My Father has been here for a year. I went there to visit him and was appalled by the quality of the food served. Breakfast and lunch were absolutely inedible. I feel so sad because he’s lost weight due to the fact he’s being served absolute garbage. I’m now looking into new place for him. This is unacceptable and they should be ashamed. I must say their nursing staff is incredibly kind and I’m sorry it has come to this.

It was a much better place in the 90’s-2000’s. Not impressed.

Jennings Terrace is not just a place to live, it is a family. My uncle was a resident here. He loved his friends and “family” here. Everyone was so kind to him. He loved the activities, the food, the staff, the residents, the outings, etc. Not only did he become a family with them, they embraced his brothers and my family too. Since his passing, they have kept in touch with us and invite us to events. They may not have all the frills like some places, but they have big hearts and lots of care and love for their residents.

I'm here to express my experience of Jennings Terrace, whom my Mom was a resident there. she was in sheltered living. she loved her neighborhood and the care her staff gave her. she even had her own chef, every one was wonderful. i tell people it's not the fancy that matters its the people who care . and the love they give them. i myself when i need a hand up this would be my home. a big thumbs up to Jennings Terrace!

If you have a loved one or knows of anyones loved one that is at this place please go check on them. That place is horrible and nobody cares about the residents especially upper management (Jo Marie and Lara (4th director of nursing in 3 years) we have brought up concerns of neglect and abuse and all have been ignored. They don't provide medical attention when needed. Most of their aides are disrespectful and rude to families and they yell at the residents. It's heartbreaking. We would go daily and find my mom with a brief soaked in urine or feces, that soiled her pants no matter how many times we communicated that she isn't able to ask to go to the bathroom or let someone know when she needs changed so they need to check her often. They change up medications as they feel fit. If it wasn't for my daughter getting an ambulance to get my mom to a hospital yesterday, she would have died and still may die due to their negligence which I think was their goal as retaliation since we have reported them. We kept bringing up that we were concerned because my mom wasn't looking or sounding well and was told oh ok we'll check her and that's it. Aides have told us that staff steals medication. It's just horrible. One of the residents told my daughter and I that she no longer wears gowns to bed because one of the males tried to rape her one night. We don't want anything bad happening to anyone else. Please go check on them and if you feel your loved one is being neglected (not being fed, not being changed frequently enough, not getting medical attention when needed, not being bathed/cleaned, not being seen by a doctor when needed, verbally abused, full of bruises etc., file a complaint with adult protective services, contact ombudsman, or get them out of there. I pray that nobody else has to suffer there. The only 2 people that showed my mother any compassion were two aides Debbie and Neecee (Not sure about spelling). The worst were Janine and Amy. Very rude to the patients and family as well if you spoke up. We let Amy know after she was extremely unprofessional to us, that a patient was vomiting and she said "not my patient, not my problem!!!". It's disgusting and so infuriating that this is how elders are treated there. The nurses there also do nothing but give medicine. Zero communication or direction from management to staff. Lara the Director of Nursing does nothing. When my daughter brought up concerns to her, her response was "Well why don't you take your grandma someplace else". This place needs to be shut down!

Wish I could give zero stars. PSA: If anybody has their loved one or knows of anyones loved one that is at Jennings Terrace nursing home in Aurora, IL please go check on them. That place is horrible and nobody cares about the residents in the nursing home side especially upper management (Jo Marie and Lara (4th director of nursing in 3 years) because I have brought up concerns of neglect and abuse and all have been ignored. They don't provide medical attention when needed. Most of their aides are disrespectful and rude to families and they yell at the residents. It's heartbreaking. I would go daily and find my grandma with a brief soaked in urine and the way through her pants no matter how many times I communicated that she isn't able to ask to go to the bathroom or let someone know when she needs changed so they need to check her often. They change up medications as they feel fit. If it wasn't for me getting an ambulance to get my grandma to a hospital yesterday, she would have died and still may die due to their negligence which I think was their goal as retaliation since we have reported them. I kept bringing up that I was concerned because she wasn't looking or sounding well and was told oh ok we'll check her and that's it. When ambulance arrived her BP was dangerously low and she was aspirating and needed suction. Aides have told us that staff steals medication. It's just horrible. One of the residents told me and my mom that she no longer wears gowns to bed because one of the males tried to rape her one night. I don't want anything bad happening to anyone else. Please go check on them and if you can, file a complaint with adult protective services, contact ombudsman, or get them out of there. I pray that nobody else has to suffer there. Very rude to the patients and family as well if you spoke up. The nurses there also do nothing but give medicine. Zero communication or direction from management to staff. Lara the Director of Nursing does nothing. When I brought up concerns to her, her question was "well why don't you take your grandma someplace else". No attempts to find solutions and make things better. This place needs to be shut down.

I worked here for 4 days, I was excited because I love to clean. The housekeeping job is the same as any ther housekeeping, but here they only have one housekeeper which was me. I had to clean 36 rooms myself, there are rooms for the elders that can do things themselves and the ones that can't. The nurses are horrible, they don't treat the residents with kindness, the management sucks, they yell at the elders because they want to prove that the staff is right. The side for the elders that can do thing themselves have no housekeeping, when I cleaned that side one time the resident told me they haven't cleaned there room for at least 3 weeks. I was new so that wasn't on me but I cleaned it for him, the residents were sweet and funny. I quit because it's tough for only $13, on top of all of this I have not received my check, it's been a month and 2 weeks. I definitely do not recommend this place to work or to put any grandparents/ parents here. Horrible staff, they have no patience for them, I was always crying after work because I felt so bad.

I would NOT recommend this place if you want True Honesty regarding your parent. Since New Management took over, they will never give you an honest answer. You will get 5 different stories, Lie right to your face. Missing Meds thru years here. No excuse, Director even told 2 family members in meeting, they have had problem with staff stealing meds. Been taken care of. Bring it up again. Wow....all of sudden those records disappeared, no one know anything about that. (speak w / nurses/aides...they will talk) Jennings Director/Head of Heritage will over ride any other Doctor/Medical Professional/Other Assisted Medical Facilities Prognosis..and put your parent into Nursing Home so you pay more $.... Will give you 5-6 different reasons, will refuse to put into writing. I guess a director has more knowledge then actual Doctors/Nurses/4 other Medical Facilities who disagree with upper management prognosis. Even when those professionals call....NOPE they will not listen Now its all about $$$$$. Family has even discovered from speaking with other Past residences, they had same issue....Just want to kick every one of their Assisted Living Rooms, NO REASON GIVEN, and put into Nursing Side which cost twice as much. Now they can get the New Costly Prices to a new person coming in....since older residents here pay the lower costs. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE unless you dont care about your parent and have a ton of $$$$ to spend

I’ve known about Jennings for several years after working at OLGC in Aurora. I was so happy that they could accommodate my mother and get her all the therapies and support she needs. The staff is WONDERFUL!!

I am currently living at Jennings terrace. All of the staff that I have contact with are very caring. Since I was a food service person, I enjoy the food.Plenty of activitied. For those who are unaware it's a pretty nice place to live.
