I can't say enough about my experience here. Had an e-brake go out while on a cross country trip. Took me in rt away. Expertly diagnosed the issue(s) and undoubtedly saved me from a terrible accident down the road. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was looked after while waiting for parts to arrive. Helmkamp is full of unbelievably kind, knowledgeable, fair and decent people. There's a difference between customer service and care. The entire team here cares. I'd come here for anything and everything if I didn't live on the other side of the country. Amazing amazing business who deserves to be uplifted and supported. I'm a fan and customer for life.

Excellent customer service from a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I think the pricing is fair considering RV's aren't a cheap hobby and I couldn't possibly fix anything myself.

Todd did a wonderful job setting up the daily schedule to complete the installment of 4 brand new tires.While I was ordering my new tires, Monica sat with me one-on-one asking which tire I wanted, based on price and quality of each brand.The company was very straight forward with me as to when the tires would be ordered and when the tires would arrive. Immediately after the tires arrived, Monica set up a time/day for me to come in.The waiting room was very quiet and relaxing. The bathroom is very clean.If you need any type of vehicle service, this company knows their stuff.The company stands by their word and what is right.This company has been in the local area for over 45 years. Even though the original owner started out in a concrete brick building, the integrity, service, and knowledge is impeccable.This is a true American company! This is a family owned company that has survived many economic hardships, but they keep going to serve their community.Shop local! Support the community. Put your money where your mouth is!

Took my camper to these guys to look at my a/c, and unfortunately, it needed a new one. They called me and gave me options, and I told them to replace it. It took them a few days between getting the part and installing it. Price was actually lower than I expected, so I will definitely recommend these guys.

We were traveling through while on vacation and our air suspension went out in our motorhome. They took us in right away even working late trying to get us back on the road. It turned out that we needed to order some new air bags. They did an excellent job fixing our motorhome at a very fare price. Very nice family run business!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I called Monica at Helmkamp around 3:30 P.M. and dropped our car off soon after because our air conditioner showed signs of failure. Monica called after noon the next day telling me the job was finished. The AC worked beautifully!Our family has had a long history with HAS. Gene Helmkamp was a wonderful man - honest, he did excellent work, he was always accommodating to complete work in a timely manner, he was always available to diagnose and explain what needed to be repaired. My parents and I always trusted Gene's advice.We've had new cars - service for the first two years is typically included and we had extended warranties. Now we can continue doing business with Helmkamp Auto. They do excellent work, they stand by their repairs, they are focused on getting good results, their prices seem very fair.Yes, we'll be back. Yes, we certainly will recommend HAS to friends and family. This is a very reputable family-owned business. Their best advertisement is "word-of-mouth."Service: Air conditioning

Can't say enough good about Helmkamp's. Had a tire with a nail in it while RV'ing. Called Helmkamp's and made an appointment for the next morning. Even though they were booked solid they looked at my tire. Fortunately it was a small nail and in the Deep tread so Theresa's no damage to the tire. They also addressed a wheel cover lug nut problem I had and told me where I might get a replacement.Although the problem turned out to be more of an inconvenience for me they took the time to address rhe problem, and on top of that they didn't charge me anything.Their time and expertise are definitely worth something but they refused to bill me.If your ever in the Alton, I'll area with an RV problem this my be a good place to call.

Charged us $235 for a part they lost. Not happy. Took two days to get work done, too. Not happy. Be careful when you use this place. They don't play fair. Will never go back or recommend to anyone.
