First time in, but easily one of the best selection of retro games and accessories I’ve seen. Staff is very nice. Love this place

Could not bother to verify if a game was working properly. Do not recommend.

Went to Play it Retro today since I’ve been looking all over for Pokémon 151 packs. I bought a good amount of packs and the staff was really nice, even got a $10 discount. The luck was crazy, I don’t know if it was me or Play it Retro but the pulls were insane!

They have all gb gbc and gba pokemon games and I even picked up a rom hack cart, pokemon ash's quest and and the employees were very helpful. They buy, sell, trade and the prices are nice. One thing about the gba games is that they have mostly common games but they still have some pokemon games. They have all PlayStation consoles and from what I saw, most nintendo consoles too. Manny helped me through the entire process of buying and looking around.

You can tell that these guys are serious about gaming. The inventory here is absolutely nuts ?
THEY DON’T MISS! The displays were spotless & alpha-numericly organized & the costumer service was on point ✅

The staff is great and they have a crazy large collection of stuff, but woah is stuff there overpriced. I’m talking some items being over two times market value. Like Advance Wars 2 on GBA is nowhere near a $40. I expected mark up since this is a business, but not THAT much. At least the Funko and trading cards are decently priced.

Unfortunately no longer will be purchasing from this store. This was our family’s go to store for Pokemon cards. Recently my brother in law and I purchased 2 ETBs. When we went to opening his box, it was very clear that the booster packs were resealed. We both have opened hundreds if not thousands of booster packs.
I’m thinking that maybe wherever they purchased their Pokemon scammed them and now we were the ones to get scammed. It 100% did not come from a distributor since the cards are no longer getting printed.
It looks like many sellers on eBay and Amazon are selling these resealed packs. I was able to find some sellers on eBay where their booster pack did not have the obvious resealed marks and faded ink. I will post a picture for reference.

Sad to see a business not take claims of resealed Pokémon products seriously. Buyer beware.

I have seen a shelve of Nintendo Switch videos games, accessories, special edition for video games & consoles. I think it’s worth it if you’re a collector of video games of the Nintendo Switch era.

It was alright but the front desk guy had made some gross comments about a lady that was shopping for her kid when she was out of hearing range. Honestly didn't like it too much, if you're a lady, don't shop alone there.
This happened a while back but haven't gone back since. I do pretty hefty buys for a massive retro collection so take it with a grain of salt I felt a little uneasy for the lady and stuck around for a bit til she left.
Maybe he was drunk or something but started sharing deep info about court cases he had going on for his kids or something. It didn't add up.
I know the guy wasn't the owner for sure I've met that guy once or twice before, he's pretty cool.

Do not be sold by some of the 5 star reviews on here!
This shop buys from any and all sources, eBay, collect-a-con, Amazon, etc… they don’t validate any of their buys, so you could potentially get a fake item. That’s what happen to me.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!
I went here based off of a friend’s recommendation, super excited to see what cards I could add to my collection. I went inside around 7pm, about an hour before they close. The employees seemed nice and were willing to help me out any way they could.
That’s about all the positive things I can say about them…
I went and bought a Hidden Fates ETB that looked sealed even though the packaging was slightly loose, which was around $160. My friend got a Chilling Reigns ETB as well. While I was in there I did notice they sell their cards at a premium, meaning above market price. (So fair warning if you do decide to come here after reading this)
When I got home, I opened the ETB packaging and took out the card packages with my friend. I noticed the card packages had been resealed based off of prior videos I’ve seen about how to verify older Pokemon sets with my friend. This was a huge bummer as I was really looking forward to having at least a chance at getting a chase card.
This wouldn’t warrant a review from my end as long as the employees and the owner were understandable, as this does happen and is unfortunate!
However, I contacted the employees and they tried telling me that Sun and Moon era uses “different machines” and they (the card shop) “validate their purchases at the highest level”!? Then they told me to contact the owner on Facebook, so I did. The owner not only treated me with confrontation and backed his buy without understanding but also didn’t give me a refund/store credit for this mishap. As the buyer I shouldn’t be responsible for this for any reason and this falls on their “validation at the highest level”. (Which I’m assuming is the owner, for a small card shop lol) Not to mention the owner tried to back himself up based on someone else’s eBay post, which proves nothing.
Needless to say, I’m never coming back here again. I would give 0 stars if I could.
