Melinda" ever again.

Such a bunch of snots. So corporate sounding instead of kindness and smiles. It's bad enough the last manager robbed the place but not the sell out means when you call to hotline a stolen card the outsourced customer service can't even find liberty in the system. Alton and Godfrey and great but bethalto and corporate are awful. Maybe they should take the young people and give them a little customer service training.
