“I visited this store because I didn't want to wait for Amazon to deliver the book I wanted. I was surprised at the variety of books they carried. They are bit more expensive than Amazon but I love the Starbucks coffee shop inside that offers quiet space to work & sip. The Starbucks coffee does not accept Starbucks gift cards or rewards. The books are wonderfully organized and they offer unique and beautiful gift options. They also have board games, Puzzles and leather bound journals. I will definitely be returning when I need a place I can go to focus.”
“After visiting a couple art studios in woodfield mall where I had to talk myself into being even mildly interested in the pieces, I discovered Jen's Art through a Google search. Every piece jumped out at me. Her work is creative and inspiring.”
“A fun bookstore. Cafe inside. Friendly cashiers. Quiet. Close to other shopping & food. They would do well to have a better variety of books in some sections/departments.”
“Outstanding selection of books in a well-organized store. I especially appreciated the section where the staff selected their favorites, and there are little sticky notes explaining what the book is. It's worth a visit for fellow book-lovers.”
“Barbara's bookstore is a great place to grab a book or magazine or gift for someone while traveling traveling through Chicago's O'Hare airport. The staff at these bookstores are extremely helpful and knowledgeable in regards to All things relating to books! They have a computer system and can look all the books they have. I also appreciate they have helpful items for kids like drawing books, markers colored pencils. I had to stop here because I forgot my reading glasses and they had a wide selection to choose from.”
“Great place. Very nice and knowledgeable owner. Great selection for any interest! Prices are reasonable for reality as it is now. Tidy, bright, convinient location. Big parking lot.”
“It’s a bookstore, record store, movie store, used bookstore, used movie store, used record store, and so much more.I stopped by for one title, but could see myself spending hours in this location. The store is organized neat and clean. Many of the books are preowned, but have been well kept and gently used. The prices are very reasonable.I found the John Steinbeck title that I was looking for, East of Eden, but not in the edition I wanted. However, the price was exceptionally good and I could not pass it up.Recommended.”
“I ordered 4 puzzles and the packaging was fantastic, even after the delivery driver tossed the box at least 20 feet to deliver it, we are one of his last stops on his route. The exterior box was dented, but the puzzle boxes were not. I will definitely order again from this company. Thank you.”
“We was here yesterday and the staff was incredible. My 2 boys played while we shopped around. Parker helped us when we had questions and all. We will definitely be back.”

Unnamed Road, 1200 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine“Great place. They are always happy to order something they don't have in stock. I would much rather support an actual book store than purchase something on-line from the "A" place even if it might be a few $ more.”
“Very big clean store, the guy at the door was pleasant, the store looked nice, but I was there for the arcade, there was plenty of booths, and bystanders around, I felt uncomfortable as the arcade area is too bright for me, I almost felt like I was in the spotlight I feel the area should be a little less lit and have more discretion. I may go back and enjoy the booths which I went in the first place and wiped out”
“When a bookstore is more than just books, you venture into novelty gift shop territory and that can cheapen places like this. Fortunately Kinokuniya strikes a good balance of attracting new business while still selling books and in this case, Japanese literature. There's all sorts of Japanese books, manga, and magazines here. There's Japanese paper craft, candles, incense, puzzles, plushies, and so much more. It's delightful to peruse all the goodies in this shop.”
