There is a reason why this place has a horrible rating. First let's start with the employees. They sound like they have no idea what they're talking about or doing. Then there is a manager who I spoke to that was extremely arrogant when explaining to me the rental steps. I didn't even bother continuing the conversation. How these people still have a job is a Wonder to me. I won't speak for other Hurts stores in other locations but this one in Batavia is ridiculous.

Hertz (Aurora, IL) was able to accommodate a special request within a short timeframe. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Edgard is fantastic!

If I could give a zero I would. Made a reservation and when I showed up I was told they don’t have any cars

Would give no stars if possible. Unfortunately, I didn't get a choice to do business with this place. My Kia needed the engine replaced and they rented a car for me from here. I was warned upon picking my car up from another customer "Take photos of everything, they're shady." to which I rolled my eyes. She was right. I called the store (which is impossible to get through to an actual human at the location) and asked "My vehicle is ready at Kia. Do I drop my rental off by you and get a ride to Kia or how does this work?" Response "No worries, just leave it at Kia, we'll pick it up!" Great. This is on 5/31/23. A few days later I get harassed with phone calls about my rental being overdue. I call again, finally getting a person, I ask "I keep getting these phone calls. I was instructed to leave my rental at Kia, which I did on May 31st. Was that not right? What should I do?" Response "No, ignore those, we just haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, you won't be charged." Cool. Then in July, I get my first invoice from PlatePass. Which is interesting because I did not use any tollways whilst I had the rental. The date of my rental agreement, according to this invoice is 5/23/23 (fact) to 6/10/23 (fiction) and the date of the alleged tollway use is 6/9/23. I call PlatePass and get told "Oh, you need to clear this up with Hertz." I call Hertz, "Oh, you need to clear this up with PlatePass." I try emailing both organizations. It's clear the toll usage occurred when a Hertz employee finally made it to Kia to retrieve the rental and for some reason, found it a necessity to use the tollway for a 10 mins trip. Emailing got me nowhere. Several different "customer service" representatives were all responding to my emails, not just one person and nobody knew what was going on. PlatePass said "Just provide us with proof you didn't have the rental at the time of the charge." Neat. How the hell am I supposed to do that? They don't have the date I left my car at Kia, they have my agreement ending 10 days after I left the rental, PER THEIR INSTRUCTION at the dealership and when they were able to get someone over there to pick it up. Call Hertz again, can't get a hold of the actual location, talk to a person who again tells me to contact PlatePass. I'm done. I finally just paid the damn fee, but I will NEVER and I mean N E V E R rent from the company again. Outrageous. I had to pay $11.09 to make sure this situation doesn't put me into collections or have my renting privileges being revoked, because A HERTZ EMPLOYEE used the tollway in the rental I had. Even though I had done everything they instructed me to do and wasn't in possession of that rental for 10 damn days. Steer clear of this place. No wonder they have a 2.6 rating.**After reading other reviews, I also had a similar experience with the staff when I picked up my rental. They acted like they had just found out I was coming, when I heard the mechanic at Kia talk to someone at Hertz about me coming there shortly. They were extremely rude and seemed very put off. I'm 40, I've never had to rent a car on my own (my husband always heads this for vacations and such) I had no clue what to expect. When I was brought out to the vehicle, I was told to point out any dents or scratches, so I wouldn't be charged. After I pointed out a few things, the man who was "helping" me snapped at me and told me "That's not what were are looking for, any sort of major damage, not little cosmetic things that you're pointing out." Ok, well, I didn't know. I also work in customer service, so I made sure I was friendly and polite, even though I was being talked to and treated so rudely.

The many reviews about this place made me nervous. Luckily I got to work with Edgard and he made the process smooth. He has very helpful and friendly and got me back on the road fast. It was my first time driving a Tesla and he took time to teach me about the car and how to drive it.Ask for Edgard if you will be renting from this location.

There’s a new manager his name is Edgar at this store. He is fantastic, what a change in this Hertz rental office 100% better now that Edgar the new manager is in charge. My rental went flawlessly. He went to extremes to make sure that I got the exact car I wanted. The rate was excellent. Edgar has made a huge difference in this facility and I recommend anyone in the nearby area to rent a car here at this church location. You won’t be disappointed. Best customer service Ive ever experienced at hertz in 40 years! He acknowledged my gold status and I really felt the first class service! Will definitely rent here many more times!

If I could leave zero stars I would . . My personal vehicle was hit with a rental by the Branch Manager in July. The day it occurred he tried denying it although I was literally right outside and seen him do it. He ran to the back to hide and only came out because the police was called. It is now December and the company is yet to pay the damages to my vehicle. Wouldn’t ever recommend.

My family and I rented a car back in July and we forgot to leave a review. Joe was amazing and took great care of us! We got there and both got VERY clean mini vans. We also got an apology for being behind which was also great. Amazing service and we would rent from there again. Overall such a great experience!! Sad to see these reviews because I know Joe was wonderful.

Appalling Experience at Hertz Aurora, IL: Unprofessional Sales Rep and Dismal ServiceMy recent encounter with the Hertz location in Aurora, IL, has left me deeply disappointed and compelled to share the extent of my dissatisfaction. The conduct of a specific individual, a white man with glasses, was truly disgraceful, marked by his rude, condescending, and dismissive behavior.Upon stepping into the establishment, I was confronted with an utterly disappointing scene. The store's operations were far from the standard I expected—loud music blared, sales representatives slouched in their chairs, engrossed in their phones, while bins behind them overflowed with fast food wrappers. Regrettably, this unsightly workspace included the area where the aforementioned white man with glasses was stationed, further underscoring the lack of professionalism.Adding insult to injury, the vehicle I received was a far cry from the one I had originally booked. To compound matters, the interior reeked of smoke, rendering the driving experience not only uncomfortable but unpleasant.Desperate for a solution, I engaged with customer care, only to be directed to multiple locations in a futile attempt to secure a different vehicle. Shockingly, none of these locations had available cars, leaving me stranded with an unsatisfactory vehicle that I simply could not tolerate. The sales representative in question, the same white man with glasses previously mentioned, displayed a pattern of behavior that cannot be ignored. His rudeness, condescension, and dismissive attitude towards customers like myself are not only damaging to Hertz's reputation but also highlight a deeper issue within the company's customer service culture. In conclusion, my experience at the Hertz Aurora, IL location was beyond disappointing—it was an exercise in frustration and dismay. The combination of deplorable customer service, an unprofessional store environment, subpar vehicle quality, and an ineffectual conflict resolution process has solidified a negative perception of my entire encounter. It is imperative for Hertz to address these critical issues promptly and effectively to salvage its reputation and meet the expectations of its valued customers.I look forward to being contacted to discuss the issues at hand.

The employees at the place I rented to car from were absolutely unprofessional from the moment I walked through the door. I will never ever rent from here again. Then after dropping off the car I received a letter in the mail saying the vehicle had not been returned. Mind you I dropped it off the night before, so I’m not even sure how there would be confusion as to me not dropping off the car.
