Likely one of the worst experiences I have had with a business in years. This guy is simply out of his mind while being rude and one of the most personally unlikable people I have ever met. He charges exorbitant prices and seems to be genuinely shocked when you question his fees. It is simply un-nerving that this guy has photos of your entire family that he then holds hostage until you cough up what he demands. One suggestion for the business location: You may have better luck if your studio didn't smell like a wet dog and was decorated in some style other than "early alley". It is simply beyond comprehension how this guy is in business.

Al has been my go-to photographer, since 1997. Everything from my wedding portraits, to cherished photos from my modeling days, as well as my business headshots. He sees his subjects from an artist's point of view, and I trust him implicitly, to capture something special and unique. He's always understood my love of timeless images; photos that seem to fit in any era, with a classic aesthetic.It's the subtle things he notices and brings to the photo, as well as his tendency to think outside the box to improvise, that give his photos their magic.

I have used Al Buschauer twice for corporate portraits. Both times he did wonderful work. I was especially pleased with the way he transformed the raw proof into a very professional looking image that matched the format of of the portraits that were already on our company website. He did great work and turned it around very quickly. I will continue to use Al for both professional and personal portraits.

Over many years, Al’s portraits have provided an intimate chronology of our sons’ growth from infancy to adulthood. The first time we saw Al’s work hanging in the Ice House Mall in Barrington it took my breath away, and the first portraits he took of our boys were so amazing they brought me to tears. Al has an innate knack for putting his subjects totally at ease, and that leads to the most wonderful results. I would give him 15 stars if I could! A Buschauer portrait is definitely an investment, but one worth making. Al’s portraits of our boys are among our most prized possessions.

We have worked with Al Buschauer for many years now, for our engagement, wedding and family portraits and we always are thrilled with his beautiful portraits. His attention to detail and skill in capturing a great picture, even when dealing with children ,is amazing. Love working with Al and Savanah!

We treasure the portraits Al has done for our family. Our daughter is a dancer and an equestrian. Al captured her grace, power and independent, loving spirit in each setting numerous times. It was difficult to choose which portraits to frame because there were always so many we loved. I enjoyed working with Al, a fellow animal and nature lover. He is truly an artist. If only we had done more family portraits.....

As a child, I had many portraits taken by Al. It was a fun event that my sister and I did almost annually. I still remember the anticipation of waiting to see the end result and which photo my parents would choose to hang in our home. Even as a child, I admired those portraits, and they are treasures that I still have to this day. Fast forward many decades later, I am now a mom and have had the privilege of Al taking portraits of my little girl. It’s almost as if I can see her growing up through each photo he has taken of her. His ability to capture her true character in a photo is profound. I am beyond grateful that I have these memories and I am forever thankful to Al for these precious gifts.

Al created both portraits and paintings of our two younger boys. They were both fantastic. Although Al's artistry is superior, what impressed me the most was his ability to capture exactly our boys' unique personalities. We were so happy with his work that we purchased both a large portrait and a painting he did of the portrait. Both are hanging in our home and make us smile every time we see them.

Al has been photographing me and my family since I was a toddler. I remember the halls of my childhood home filled with our portraits, some of which I have now in my own home as an adult. He always had a way with us as kids and knew exactly how to capture the most perfect moment. Now having a family of my own, Al has continued to capture those moments for me ever since my daughter was a baby. I am so grateful for his talent and gift as a true artist!

I have used Buschauer photography several times in the last few years and so appreciate the talent of Al. He has captured “that look” that no amateur is able to match. My family portraits are a lasting treasure to us and I am so happy that I made the investment. The photographer, Al Buschauer, took the most beautiful portrait photos I have ever had. His photography is the best in the Barrington area and beyond by far. I have worked with him in the past many times. He has a unique mind for photography, a generous heart, and a passion for his work you do not see very often. I highly recommend him for any photography needs.

We can't say enough about Al and his work! We have been using Al for our family portraits since shortly after moving to the Barrington area 14 years ago. He is professional and so fun to work with, puts everyone at ease including our pets. We could not be happier with the finished products we have purchased from Al and look forward to working with him in the future as our family grows. We highly recommend Al!!!

Al Buschauer is the ultimate artist and professional. His portraits can only be described as works of art. The portraits taken of me on the trading floor of the Chicago Board of Trade, when I was its President and CEO, are cherished by my family and me to this day. I would recommend Al to anyone and everyone who wants a wonderful experience and memory that captures the moment and reality of the time, place, and person.
