I've used this company for 20(?) yrs to maintain a 100+ yr-old French wall clock that occasionally gets cantankerous. Stephanie or her crew have put it to rights each time and for a reasonable price.

L&S clock repair did a great job of cleaning and maintaining our grandfather clock - they even fixed a small cosmetic issue for us free of charge. They clearly know a ton about clockwork and gave us great advice on how to keep our clock running perfectly for many years to come.

I inherited a 130 year old antique clock that has been in my family for years. There were so many red flags with L&S that I ended up not leaving my clock with them. I found online that they have a location near where I live in Urbana Champaign and are there twice a month. Under FAQ on their website, it says if you send an email to them, they will "send you a coupon for a 10% discount off your next service or purchase." When I mentioned this to Stephanie on the phone, she sounded upset, said she didn't realize that was on the website, and did not agree to honor it. I emailed her with pictures of my clock. Later that night I received a call (which I didn't answer) at 9:30pm--which is way too late for a company to call. I called back the next day, stated I spoke with her yesterday about the antique clock I inherited and emailed her pictures, and she did not remember me and stated I must have spoken with her son. I said no, I spoke with you. She then said she was unable to open the photos, which were sent in JPEG and she should have been able to open. I told her over the phone, as well as by email, that I would be at the shop on August 14th when the Urbana office was scheduled to be open. When I put L&S Clock Repair into Google and Google Maps, it showed an address of 406 N Main Street in St. Joseph, just outside of Urbana. We arrived at the address, and the man there said L&S has not been there for 15 years but people come by because L&S has not fixed their Google address. We then went to the correct location, which is a strip mall in Urbana. However, there is no sign on the door and the windows are covered in paper. We had to ask other businesses along the strip in order to find the shop. The shop was filled with a bunch of computer parts, so it appears L&S must share the space with another business. The man who came to the door stated that Stephanie had cancelled due to a family emergency, but I was never called or emailed to be made aware of this. No one was there with any knowledge of clocks. None of the three employees were wearing face masks despite the IL mandate. I was wearing gloves to protect the 130 year old painted clock. The man took the clock with his bare hands, put a sticky note directly on it, and sat it on the edge of the table next to the door where it could easily be knocked off. No receipt or proof that we ever dropped it off. My husband and I left the shop feeling very nervous and uncomfortable with using L&S. We ended up turning around and retrieving our clock. We will be taking our clock somewhere else for repair.

Great customer service! It's a very nice shop. Full of clocks. I found out that some of them are for sale as well. Very knowledgeable staff and what I like the most about them is that it's a small business not a huge company. So you get friendly treatment with house calls and everything. Definitely my go to place for clocks and clock repair!!!

I highly recommend this shop for clock repair! While a competitor told me it would be hundreds of dollars to completely disassemble and reassemble my 35+ year old Winchester chime clock, L & S was willing to try a few minor servicing/repairs first which they thought could take care of my problem. And it did -- within minutes! My clock works like a charm. L & S has earned my confidence as a reputable, honest business.
