I can't recommend this company less. PODS gave me a quote that had a very competitive price, which ultimately led to me choosing the company. However, they cancelled the delivery of my fully loaded POD two days before, said they wouldn't do street placement, held my POD at a facility 20 miles away from my residence, and said they would charge me $700 + tax to deliver it two weeks after the date I had scheduled for. It ended up costing me nearly a thousand dollars to get my stuff from the PODS facility and into my apartment. They also recommended a moving company where the movers obtained my cell phone number and texted me completely unprofessional things.

We recently moved from Detroit, Michigan to Chicago, Illinois and used a 16' POD container for most of our belongings. Unfortunately, no one at PODS warned us that the City of Chicago doesn't allow moving containers to be placed on city streets, only in driveways or yards. Our new home, like the majority in Chicago, doesn't have a driveway and the front yard is too small. We weren't told until we called to confirm the delivery date/time to move the container from the nearby POD storage facility to our new home that we would be required to pay an additional $595 for "City Move" services. The fee covers a 4 hour window for the POD to be unloaded in a residential area. Furthermore, we originally arranged for labor to unload the POD in front of our new home and when we changed the date to avoid another month's POD rental cost, the price of the labor increased by $250. We visited our Alderman's office and got permission for the POD to sit in the street for 4 hours but PODS wouldn't waive the City Move fee. So... at the last minute, while under extreme stress, we hired a different moving company to unload the container at the POD warehouse, load it into their truck, drive it to our new home & unload. What a complete waste of time and money!! It would have been cheaper for us to hire a professional moving company to load our belongings in Detroit and deliver them directly to our new home in Chicago. The PODS concept is a great idea, but the implementation was a nightmare.

I ordered a POD a few days ago for delivery today. They sent me a message that that it would arrive between 2:46-5:46. Later I received a message delivery was updated to be between 11:45 and 2:45. A while later they sent another message that the delivery time was updated to be between 1:15 and 4:15. At 3:45 I had a voice message that due to technical difficulties the delivery would put off until tomorrow. We needed it today and had friends over to help load it. I called to talk to someone and he said they were sorry but he would help schedule delivery tomorrow. Not acceptable I would like to speak to a manager. He said one was out there. I told him I needed it delivered today. These are not cheap and you pay a lot for delivery charges. He said hold on as he would call someone. He left me on hold, finally got back to me. He said today was out but he assured me first thing tomorrow. They changed y delivery three times the. Cancelled it. So I am supposed to believe first thing. I cancelled the POD and no one there seemed to care. I would not recommend them to anyone.

This ordeal started with my container arriving a day late. On make-up delivery date, instructions stating I live in a gated community and driver needed to call so I can let them on the property (which I can see written on the receipt so I know for a fact they knew about it) container was instead dropped off MILES down the road in the parking lot of an Office Depot. Both drivers on drop off and pickup were supposed to get the container weighed (an additional paid service) and supposedly they did, but nobody can provide me with the weight tickets. Every time I’ve tried to get support during this whole process (besides booking the container) and needed immediate assistance, instead of coordinating directly with the local PODS facility on delivery day when they didn’t show up…and the next day when my container was delivered to the wrong address, I was stuck talking to some call center agent who just sends the local facility an email and tells me a “they’ll have an answer in 3-5 business days, and after that if you don’t hear anything, call back” generic statement.Today is Oct29, my initial delivery was scheduled for Aug30 and for TWO MONTHS I’ve been fed those generic “we’ll have an answer in 3-5 business days, and if no answer by then call back” and STILL waiting on the missing paperwork from my container drop off/pickup to close out my order.The phones are lightning fast to contact the sales department to take your money but if you need anything else clear your schedule….might take awhile.

PODS is great for somebody who really wants to pack their stuff their way and at their own pace. You can also move packed boxes and items out of the way into the PODS container instead of leaving them around in your home to take up space until pickup.The container fills up pretty quickly, so I would be very mindful about how much stuff you have because we had to fill an 8-foot container after already filling a 16-ft container. At that point, full-service movers who can load and unload everything would probably be wiser for your physical health.Customer service from PODS is excellent! You won't need to worry about reaching people to ask questions or update anything with your order!

