My experience was very positive from the first time I walked into the door. Steven was honest and straightforward and offered me options based upon what I wanted. He reported that it would be ready in about 2 weeks, and it was ready in one week. When I picked up my ring, both Carla and the lady who did the assessment were friendly and offered any assistance I might seek in the future. Top marks in all aspects of my experience.

I highly recommend Matthew Erickson Jewelry in Fox Valley in Aurora. It is a family owned business that offers quality jewelry with friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent service. I wanted a solitaire heart shape ring that is not a common shape and not available in the jewelry stores. Unlike other jewelry stores Marge ordered a few stones that have ver high GIA ratings. The showroom has many settings in the store but Marge did extensive research and ordered several that I requested. She spent a lot of time getting me the excellent setting for my ring. She was communicative along the way and was patient and got me a perfect setting. Consequently the jeweler created the perfect ring for me. No other jeweler offered to do that. The quality is much better than online or in chain jewelry stores in the mall. They have earned a loyal customer that I highly recommend!

We were happy with the advice that Steven and Carla gave us. I was unsure about what to do with my old ring and how I could incorporate it into a new ring and band. They were very nice and patient with us!

Could not be happier with the services received while purchasing an engagement ring from Matthew Erickson Jewelers. My soon to be fiance and myself worked with Stephanie to find the perfect custom ring design to fit our needs. When we were informed that the setting we were looking at was not compatible with the stone, Stephanie and team were able to find us a custom band almost identical to the previous, that met the specifications. All around the service was exceptional and the completed ring is exactly what we were hoping for. Would recommend Matthew Erickson Jewelers to anyone looking to purchase a ring!

We have been going to Matthew Erickson for years. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the industry. They have a lot of options and are more than willing to work with you to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. We truly feel like valued customers. We would definitely recommend them and will continue to use them for all our jewelry needs.

The rings are extremely overpriced. I bought my engagement ring here only to find out how much I overpaid for the quality a year later. They sold me the ring for 12k and offered 2k to buy it back. They also are sometimes very rude when working with them. When I got my wedding bands soldered to my engagement ring I had to ask them to line up the two diamond wedding bands because the first time they did, it was completely uneven. They gave me attitude for asking them to kindly line them up and it was a simple request. I will not shop here ever again after all the experiences I’ve had with them.

My fiancé got my engagement ring here and when I tell you I’m sooo glad he did! The customer service provided is unmatched! Every single employee in this establishment genuinely cares about you! I had to get my ring resized and when I tell you it was hassle free it was seamless! They make you truly feel like family!! And my ring is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

If you need an appraisal done- BEWARE, do your research. I should have before coming here and wasting money on a junk appraisal. Steve's "GIA diploma" is from a looooong time ago and his practices are extremely outdated. Even per GIA's website, they don't recommend going to him- he is not independent and not part of any professional organization that ensures quality service and continuing education. GIA recommends going to an independent appraiser that is affiliated with a professional organization such as the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, the International Association of Appraisers, etc- of which Steve is not affiliated with. There are many independent, qualified, appraisers in the Chicagoland area. Don't waste your time or money here- they are no different than any layperson's opinion of jewelry value. Even weirder, when I reached out to Steve to discuss my concerns about his appraisal, he indicated he preferred to communicate through online reviews.... so weird. I guess he feels he got paid- it's an appraisal so there's not really such a thing as a 'return'., so he doesn't care. Such a lack of professionalism in handling customer concerns is appalling. Here's my review then, Steve.

Seems like decent place, do not bother if you are new customer bringing jewelry from another store. Poor business ethics making negative comments about other stores and under valuing appraised items due to unprofessional opinions about other stores.

Couldn’t be happier with the repair and resizing of my wedding ring. Carla was wonderful to work with and was very upfront about what needed to done so there were no surprises. So happy to have my beautiful, and now very sparkly, ring back on my finger!
