I went to this dealership hoping to purchase a vehicle. I Was offered a bad deal. I told her I needed to go home and think about it. The finance manager processed the application. And the $7000.00 deposit on 9/30/23. After she assured me she would wait to hear back from me. I called on 10/2/23 told her the loan was bad I was gonna decline. No response. . I've called her for 3 weeks to return my money because I did not pick up the car. She WILL NOT CALL ME BACK. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. ITS A SCAM. THE FINANCE COMPANY CALLED ME TELLING ME THAT THE PAYMENT WAS DUE 11-15 for a car that I do not have. The satélite radio company called asking me about the radio subscription. All of this for a car that I don't have. I left the finance manager messages. She will not pick up the phone or return my calls. I call the main number the guy said oh she's with a customer but you should get your down payment soon. I will be contacting an attorney regarding my down payment that this bogus car lot still have!!'

We found out after we purchased our Volvo that it was involved in a major accident where over half of the vehicle was repainted. They did not disclose this to us. When I brought this up to the manager, Alex, he said there is nothing they can do. They won't over offer to correct the terrible paint job that they did trying to cover this up. I wish we never would have went to this business. We learned our lesson the hard way. But you don't have to. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Ben & Ali made my car buying process so easy and pleasant. I highly recommend anyone shopping around for a car to pop in and talk to Ben. Thanks again!!!

We just bought a used vehicle and we hope that it won't be as disappointing as our purchase experience at McGrath Volvo. Misleading tactics, some dishonesty. Our advice is BUYER BEWARE!!! If you are buying a used car know that their rates are not the best available. Lots of lip service with "what can we do to make it better?" and "we are all about customer service" with no real intent to make anything better. By the time all was said and done, it was borderline comical when we left the dealership with the vehicle we purchased and saw that the gas tank was on empty. Barely had enough gas to make it to a gas station. The sales person later called to apologize and said he owed us a tank of gas. We're pretty sure that's not going to happen.

I wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing. This place is awful and gives Volvo a bad name. The people at this dealership are only concerned about their next meal, not your deal. Someone else mentioned how they lie, now that's true! Also you have to agree to be recorded to shop here? And last of your black stay away from here as they do apply the "black tax" onto thier deals so will pay more just because the two numbers in the middle of your social are even. You've been warned. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT all costs!

Service Department leaves a lot to be desired. Made an appointment and got a call three hours later. Person said he noticed my car wasn't there. Miscommunication in service department or lack of employees to serve the customer to any level of satisfaction was not happening. We have an expensive service contract with Volvo incurred during the purchase of this vehicle. Numerous issues with service managers who don't seem to have handle on operations. Even though another Volvo dealer is further from my home I will hope for better elsewhere. Volvo do better!

Had an emergency situation with my car which needed to be addressed immediately. When I described the problem (interior HVAC was still in full blast despite the fact that the engine was off), I was told that it was "normal". I explained that it was not the fan cooling the engine, it was the interior system. Then I was placed on hold for nearly 10 minutes, then was told that a manager was wrapping up with a customer and would call me back. NEVER got that call back. Ended taking the vehicle to a different dealer who quickly ascertained that the issue was not normal. A resistor had blown and had the issue not been take care, there would have been significantly more damage to the engine. Punchline: use the service center if you want poor customer service and to be treated like you're stupid-with a touch of misogyny

Absolute scale artist. Non-negotiating. If you think you're getting a deal it's just a bate and switch. A shell game. You can't even use your own financing from your bank. They won't accept it. Horrible dealership.

Yesterday we purchased a used C30. We had a few issues in our negotiation that needed to be, well, negotiated. Both John K and Jesus D handled all matters professionally. My wife and I are very satisfied and appreciate the promptness of the sale process. There is no waiting for 20 minutes for a reply to a request. We discussed what was important, agreed on a solution and were done. The car is used and here again any safety related issues were taken care of by the dealership. We highly recommend this dealership and appreciate the effort of the entire staff.

We took our 2014 XC70 in for an oil change, intermittent battery warning light and the front end feeling a little loose when driving over bumps. After dropping off the vehicle, we explored the new cars available on the lot and casually talked with two sales people. The following day service called and said they saw no indications of the battery warning light, but said we needed new tie rods on one side. My husband approved that service. A later follow-up call from service said there was more wrong: more tie rods and the steering box. We didn't approve this work as we were becoming suspicious that we were being "encouraged" to trade the vehicle and buy a new one. After picking up the vehicle and paying our bill, we had a horrendous drive home. The front end was almost uncontrollable and the battery warning light, along with other electrical warning lights lit up the dash. We did some research and found another reputable Volvo service center and had the car towed there. The battery warning light was due to a pulley that needed replacing. The front end was barely bolted back together, causing the front end problems we had driving the car home. The vehicle also needed an alignment which was never mentioned by McGrath. My advice, stay clear of this dealership. They don't value established customers, and don't seem to care if they send you home in a vehicle that is safe to drive.

Super staff. Kept me informed, price as quoted. As a retired dealership manager, I can tell you that these folks are top notch. Clean facility, open environment.

After taking my wife's xc60 to sell to McGrath, I was told by John that they would take my wife's vehicle for $42k. After confirming the accepted amount with John that the vehicle will be taking by McGrath for $42k, after sitting on it for six days and text/verbal confirmation with John, I received a follow-up call from Jesus that the number they gave me was wrong... the number was misunderstood by John and I should have been qouted $39k instead of the $42k that i was originally told. This deal has left a distaste in our mouth and has made it very hard to trust Mcgrath Volvo when dealing with sales. We will not recommend anyone to this dealership when it comes to sales. Honesty and integrity is key for doing business with anyone.

I am normally not someone to post these messages but I feel it necessary to share my experience and warn future buyers to stay clear of this place. I purchased a 2018 xc60 hybrid from Kevin on 3/10/22. I was quoted by him as the car would get 59 mpg in hybrid mode for about 350 miles. The first day I drove the car, the battery died within 20 miles (it was not in all electric mode) and my mpg promptly went to 25 mpg. It is maddening. I get that real world driving might not match EPA estimates but something is completely off. I called the sales manager to share my frustration and I guess they don't share the motto "the customer is always right." Instead, I was verbally assaulted by him. Beyond the completely inaccurate mpg I was quoted, Kevin said the app worked "great". After 4 days and multiple attempts at sync'ing the car to the app, I'm unable to get it done and they've provided no remedy on how to fix it. They are completely unresponsive to my issues and have a feeling they are just waiting for me to move on and stop asking for fixes and clarifications. Please take my advice, head to Schaumburg and Patrick Volvo or Northfield for Fields Volvo.

I'm at Autobarn Volvo for delivery of my husbands S90 as we speak. You know, the one he was going to purchase from you guys but you tried to pull some funny stuff. We should have known better after reading reviews from others. At least we figured it out before we made the 90 min drive from WI and not like some others. Potential buyers beware.
