This was, without a doubt, the most infuriating customer service experience I have ever had. I placed an online order for several gallons of paint to be picked up the next day at this store. When I got there, they didn't have it. Honestly, not that big of a deal except that when I showed the order confirmation, the manager on duty acknowledged that the order was for their store, but said that it didn't matter- they didn't have a record of the order and so couldn't fill it as they couldn't "just give me 8 gallons of paint." She then went into the back to call another manager, and I overheard her tell him that I was "giving [her] a hard time." By asking them to fill the $800 order that I had paid for, I guess. I stood there while she was phone with the other manager in which they both insisted several times that the only solution was for me to cancel my order (which is not an option) and that there is an option in my email to do so (there isn't).
I'm sure the order being lost was a system issue, and that would have been inconvenient but fine. Painting me as unreasonable for wanting the paint I paid for was unreal. Fortunately, I went to the JC Licht in Forest Park and they had neither a system issue nor a customer service issue and were able to see my order just fine- and filled it in 10 minutes. Imagine that.
There are way too many better alternatives for me to ever spend another dime in this store.

I always go to home Depot but they didn't carry what I needed
But JC licht has all I needed, staff very helpful, and friendly

Very country feel. Online items available after calling to check they were assembled yet. Very nice atmosphere and great value for price paid. Ego weed eater is absolutely awesome!

Ace franchises, because of their limited number of employees, are the sort of places you visit if you know exactly what you want, and don't want or need to deal with huge chains like Menard's, Lowe's, and Home Depot.To this end, Licht Ace, one of my 2 locals, has really helpful and friendly employees who will even gladly work with you (within their knowledge) if you don't know exactly what you want.I've also enjoyed casual chats with employees here, during off-hours, including today's interaction with Katie(sp?) (photo), and Brandon and Diego (photo).Keep it up and keep it local, guys.

I can’t say enough of about my great experience at the JC Licht in Berwyn. I had a large and complicated order that required a lot of attention to detail. The staff were incredibly helpful —specifically Jacob — putting everything together and taking the time to review the details with me. If I ever need a gallon of paint again, I won’t go any place else!
