I am not sure how there are good reviews here as my experience with Chad has been horrible. I tried to get a quote to add coverage to my policy. Instead of providing the quote, he just added the coverage automatically and when the price finally came in it was about 3 times higher than what I found elsewhere. I told him multiple times I only wanted a quote and not the insurance and he added it anyway and would not refund any of the premium once the price was finally available and I told him to cancel. Poor communication and poor experience all around.
Edit to respond to Chad: I did not receive the quote on 4/26, that is when you added the bike to my policy without my permission. I didn’t receive the actual price till later in June and when I said I didn’t want the coverage you said I still owed premium from 4/26 to cancellation. Show me when the quote was sent to me in April and I will remove my review. Very unprofessional and user beware if you choose to use Chad.

I have been considering leaving Chad Arnold’s office for a couple years. But, I’ve been a State Farm customer for more than 30 years. We are buying a house and selling two houses. I was dreading having to call the office. What a wonderful surprise to deal with Allison Bertke. She is AMAZING! She is kind, diligent, follows through on everything, goes out of her way to help me and on top of her phenomenal customer service, she saved me money! I’m an Allison fan for sure! Highly recommend her!!!

I have been a client of this office for a few years, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for renter's insurance in Chicago. Chad Arnold, but especially Allison Bertke, have been super responsive, helpful, knowledgable, and kind. Allison will make you feel like you are the most important client that she has, even though I know I am one of many. A small thing, but I also appreciate that Chad writes birthday cards, and holiday cards, to his clients -- it's a nice touch.

This is a very long story, so I will distill it down to the simple facts. I have been with State Farm since I was 18 years old (over 30 years). My agent previous to Chad retired and I received a letter letting me know I could pick an agent. Chad and his team at that time were very friendly, and known to offer great customer support. I encountered this great support for many years until recently. The last few times that I called the office it went straight to voicemail and in one case I did not get a call back at all after leaving a voicemail and the other time the return call was 6 hours later. I started the transfer to another agent that has to be done by State Farm customer support since the agents are in close proximity. When I confronted Chad's team member with this info and how it felt that things had changed with the quality of their customer support, they stated that I could have emailed or sent a text message and that they would continue to offer exceptional support. Let's face it, there are times (particularity when you are going through a claim) that you have a need to talk to a person. If you are wanting that from an agent ever, this is not the agent to go with. To make matters worse, the lady I was talking to told me "We saw your request for a transfer and it has been cancelled" I asked why it was cancelled and she could not give me a straight answer and talked over me. She them reiterated that I had nothing to worry about since they would continue to offer me exceptional service going forward. Wait, who is the customer here and who decided they could cancel my request? Turns out, they can't cancel it. They can reach out and request that you reconsider, but that is not what was shared with me. I still had one open item during this time with them. That last item was to help me insure a vehicle that I had to replace. I submitted it on a Tuesday got a call back that same day (now we are trending in a good direction). I did not get a final number from them for 8 days. (trend broken) In the meantime, my new agent had given me the final numbers and the details on the policy, thankfully the transfer was not canceled and Chad was kind enough to send me a very rude email that will be shared with State Farm customer service. If you are like me and want good service, want to be treated like a human and respected without added stress of wondering when you will hear back from an agent, take your business elsewhere.
