I went to get a sewing machine for daughters birthday.Cashier said they are all there in a cage .I showed her the pic and she paged someone to look in store room .It was in stock and I was very pleased. The cashier and lady that came with machine were helpful. But I want to do a major kudos to Richard.Who gave me a little tutorial about the best way to check out the machine. Eg. Thread to use, material to use, different ways to test out the threads and stitches, even using a pie pan to get used to maneuvering the stiches. All the notion purchases ,he had gone thru and actually saved me $20.00 on something I didn't need. Also buy 2 (?)get one notion free. He was very helpful and friendly. He is definitely a asset to your business.Thank you Richard. You were of great help to me.And thanks to the other 2 ladies It was a very good experience shopping at JoAnn fabrics and crafts.

Lady hung up on me when I called to ask a question about the custom framing hours. Attitude, rude, and very unhelpful. If you hate your job, find a new one!

I usually find what I am looking for here, however I find the employees to be very unfriendly. Recently I was charged more than what the sale sign said, when I questioned it the girl said that it didn’t start until the next day. She did give me the price but clearly was not happy that I asked about it. I asked about another price at the register that didn’t seem right. The girl didn’t know and said the register would do it correctly. I know there was a line and she didn’t want to take the time with me. I guess these days the register is always right. I will miss the Joann in Streamwood. It was a smaller store but employed were nice and helpful.

I had another great experience at JoAnn Fabrics, this time at the Arlington Hts. location. I believe the employee at the cutting center was Maggie. Another employee helped me find the fabric I wanted, but I never saw her name tag. Both were personable and helpful.

Its a huge store, obviously the time of year made it really busy. However thankfully i found precisely what I was looking for.

I'm definitely going to start ordering online and just pay for the shipping. I have lost many hours of my life to waiting in line to check out. 1 cashier for 25 people in line at 5pm is ridiculous, you need to hire more bodies in the store.

I placed my order on line and received an email to pick up in store. Drove 15 miles to pick up the order. Half of my order was cancelled; I understand probably not in stock any longer. I arrived and there were 30ppl in the check out line. I waited in that line to pick up my order. Once outside the store I noticed the fabric cut was not the fabric I ordered. I went inside and again the cashier line was super long. The cutting table line was long so I looked for an employee to help me. Couldn't locate a single employee so I went to the back of the store where I saw people on the other side of the door that said employees only. I knocked and a gal came out. I told her my situation and she instructed me to go to the front of the store and stand in line again to be helped there. I told her I just stood in a line of 30 people and this was their fault. She said I needed to go there. I asked for a manager and she said she is the manager. I told her I didn't have time; I needed to pick my mother up from the hospital. She said she's sorry my mom is in the hospital but " we all have things to do" WOW the absolute worst customer service. I spend thousands of dollars a year with Joann. Now I have fabric that I didn't order. Such a shame the management team treats customers this way. Obviously she was more busy with the price cards she had in her hand than correcting an error her staff made. I'll rethink my options before coming to this location again.

I really do enjoy this Joann’s because of its size and concurrently, its selection. I’d been waiting to get there all week to shop for some things and return/exchange an item. Well, Xtheri (Cashier #864137, excuse the spelling) was very nice and walked me to the aisle that I needed. She also rang me up. Next to her was Toni (manager) and she was having an issue with her register. She was on the phone with what seemed to be tech services and while they seemed to have her and her issues well in hand—she seemed frustrated which was completely understandable. Well, a line of customers built up behind me but it was clear that Toni was going to take the time needed to get her register working right—as she should have but that was not the case when Xtheri asked for help with my return/exchange. Keep in mind that both Xtheri and I waited for Toni while she worked through her call. Xtheri is new and didn’t have the dexterity or knowledge to work through my small issue of a return. She asked Toni for help and Toni said that it would be a merchandise credit which I had no problem with because I didn’t have my receipt. Xtheri got lost in how to do this and nervously asked Toni for help again. Toni took the next customer without coming to help Xtheri. We were patient and the last time she asked for help, Toni said, “What do you want?” quite sharply, rude even. It was such a contrast to the behavior that was displayed by her interaction on the phone with the tech agent. The irony is that she didn’t reciprocate the same grace to her employee or customer, that needed it when she needed it. Toni did not want to help me or Xtheri—so I left. I am writing this review because it was a shameful representation of customer service from Toni. Shameful. Do better Toni.

JoAnn Fabrics has become something of the Walmart of craft stores. It's always kind of scruffy and the lighting is on the dim side. They also appear to have a variety to choose from, but when you look it's really just one or two items from each category. Their coupons are also a joke, since everything is always on "sale" but for less of a discount than you'd get with the coupon. It's dishonest and we have, for the most part, stopped shopping there.

Why does it take 20 min to check out every time you come here no matter the day or time of day. It’s insane.

This location is just full of liar and lazy people. They couldn’t fulfill my 1 item order and lied to me it’s out of stock.

Received emails regarding their big Labor Day sale (60-70% off) and made a special trip to the Arlington Heights store. Found what I needed and waiting in line to pay with only 1 slow poke cashier. Another cashier opened and the other took a break. When you are advertising this big of a sale there should be sufficient personel. There were other employees in the store that did not appear too busy and should have been waiting on customers.
