We have been going her for many years. We have had three dogs, and all have been given excellent care (including dental cleanings, sterilizations, arthritis treatment, anxiety issues, chronic heart conditions, and an ACL surgery). Doctors are willing to work with Chewy Rx orders (some vets are not). When it comes to cost, they seem to be competitive with nearby facilities. In the past, I have called around for prices on pre-planned surgeries, and their cost was neither substantially more nor less than other vets nearby.A friend who owns parrots has told me this hospital is one of the few in the Chicago suburbs who can provide advanced care for birds. I have often seen unusual and exotic pets in their waiting room, including rabbits, parrots, and even a hamster. The entrance drive to their parking lot tends to sneak up on your if you are coming from Montgomery Road. It's almost immediately after you turn, so go slowly and watch for it on your left. Coming on Montgomery from the direction of Ogden Avenue there is a train track. If you are unlucky to catch a freight train, you will be stuck for a while. The nearest overpass for traffic to avoid the train tracks is on Ogden Avenue, so you might as well just wait for the train.

This is hands down the best clinic that takes exotics in the area. As someone with a large handful of rescue reptiles I’ve been to almost every exotic vet within a 50 mile radius of me and none of them compare to IP. Their vets are so compassionate, helpful, and dare I say affordable? I’ve had a lot of visits here and was pleasantly surprised when the cost of imaging and treatments together barely touched my bank account. My tortoise also ALWAYS comes in covered in poop because evidently car rides make them go- the staff barely blinks at how gross she is and they help clean her up. Always my go to recommendation to others with exotics.

Not happy at all. Our dog Max was experiencing joint swelling and limping. Max didn’t received the attention needed and it took 2 months and we spent $1500 to this clinic to figured what’s wrong with my dog. The diagnostic came of Lyme Disease after I had to push for it by calling back the office a few times. The Test for Lyme disease was only $130. For me they put first the business side(extra charging and not taking enough time to see the dog) instead of caring or practicing the veterinary medicine. The doctor left the Lyme disease in my dog untreated for 2 months, this is unacceptable. Unfortunately, our beloved dog passed away too soon, as result of Lyme disease complications. Hope the doctor in charge with Max case will read this review and will do a much better job next time. Needless to say how much suffering brought to my family.

If i can give over 5+ stars i would. Before i moved to aurora i struggled to find a good hospital for my babies and this place is amazing. Always recommend to friends and family. The prices are reasonable and fair. All the doctors here are very caring and professional. I will continue to come to this location for as long as im living in aurora. Thank you for treating my dogs with much care.

I actually came here way back in 2015 so this review is quite old but still valid. They worked in my 11 year old cat that I suspected had pyometra (fyi - spay your pets people. I was still in grade school when my family got her so I wasn't in a position to do it myself). Dr. Sam was able to quickly confirm that she did and said he'd work her in the next day for surgery. Surgery went smoothly and she went on to live for another 7 years. ❤Dr. Sam also treated my rat when she was having some upper respiratory symptoms. He's a wonderful vet, and the entire staff has always been nothing but friendly and professional. When I later euthanized my rat the staff was so understanding and so nice - I know it seems silly to become so attached to a rat but they're wonderful animals. Their compassion made the process so smooth. At that time I also didn't realize a lot of vets will send out sympathy cards after a euthanasia, but it was a really pleasant surprise. The staff was also very clear when I had signed up for a Care Credit card to pay for my cat's surgery that I should pay off the surgery in 6 month's to avoid any interest from accruing. As a 19 year old who hadn't had a credit card at the point, I really appreciated their emphasis on that. I was quick to pay off the balance and experienced no issues.

I took my cat to see Dr. Ernsting and he was very informative and helpful. I could tell he was very knowledgeable about cats which made me feel like we were in good hands. The other staff were great as well! I would absolutely recommend going here.

Went to have my rats euthanized here last year and never wrote my bad review because I’m still not over the horrible experience. I went here for my rats to have them PTS, one was doing very poor and the other one had a tumor on her neck. I sat and waited in the room for over an hour after being on time to my appointment. I don’t mind waiting at all but no one ever came to tell me that they were running behind or had an emergency. I had to ask reception twice if I could be seen soon because my animal was getting worse and she needs to be put to sleep. They would go oh ok I’ll let them know. Then no one would come. Finally after I complained the last time I was sobbing and basically begging someone to come get my rat because she was legit dying right in front of me. Then finally they sent a different doctor in and I was able to get them put down. I wasn’t told there was an emergency going on in the hospital so it would be a minute until the doctor finally came in and told me. Again I don’t mind waiting but communication needs to be done. I shouldn’t have to go out and beg reception to be seen. I’d keep your exotic pets away from here.

My dog loves all the techs and doctors here! Very easy to schedule appointments and also open later most days to accommodate work schedules. This is a great vet and animal hospital!

I took my hamster in last minute here for a weird abscess. Dr. Ernsting handled her so well and gave antibiotics that took care of the abscess and my hamster recovered and is doing amazing months later! Here's an after and before!

Beautiful building, super clean and fresh. We love Dr. Brian and the front office team is kind and calm which really helps when you're worried about your sick pet! Our only issue is that we had a 30+ minute wait, in an exam room. We understand there was 1 vet on and several emergent situations ahead of us, the issue is the front staff didn't come in and let us know that. At all. WE went out and asked about the hold up after about 25 minutes and we're just told " he knows you're here". It was after our appointment that our Vet tech explained apologized for our wait, as did Dr. Brian. Again, we get it now, but it would have been zero frustrating we had been told earlier that our wait would have to be extended.

This was my first time here. Also, a first time being to an animal hospital that takes exotic pets! Upon walking in the ladies up front were very nice and friendly. The waiting room and my patient room were very clean. I only waited a few minutes to see the doctor. Dr. Benson and his assistant were very helpful. Dr.Benson took over 20 minutes to sit with me and was genuinely concerned with what I had to ask. He was very knowledgeable in everything about the baby bearded dragon I brought in.He took a good look at him. I will be back in 6 months for his checkup. Overall, a wonderful facility with happy and knowledgeable staff. This was a great experience for me and my exotic pet. I left knowing exactly what I had to do and wasn’t pressured into anything extra. Such great people, thank you!
