She Walked Me Through Everything Perfectly And Was Beyond Super Nice And Kind. She Needs A Raise Working In The Sun Like That. Good Thing She Had A Golf Cart To Ride In Instead Of Walking.”
“I chose this Life Storage location a few weeks ago because of the reviews, and the reviews were NOT just hype. Marty is a helpful and courteous man who is a wealth of information and always friendly. This place is clean, well-lit, and the atmosphere feels safe. The only thing I think could be changed a little is that the overhead garage door stays open longer than it should after the eye has been cleared, but I am new to this storage stuff, so maybe there is a good reason for that. Otherwise, Marty is truly an asset to the company and this location is bright, clean, and wonderful.”

I have not had any issue with the staff or facility itself, however I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed because my monthly rate is increasing nearly 40%—just four months into my lease. When I chatted them for clarification, customer service representative simply said it’s due to high demand and that they reserve the right to raise prices whenever they want per the lease.
Of course demand is high—this is one of the busiest moving seasons in the Chicagoland area. But no advance notice, no explanation, and no consideration for how disruptive this is? Storage isn’t a service I can easily cancel. This would require renting a U-Haul, finding a new facility, and moving everything again. It’s a major burden.
This policy feels deeply unfair, especially so early in my lease. I chose Public Storage for its affordability and reliability—now I feel taken advantage of.
Please reconsider this approach, or at the very least, offer more transparency and flexibility for your customers.”

“The ownership should review their way of keeping customers for a longer term and not hike the prices unreasonably (close to 50% in 18 months).If it wasn’t so, I wouldn’t have moved out. Facilities are great and the Assistant Manager OLU has great personality and knows how to take care of customers.”

“Extra Space Storage offers solid value overall, with friendly, professional staff who make the entire process straightforward from the moment you walk in. The team is attentive, helpful, and genuinely tries to make things easy — whether it’s choosing the right unit, explaining the terms, or helping you navigate the facility. Pricing is another strong point: the rates are reasonable compared to many competitors in the area, and you feel like you’re getting a fair deal for the space and service provided.
The only real drawback is the access layout. Unfortunately, the entrance and maneuvering area are not very convenient, especially if you’re driving a larger vehicle, towing, or moving bulky items. The design makes it harder than it should be to enter, position your vehicle, or make quick in-and-out trips. It’s manageable, but definitely not ideal and can slow you down if you’re in a hurry.
Overall, a good storage facility with excellent staff and fair prices — just be prepared for a somewhat uncomfortable and tight entry setup. If convenience of access is your top priority, keep this in mind; otherwise, it’s a solid option.”

“Chris was very helpful staying late, twice, to answer questions and help out. Some of the renters aren't the most considerate in parking and blocking the unloading garage for sticky tacky items, but these folks are in every facility. All-in-all, a smooth move-in experience to a nice, clean storage unit.”
