I am a professional braider to start off. I DO NOT regret to express my disappointment with the service my mother received at your establishment today 2/17/2024. The outcome of her hair braiding appointment did not meet our expectations. Despite requesting feed-in braids, the final result deviated significantly from the reference photo provided. The braids appeared uneven, inconsistent in size, and did not reflect the desired outcome. Furthermore, the rushed nature of the service was evident, and the final cost of $160 felt disproportionate to the quality delivered. Honesty and transparency regarding the stylist's ability to work with clients experiencing hair loss would have been appreciated. Constructive feedback is offered with the hope of improving service standards for future clients. I am appaled and beyond disgusted at the service my mother received. Had I been there with her, she would have NEVER LEFT THE SALON WITHOUT RECEIVING COMPENSATION FOR THE HORRIBLE SERVICE!

THIS WAS THE WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!! I HAD 4 BRAIDS TO FALL OUT IN JUST 3 DAYS SO I WENT BACK TO GET THEM REPLACED THEN IN ANOTHER 2 OR 3 DAYS I HAD MORE BRAIDS SLIDING OUT AND HAIR THAT WASN'T IN A BRAID AT ALL.... WENT BACK AGAIN AND I NOTICED SHE DIDN'T PUT THE HAIR IN A KNOT THAT'S WHY THEY WERE FALLING OUT AND SHE PUT JAM ON MY HAIR WHICH MADE MY HAIR SLIPPERY... I WENT BACK A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES.... I PAID $250 I EXPECT MY HAIR TO BE CLOSE TO PERFECT AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY TYPE OF SERVICE AT ALL!!!!!Service: Braids

Unprofessional and waste of my time. Don’t call me to reschedule and then we do and when I get there it’s someone already in the chair AND you take your sweet time opening the door if you see I’m standing outside for FOREVER

May 2019.....My sister drove up from Arkansas to visit family and so we could get our hair braided together. This would be only my SECOND time getting my hair professionally braided in 52 years. I was excited. We had a relative who went to the shop and had a good experience so we decided to try Mimi. My sister called earlier in the week to make our appointment and asked if there would be 2 persons each braiding our hair. She was told yes but that was NOT true. We arrived at the shop at 6:50 for a 7a.m. appointment. A lady started doing my shoulder length hair at 7:15. Mimi was late and started on my sister's hair about 7:40. Both ladies seemed to be nice. Mimi suggested that since I had natural hair, I should get my SHOULDER LENGTH NATURAL hair done with the smaller braids for $20 more that would be braided half way. Since she was the expert, I trusted in her suggestion. But the next day I noticed that some of my hair was sticking out on some braids in the section of the unbraided hair. This was because none of the braiding was done at least halfway down!!!! While there, we witnessed that there was a lot of over booking clients. One young lady sat an hour before getting into my chair. Another lady waited 4 hours before getting into my sisters chair. Both had 2:30 appointments.The next day I called Mimi and calmly attempted to explain to her my concern that wasn't noticeable yesterday because of all the spray and mousse used. She immediately got defensive and put the blame on my hair being natural. I told her that I was not going to argue with her, I was not happy, she was being very rude so there was no reason to continue the conversation. I hung up. She called back 5 minutes later with a calmer attitude. At the least I was expecting an apology but she continued with the same narrative and not LISTENING to what I was saying. In total, my sister and I spent $440 and 11 1/2 hours that wasn't planned in Mimi's shop because we expected 2 people to be braiding each of our heads. She wasn't truthful and seems to care more about over booking customers to put money in her pocket and NOT customer service!!!THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME PATRONIZING MIMI'S on W. Main in Belleville, Illinois!!!!!

I ended up walking out. I was not greeted when I came in. She was in the phone and said a word to me for almost 30 minutes. Just disrespectful.

Very rude, unprofessional, and was pulling my hair as she combed It. Mimi yell at me because she didn’t not do my hair like the picture I showed her . She accuse me of trying to get a free hair do. It took another customer in the shop to tell Mimi that looks nothing like the picture. She has a 100000 excuses on why it didn’t come out right. I took out my hair and haven’t been back since.