Absolutely horrible communication and customer service. We requested a delivery for this last Saturday (requested 4 days before on Wednesday). We were told on Friday that we'd be given a delivery window for Saturday by 6pm. Comes and goes, they tell us we'll get one by 8pm. Comes and goes. Call the next morning (day of scheduled delivery), they say the POD will be delivered by 6pm. Comes and goes. Will definitely be there by 7pm. Not there. Told finally that it won't show up on Saturday, and they don't know what happened. Reschedule for Tuesday. They'll definitely give us a window by Monday night. Call Monday morning, they tell us that the delivery for Saturday was actually denied by the storage facility and was never going to happen. We'll get the window by the end of Monday guaranteed. Call towards end of day, no, we will not be provided a window and they'll tell us 30 minutes before the truck arrives on Tuesday. Will our container of belongings actually show up tomorrow? Who knows. I don't have a lot of faith that they'll honor their word (as SEVERAL people have told us whatever will get us off the phone instead of actually trying to resolve the issue.)We were moving states and didn't have an apartment already rented before our move, so figured that PODs would save us the headache of moving all of our stuff between storage facilities and moving trucks, but they just create more problems than they're actually solving. If you're working a full time job, there's no way to manage the amount of calls needed to get any sort of updated information from them.

9/2023 5* PODS in general has been a good experience. But the drivers I have had from this particular location, Nick and Nathan (Nate), were FANTASTIC!!!! Nick dropped it within 2" of exactly where I wanted it. Great job Nick! Very pleased. And Nathan took care of everything expertly when picking it up. A very pleasant experience so far. Everything looks safe and secure at this point. So I am extremely pleased with them. Thanks for the great service guys!!

Miguel at the POD service center was so helpful. I showed up late and he helped me access my POD. He could not have been nicer! Huge shout out to Miguel, great to come across such a happy and kind person!

This service looked great to use for our moving services needed but unfortunately they don't deliver to the destination address. They can pickup at your address but then we'd have to rent another truck to pick it up at there distribution center which is another 2 hours away out of state. Wishing you could add Teton or Jackson Hole WY to your services.

Excellent customer service willing to answer all my questions on chat, online, and phone. Everyone from customer service, delivery personnel and onsite PODS service were very professional. I'm very impressed with PODS.

I used Pods to put my basement in storage while it was being renovated following a flood. I live in a large city. The pick up was fine but took a bit longer than estimated. As the renovation was wrapping up I called Pods to schedule the return of my storage pod approximately THREE WEEKS in advance. However, Pods informed me they are "very busy" and there was no availability until a much later date that did not work (family vacation), and if that one date did not work there was nothing else available in September or October. Or, they gave me the option to hire a truck, drive to the Pods storage location and unload the storage pod myself on-site. INSANE. So these people will not return my stuff on any reasonable timetable and will charge for storage in the meantime? This is not how the business was advertised or explained to me. Avoid this business at all costs.UPDATE: Pods replied to my post right away (below), but I responded to them immediately and have yet to hear anything back. Do not take the corporate reply below to mean that they care about customer service or took care of my problem. They absolutely did not. I will update my review when and if Pods addresses my problems.

Driver backed up POD into our garage and damaged our gutters. Company has been unresponsive for over two weeks. We have called multiple times and nobody has followed back up with us. Can we get in touch with a manager to resolve this before I dispute the credit card charge?

I gave it a one because zero is not an option. My POD delivery was delayed and when calling the sales person, who said she would stand by me throughout the process (because I saw the Avon dance of previous poor reviews of PODS Customer Service), she never responded to one of my four calls. Customer Service is in the Philippines. The people were polite when reading the script as I received the same messaging multiple times, specifically apologizing for my experience but unable to assist in any way. After a three week delay on getting my POD with numerous cancelation from PODS, i drive over to their storage location and walked into the office. I inquired why my POD was delayed. The person I confronted looked and said I don't know why this hasn't been delivered and within one hour had it at my home. It took me traveling 20 miles and going into their facility to get my POD delivered

Absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. The dispatch team was great, but the company itself? A nightmare. I was hung up on, hold times are atrocious. Website had technical issues the day my Pod was supposed to arrive and never came. $400 to store my things for a week. Which is the same cost as a 30 day store. I was put through a significant amount of stress and they made my move unbearable. I will never, ever use this company again or recommend them to my worst enemy.
